Chapter 95
Chapter 95
Chapter 95 The Logan Family Was About To Be Destroyed.
Peyton, however, smiled lightly and said, “I thought he was just using me as a pawn to get back at you.”
“How could you think like that?” Nolan frowned, feeling that Peyton was acting strange tonight.
Nolan had intended to say a few more words, but now he had to go deal with the trouble caused by Helena.
Besides the weeping Helena, there were also Helena’s difficult–to–deal- with family members waiting for Nolan.
He handed the room key to Peyton and said, “You go back to the room and change your clothes first.”
As long as Peyton changed her clothes, no one would know that the woman just now was her. Nolan could easily handle the rumors online.
Nolan didn’t know what Peyton was planning in her mind. To ease the previous awkwardness, he moved the fireworks that were originally scheduled for 10 o’clock two hours earlier.
Fireworks were set off into the sky in the extremely cold weather, attracting a large number of spectators. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
The deck, covered with a thick layer of snow, was crowded with people and very lively.
The fireworks display made people temporarily forget the previous embarrassment and all enjoyed the beauty of this moment.
Even those in high positions could not refuse the fleeting moments of beauty.
Grace cried uncontrollably while covering her face. Bruce stood by her side and comforted her, “You’ve grown up, it’s time to become
smarter.”
Grace is now very regretful. Being slapped by Helena is not important, Peyton is.
“I had no idea that the man who helped her was Mr. Dalton. If Mr. Dalton found out that I was behind this, my shares and family would disappear!”
“So I said you were stupid.”
“Bruce!” Grace naively thought that Peyton was Nolan’s kept mistress.
Even if she was a mistress, she was still Nolan’s woman.
Everyone knew that Nolan would protect his woman. Grace was so anxious that she stomped her feet. What would she do in the future? She was sure she couldn’t survive here anymore.
At that moment, she saw Peyton appear in the hallway and felt both hatred and fear towards her.
Grace was still mocking Peyton, “Don’t think Mr. Dalton will help you. You offended the White family, and you will be retaliated against.”
Grace didn’t know that Peyton was Nolan’s ex–wife.
Bruce thought Grace was too stupid. However, he couldn’t reveal Nolan’s secret. He quickly stood in front of Grace and said, “Peyton, she speaks too harshly, don’t mind her.”
Peyton nodded to Bruce and kept the secret.
She looked at Grace and spoke softly but coldly, “I couldn’t choose to be born, can’t I choose to die?”
Grace was intimidated by the coldness in Peyton’s eyes and didn’t know how to respond.
Grace whispered, “Bruce, why do I feel like she’s acting weird? What did she mean by that last sentence?”
“I don’t know, I had a bad feeling.”
“Bang!”
Fireworks continued to rise, illuminating the night as bright as day.
Chris didn’t like the noisy place and started crying. Helena had someone carry him back to the room to sleep.
Mary was carrying Chris and getting ready to go back to the room, Chris pointed to a cake not far away and spoke.
“Chris, you couldn’t eat sweets at night, otherwise you would get cavities.”
Chris disagreed. The cake was the same as the one made by his mother. Couldn’t he eat a few pieces of the cake made by his mother if he couldn’t see her?
Mary had to compromise and put it on the ground, “Chris, I’ll get you the cake, just wait for me.”
Chris saw Peyton in the hallway as soon as Mary left, and his eyes lit up.
Mom came!
