The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold)

Chapter 117

Chapter 117

Leopold’s slender fingers tapped the desk lightly, his voice deep as he spoke, “This is not something

you need to consult me on, Aurelia. You can go straight to the Commerce Department yourself.”

Aurelia took a sip of water, trying to hide her frustration. If she could handle this herself, would she be

here? The Marketing Department’s skepticism had already spread throughout the company, and no NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

one believed in her “Destiny” product line anymore. And Chris, the Director of the Commerce

Department, was a slick player. Would he really help her, and invite all this trouble onto himself?

“Unless I tell Chris I’m the wife of the CEO of Astral Enterprises, do you think he would cooperate with

me?”

Her tone was slightly threatening, and Leo wasn’t deaf to it. He raised an eyebrow, his expression

subtly turning cold. “You want me to give orders to the Commerce Department?”

Aurelia shook her head, “No, that won’t be necessary. A simple email from Kevin would do.”

Kevin was Leopold’s right–hand man, his most trusted aide. His word was as good as Leopold’s.

Everyone knew that.

Leopold smirked, taking a sip of his coffee, deliberately remaining silent.

Aurelia had expected as much. To him, Evelyn must be like a bright moon in a clear sky, and his heart

was miles away, focused on her.

She sighed heavily, “Do you know why when I’m in trouble, the first person I think of is Arno? Because

he’s willing to help me. As soon as I ask, he agrees. And even if I don’t say anything, as soon as he

finds out, he’ll step in to help.”

With another heavy sigh, she continued, “A husband in name only really doesn’t mean anything, does

it? Always saying ‘come to me if you have any problems, but when the time comes, you hesitate. It’s

true what they say: you can only rely on your parents at home, and your friends when you’re outside.

No one ever says to rely on your husband. If you could rely on a husband, pigs could fly!”

With that, she rose, heading towards the door, “Sorry to bother you, Mr. Leopold.”

Just as she reached the door, a sharp voice called out, “Stop!”

Leopold’s face was ashen, his eyes flashing with cold anger.

In a swift move, he cornered her against the wall. “Are you trying to provoke me?”

“I’m just stating the truth.” She met his gaze, her eyes were sharp as the edge of a sword, “Thank God

my brother signed with Serenity Films, not Luminous Vision Media. Otherwise, he’d be left to fend for

himself and would choke on his own frustration!”

Her bitterness was like a balloon, inflating uncontrollably.

This was an unfair competition. Evelyn was constantly using her relationship with Leopold to gain

support, causing the old foxes in the company to favor her.

Leopold knew it but did nothing, sheltering and condoning it all.

His lips tightened at her words, the comparison driving him crazy.

“Arno wouldn’t help you without a reason, he must have ulterior motives. Don’t be fooled.”

She scoffed, “I don’t care, as long as I get the results I want.”

Leopold’s heart skipped a beat.

He was playing a larger game, and in it, she was the only unpredictable piece on the board.

“Playing mind games with me is pointless. I always keep my word. What I promised you, I will deliver.”

Aurelia’s lips curled into a sly smile, “Then I’ll rest easy. I’ll be waiting for Kevin’s email.”

Her smile was a sharp sting to his eyes.

He had been played by her again.

But this game, was damnably unwinnable!

How could he be outdone by Arnold?

He swiftly lifted her off her feet, carrying her to the couch and setting her down.

His hand rested on her belly, gently caressing it.

“You’re not planning on winning this by relying on some birds‘ love story, are you? Or do you have

another trick up your sleeve?”
