Chapter 300 Turn a corner
“If I stand up and be counted, you can inherit Bush Group in a legitimate way as well with little mess.” Chester was not boasting himself it was true that Bush Group was no match for his empire of wealth and with
his public support, Nova could take the company back with no sweat. After all, power talks.
But, it was not what Nova wanted.
The company founded by her father’s painstaking work should come back to her rein in the most aboveboard
way, and she didn’t mean to owe Chester too many favors since she knew that it couldn’t be returned by
anything but her love.
Which was unacceptable for her now in view of grandma and her ex–father–in–law. She was not ready for a more
intimate relationship with him.
Nova sighed inwardly, thinking longingly of her tasks. “Chester, your help is appreciated by me, but I hate to owe
you too much…”
“I’m just glad to help you out with it, you shouldn’t take my help as your burden, I ask for nothing from you.”
“Oh, just stop here and come back to the plan.” Nova’s face stretched into a shy smile at his words.
Chester turned his attention to the case. “You know, the investment of hundreds of billions is hardly peanuts.
and your company has every intention to be a freeloader”
Nova paused for a while before answering. “Well, it’s case tailor–made just for me. If not for me, they will not
allow this sort of crazy plan.”
Chester was amused, from the curve of his cheeks, but he didn’t say anything, waiting patiently for her to
continue.
Nova continued, ducking her head to hide her smile, “If we can see cooperation between us companies, I should
be the one in our group to follow the project and I can assure you that you can clean up it according to the
plan.”
Chester kept silent while studying her fragile face. Nova displayed no sign of emotions facing his searching.
eyes. She was remarkably poised, seeming to be unperturbed at his attitude toward the plan.
But why she ate out with him tonight?
She must come for something tonight but at the same time, she was ready for a nightmare scenario. So…she
was just determined to put the case through…”
Chester blinked, wondering. “I need to think about it carefully before I give you my reply.”
Nova kept up her smile in place and nodded in approval. “I fully understand that it’s a big deal for both of our
companies so it requires great deliberation. Just take your time, there’s no hurry. And, there are many specific
steps about the project, if you are really interested in it, I can explain it to you any time after we sign a
contract.”
Chester was about to crack a smile with resignation. “There is no possibility to take advantage of you every
time I run into you.”
Everyone knew that it was impossible to make use of Nova, after all, she was a matchless lawyer.
She beamed up at him. “No way, you have my sincere gratitude if we can make it successfully and I will bear it in my deep mind until the last second of my life, I promise. Chester Don, the person who help me retrieve the
situation when I’m floundering around in the fix, will be my true friend for my
whole life.”
Chester heard her words quietly, and then he heaved a deep sigh.
He was not sighing for the imminent trouble of the case. He was sighing for Nova’s gratitude, for she always being so clear about her feelings, for she always being so independent. He just wanted Nova to rely on him without saying thanks all the time. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
This project was hard to implement even though with enough funds and proficient personnel without Nova, he
was sure about this point.
Chester decided not to dwell on it. He tilted his head and smiled. “Fancy a movie?”
Nova was stunned for seconds by his sudden question.
Looking straight at him, she asked softly, “Chester, why do you keep approaching me all this long? What’s your
purpose?”
“May I ask, Miss Bush, do you read my Twitter for you? I’m not joking publicly.” His eyes narrowed as he leaned his body forward slightly.
Nova didn’t bat an eyelid when she heard that, but it was obvious that she assumed that from her quivering.
eyelashes. Her mouth opened, making no sound, but the expression in her eyes disclosed her thoughts. Isn’t it?
