Chapter 659
"Really?" Noelle smiled and stretched out, leaning between the two seats. She looked up at the side of Charles's face and studied him for a while. It was hard to connect the mischievous kid Nancy had described to the man before her.
Charles caught the moment in the rearview mirror, his lips quirking into a sly grin. "What's up? Noticed your hubby's gotten even more dashing?"
"Cut it out. Aunt Nancy's right here!" Noelle's cheeks flushed a bright pink as she ducked away, diving back into conversation with Nancy. "What happened after that? Aunt Nancy, has Charles been with you since he was a kid?"
"Oh yes, he was such a well-behaved and clever boy. While other kids were still going through middle school and high school, he was skipping grades and heading straight to college." Nancy's face lit up with pride as she spoke of Charles. "I've cared for two kids, Charles and Stevie. They're both quite reserved. Charles is as sharp as a tack, and Stevie is obedient and so devoted. If my health hadn't taken a turn, I'd still be looking after them."
"Aunt, you've been amazing," Charles said, glancing over at Nancy. "Without you, there'd be no Charles today!"
Nancy had taught Charles everything he knew now with patience and dedication. She gave her all to raising both him and Steven.
"I know you're both good kids, but back then, it was a bit sad to see you so alone. It fills my heart to see you married now," Nancy said with a satisfied smile, gently squeezing Noelle's hand. "Noelle, you're sharp too. I'm so fond of you. I can tell that Charles has changed a lot ever since you and him got together. He's become so much more compassionate and warm-hearted!" Nancy could see it clear as day, and there was no fooling her.
"It's nothing as extreme as you're making it sound!" Noelle chuckled. "Charles was a total sweetheart from the moment we met. He was always there to rescue me when I needed it."
"That's awesome. It just proves you and Charles are meant to be. Remember, whatever comes your way, never give up on each other. Always trust each other and have each other's backs. Got it?"
"Got it, Aunt Nancy!" Noelle blushed but nodded with conviction. "Marrying Charles meant we're sticking together forever."Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

overheard Noelle and could not help but smile. His usual stoic demeanor and steely gaze softened as his eyes narrowed in a rare display of warmth. It was winter, but his expression made it feel like a gentle spring breeze was in the air.
The trio kept the conversation light and full of laughter as they drove, and before long, they pulled up to the Hoffman family's old house.
Noelle stayed in the car. Charles
stepped out first, opened the door for Nancy, helped her out, grabbed the luggage, and as he shut the door, he told Noelle, "Hang tight. I'll be right back."
"Sure!"
As Charles closed the door, a cheerful voice called out from behind, "Charles, you're back?" It was J. She yelled toward the old Hoffman house, "Aunt, guess who's here? It's Charles! He says he's missed you and just had to come by for a visit."
