Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1433

Tyler had always been the kind of guy who knew exactly what he wanted. The moment he stepped out of the rehab center, he had a plan in mind.

He plopped down on the bench across from Fiona, sitting up as straight as a board. "I want to go back to school. All I need from you is a little help snagging a spot. I'll handle the tuition and living expenses on my own. Plus, everything I'm using now-your stuff, your money I'll repay you tenfold someday."

He wasn't one to mooch without paying his dues.

Hearing his no-nonsense tone, Fiona paused mid-sip, her drink halfway to her lips. She adjusted, hugging a pillow to find a comfier spot, and stayed quiet.

Tyler couldn't quite read her reaction and worried he might've overstepped with his request. "If getting a spot is tricky," he added, "just introduce me to Mr. Garcia. I'm sure once he meets me, I'll be in."

No school would turn down a prodigy, and he knew he was just that—a prodigy.

"You're pretty sure of yourself, huh?" Fiona chuckled. "I like your confidence about paying back, but I'm not thrilled with the rest."

Tyler gave her a puzzled look.

"I got you out of there, so you're with me now. Forget about tuition and living expenses. If you're going to school, focus on that. No side hustles, got it?"

"If you even think about taking a part-time job instead of hitting the books-" Fiona slowly raised a hand, pressing down on her wrist with the other. The threat was clear as day.

Knowing Tyler was new and probably feeling a bit stiff, Fiona nudged Mikey with her foot. "Hey, go grab some senior year exam papers for me." "Now? Really?" Mikey was flabbergasted. "Boss, where am I supposed to find those right now?"

Fiona just gave him a look.

"Alright, alright, I'm on it."

Damn. Clearly, his rank wasn't quite up to Tyler's yet.

Before long, Mikey showed up with a set of papers, and Fiona handed them to Tyler. "Finish these and show me."

It was a little test to see how sharp he really was.

Tyler nodded and dove right in, pen at the ready.

Fiona popped in her headphones and started binge-watching a series. Then her phone buzzed.

The number was unfamiliar, so Fiona promptly declined the call. But it rang again, right away.

This time, she picked up.

"Hello?"

"Ms. Fiona, hehehe..."

The voice belonged to a sleazy-sounding old man. Fiona frowned. Who on earth was this?

"Ms. Fiona, don't you remember me? I'm Dr. Shepherd. We met when I was treating young Master Adam."

Dr. Shepherd's voice grew cautious when Fiona didn't respond immediately.

Fiona genuinely couldn't place him.

After straining her memory she asked, "What's going

"Didn't we agree you'd come to the hospital for a consultation? Have you forgotten?"

Dr. Shepherd sounded like a jilted lover, as if Fiona had left him high and dry.

Fiona rubbed her temples. She vaguely remembered something like that.noveldrama

"I've been swamped lately."

"No worries! Just let me know when you can swing by the hospital!"

Fiona was about to say her schedule was packed indefinitely. But considering the old man's age, she thought it over and said, "Alright, this weekend. I'll come by this weekend."

Dr. Shepherd, thrilled at her promise, ended the call and turned to his assistant. "Quick, gather all the tough eases in the hospital. We're about to have a visit from a medical legend!" en
