Chapter 89
Nolan’s POV
I leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Nesta’s forehead, watching her peaceful expression as she slept. My heart twisted at the sight, knowing I had to leave her again.
With a sigh, I stood up and quietly gathered my clothes from the floor, dressing as silently as possible to avoid waking her.
Once I was dressed, I glanced back at her one last time before slipping out of the room. The hallways were dimly lit, and my footsteps echoed softly as I made my way back to my own room.
The weight of my responsibilities pressed heavily on my shoulders, but there was no time to dwell on it now. It is not exactly responsibility but revenge I should have taken long ago.
I didn’t bother with a shower; there wasn’t time. Instead, I headed straight to the airport. I had already called my pilot, and the jet would be ready by the time I arrived.
My destination was a small pack where I needed to settle some scores, issues that had been left unresolved for too long.
As I walked through the palace grounds, the cool night air helped clear my mind. I knew this trip was necessary, but leaving Nesta behind never got easier.
She was a constant presence in my thoughts, even as I focused on the tasks ahead.
The drive to the airport was a blur, my mind occupied with the upcoming confrontation. I needed to ensure everything was in order, to handle the pack’s issues swiftly and decisively.
But even as I boarded the plane, settling into the plush seat, my thoughts drifted back to Nesta, and the ache in my chest intensified.
The engines roared to life, and as the plane ascended into the night sky, I stared out the window, wondering how long it would be before I could hold her again.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
The plane touched down at an airport far from the Red Moon Pack territory, a fact that never failed to irritate me. The pack didn’t even have its own airport–a testament to their backwardness and inefficiency.
I disembarked, the stark reality of my decision settled over me. I didn’t fully understand why I felt compelled to come here, but the desire to wreak havoc and settle old scores burned fiercely within me.
The journey from the airport to the Red Moon Pack was long and arduous, made worse by the knowledge of their incompetence.
The landscape was rough and uninviting, a reflection of the pack itself. I could feel my blood boiling with every mile we travelled, the anticipation of confrontation feeding my rage.
As the car sped through the desolate roads, my thoughts drifted back to the moment I woke up. The urge to come here had been overpowering, almost primal, I needed to be here, to assert my dominance and remind these fools of their place. The memories of past grievances surged to the forefront of my mind, each one stoking the fire within me.
1 clenched my fists, the leather of the car seat creaking under the pressure. The Red Moon Pack had caused enough trouble, and today I was here to make them pay.
I didn’t know if it was the sleepless nights, the frustrations with Nesta, or just the general state of unrest that had driven me here, but it didn’t matter. I was going to bring chaos to their doorstep.
The car finally pulled up to the outskirts of the Red Moon Pack’s territory. I stepped out, the cool air hitting my face like a splash of cold water.
The pack members who had gathered looked at me with a mixture of fear and confusion, clearly unprepared for my arrival. I smirked, feeling the familiar rush of power and control.
“Where’s your Alpha?” I demanded, my voice cutting through the silence like a knife.
One of the pack members stammered a response, pointing towards the main house. I didn’t bother acknowledging him further, striding purposefully in the direction he indicated.
My presence here was going to leave an indelible mark on the Red Moon Pack, and I relished the thought of the chaos and ruin I was about to unleash.
I paced back and forth in front of the pack’s main house, my impatience growing with each passing second.
The pack members gave me a wide berth, their eyes filled with fear and uncertainty. The energy around me was electric, charged with the violent intentions that I could barely contain.
Finally, the Alpha appeared, hastily summoned by his underlings. He approached me with a panicked look in his eyes, his smile shaky and forced.
He knew as well as I did that I wasn’t here for pleasantries. He could feel the storm of rage and dominance rolling off me in waves, suffocating any sense of security he might have had.
“Prince Nolan,” he greeted shakily, his voice barely steady. “What brings you to our territory?” I didn’t bother answering. My silence spoke volumes, and the Alpha’s nervousness only grew. He shifted uncomfortably, trying to gauge my intentions, but I could see the fear in his eyes.
He knew he was at my mercy, and that realisation terrified him. I stopped pacing and fixed him with a cold, unwavering stare.
The weight of my presence seemed to crush him, his shoulders hunching slightly under the invisible pressure. He licked his lips nervously, trying to maintain some semblance of composure.
“Your pack has been causing problems,” I said finally, my voice low and dangerous. “And I’m here to deal with it.”
The Alpha swallowed hard, his face paling. He stammered something about misunderstandings and peace, but I cut him off with a sharp gesture.
I wasn’t here to listen to excuses or empty promises. I was here to assert my authority and make it clear that the Red Moon Pack’s insolence would not be tolerated.
“Gather your leaders,” I ordered. “We’re going to have a little chat.”
He nodded quickly, almost stumbling over his own feet in his haste to obey. As he turned to relay my command, I resumed my pacing, the tension in the air thickening with every step.
The pack members watched me with wide eyes, knowing that this day would be etched in their memories as the day Prince Nolan came to their territory and brought the wrath of a true Alpha.
Minutes later, the Alpha returned with his top lieutenants in tow. They looked just as apprehensive as he did, their expressions a mix of fear and defiance.
I motioned for them to follow me inside the main house, the tension palpable as we walked in silence.
This was the moment I had been waiting for. The moment to remind the Red Moon Pack of their place and to ensure they never forgot the consequences of crossing me.
