Falling For My Mysterious Wife

Chapter 72

Elaina had been on the phone with Theodore for a good hour. It seemed that their conversations had set the tone for the Dunston family’s future.

After Theodore told Elaina that he would come back tomorrow morning, Elaina hung up the phone in satisfaction.

“The Dunston family…” Elaina muttered to herself and continued, “How should I deal with Marie after I deal with her family?”

She thought a bit and said, “Forget it. I’ll just leave her to the police. It’s actually not bad if she gets to spend the rest of her life in prison.”

At that moment, the doorbell rang. Elaina went to open the door in her pajamas. Noticing that it was Jalen,

Elaina became gloomy right away.

Then she tried to close the door, only to find that Jalen had held the door already. Then before she knew it,

Jalen had walked into the house.

“Jalen, you’re trespassing on private land.” She gritted her teeth, wanting to throw him out badly.

But Jalen did not care. Instead, he said indifferently, “Then call the police.”

Elaina took a deep breath.

She felt a surge of anger rising uncontrollably. Fists clehching, she resisted the impulse to beat him up.

“Whether you believe it or not, I really know nothing about the kidnapping.” Jalen looked at Elaina with sincere eyes.

Suppressing her anger, Elaina walked back to the living room before sitting down and leaning against the sofa. “I believe you. After all, it doesn’t make sense that you would kidnap me.”

Elaina thought, behind every action there is a reason. Marie wanted to kidnap me because she thought Jalen and I were messing around.

But Jalen? He simply doesn’t have a motive for that.

Jalen was relieved upon hearing that. "Thank you."

"Don't bother. I choose to believe you, but it doesn't mean we're friends. Quite the opposite, I'm afraid," she smiled, a cold light flashing across her eyes.

She was sure that Jalen would protect Marie, so, technically, she and Jalen were enemies.

Jalen's face darkened. He understood what she meant, and that distressed him a bit. "What can I do to make you let Marie go? I can do anything to make that happen."Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

"Heh." Elaina laughed. "So, Mr. Halton, are you begging me now for the sake of Marie?"

Elaina thought, how rare that Jalen would beg others for help!

Unfortunately, I, Elaina, am not a person to be trifled with.

"I can let Marie go as long as I get to take tit-for-tat revenge," she smiled at him, with her eyes full of coldness.

Jalen was silent.

Elaina ignored him and continued, "Didn't she try to have people ruin my innocence? Well, as long as I can do the same to her, ruining her innocence, then we're even. What do you think?"

"I know you won't do things like that," Jalen said.

"Huh?"

Elaina, shocked at Jalen's answer, got up and walked up to Jalen. "Mr. Halton, do you think you really know me that well?"

Jalen shook his head. He did not understand Elaina, not a bit.

He did not know that Elaina was the famous "Dr. Gainsford", nor did he know that she was Damon's last disciple. Actually, he did not even know that she was such a skilled fighter.

"But you are right about me not being able to ruin someone's innocence," before Jalen could reply, Elaina nodded and continued.

Then she changed the topic suddenly and said with a smile, "I think it's not bad to send Ms. Dunston to prison and have her stay in there for a few years. I think she should like it there a lot."

Elaina thought, she will soon find out that those prisoners are as vicious as her.

Jalen looked at her, knowing that Elaina would not give up easily, and shook his head helplessly. "I'm sorry. I'm afraid I'll disappoint you."

"What do you mean?" Elaina frowned..
