99 Bloody Lashes And A Bullet To His Hear

Chapter 23

Sarah Miller's heart was a storm of emotions as she looked at the man before her.

Daniel Foster had a few buttons undone on his shirt, and there was a faint flush on his pale collarbone. The usuall cold and aloof man now looked strangely vulnerable, a sight that stirred all kinds of thoughts in her mind.

In her past life, it was this very Daniel who had seduced her, awakening desires that led to a decision she would regret for the rest of her life.

But later, she found out that Daniel and Emily Miller had been in love for a long time, only they hadn't yet confess their feelings before she came in and spent that night with him.

Perhaps it was fate that pitied her, giving her a second chance at life...

In this life, Sarah only had one thing she wanted to do- to bring Daniel and Emily together.

Without a moment's hesitation, she quickly took out her phone and dialed Emily's number.

Ten minutes later, Emily arrived in a rush.noveldrama

Sarah grabbed her hand eagerly. "I know he likes you, and you like him too. You just never had the right moment to make it clear. Now, with him drugged and needing you, this is the perfect chance to let your feelings show."

Emily had been skeptical when she received the call, and hearing Sarah's words now only added to her confusion. She was afraid there was some kind of trap.

"Sarah, what the hell are you playing at? Don't you like Daniel? Now that he's drugged, why aren't you taking advantage of it? Why call me here and try to help us get together?"

At these words, Sarah let out a self-deprecating laugh.

It was true-this was the very moment when everyone in town knew she was chasing Daniel.

Back then, she believed that if she tried hard enough, she could overcome the differences in status and age. But now, she realized that as long as he didn't love her, no matter how much she gave, all she'd have in the end was a lifetime of regret.

In her past life, she had been utterly wrong.

She shook her head. "I don't like him anymore. I won't like him ever again."

As soon as the words left her mouth, a muffled groan echoed from the room.

"He's about to break. If you don't go in now, it'll be too late."

Emily followed her gaze toward the room, hesitation flashing in her eyes.

In the end, Emily gritted her teeth, as if convinced. "Then what are you still doing here? Are you going to stand

outside and listen?"

Sarah stiffened for a moment, then stepped aside, letting the woman pass.

The moment Emily's hand touched Daniel's face, Sarah didn't hesitate to close the door tightly,

Moments later, muffled groans from the man and soft gasps from the woman filtered through the thick door and

into Sarah's ears.

The sounds of passion, one after another, hit Sarah's heart like a hammer, shattering it into pieces, leaving her

bloodied and broken.

She felt as if all her strength had drained away. She collapsed to the floor.

Tears poured from her eyes uncontrollably, but somehow, she felt an odd sense of relief.

At last, she could escape the fate of her past life.

Frantically wiping her face dry, Sarah stumbled back to her room.

That night, the two people in the room next door indulged in each other all night long.

Sarah, on the other hand, couldn't sleep a wink.

When morning came, her father's call came through.

"Sarah, how about coming abroad to live with your dad?"

A few years ago, the Miller Group planned to enter the international market, so Sarah's father went abroad alone. Fearing that he wouldn't have time to look after his daughter, he entrusted Sarah to his good friend, Daniel.

And that care lasted for several years.

Now that Daniel and Emily had finally confessed their feelings and were together, it was time for Sarah to leave and

live her own life.

Taking a deep breath, Sarah replied,

"Dad, I'm willing to go abroad."

It seemed her father didn't expect her sudden agreement. His tone became particularly excited.

"Sweetheart, you've finally figured it out! I've always told you Daniel wasn't right for you. You were too obsessed, and it was never going to work out! I've already found you a fiancé, someone you'll be happy with."

Her father's words made Sarah's already swollen eyes fill with tears again.

In her past life, her father had urged her the same way, but she stubbornly refused

to listen, wasting an entire life.

She pinched her palm and forced a smile.
