A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 39 Losing Face

Misunderstanding?!

Holly was about to explode with anger! With a hot head, she took a step forward and approached Mrs. Cather, pointing to the displayed artwork on the wall. “Mrs. Cather, I know this painting. It’s by Master Andrew…” Before Holly could finish her sentence, she noticed everyone staring at her.

“Why are you all looking at me like that?” Holly’s heart raced as Ranita gave her a sly smile, making her feel uneasy.

“Holly!” Brendon frowned and gave her an icy glare. “Just accompany Miss Anna and don’t interrupt.”

“I…” Holly felt embarrassed being scolded in front of everyone and glared back at Brendon. “Why are you so harsh?”

Brendon ignored her and turned to Mrs. Cather and the other guests with a stiff posture. “Sorry for my sister’s behavior; she doesn’t know any better.”

“I…” Holly seethed with anger as Brendon humiliated her in public again! She knew these things too; they were taught in school! Was it just Ranita who understood? Just because she spoke another language fluently?

“Shut up! Don’t say another word!” Brendon warned before giving Ranita a look.

Ranita had no choice but to explain slowly, “This painting called ‘Still Life With A Green Box’ is from Italian still-life master Morandi…”

As Ranita continued talking, Holly felt like exploding inside as she held back tears of frustration.

She got the the name wrong… she lost face!

Ah ah ah! Inwardly screaming with rage, especially when she looked up only to see everyone gathering around Ranita while ignoring poor little clown-like herself!

Holly’s heart was about to burst!

“Damn you, Ranita! You did it on purpose – flaunting yourself after humiliating me!”

“Miss, Mr. Stuart asked me to take you home!”Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

Holly angrily tried to catch up with the group, but was stopped by the auction house security and forcibly taken back to Boulderland Mansion.

Holly returned home in a rage and rushed over to Amiya, tears streaming down her face as she grabbed Amiya’s hand.

“What’s wrong, Holly?” Amiya saw her daughter crying and immediately asked anxiously. “Who bullied you?”

“Who else could it be?” Holly gritted her teeth and recounted what had happened at the auction house. After listening, Amiya patted her daughter’s hand gently. “Okay, stop crying.”

“I know you hate Ranita,” Amiya continued indignantly. “But this time you really did something wrong! Mrs. Cather is not easy to deal with. If Brendon gets into trouble because of this, he will definitely teach you a lesson!” Although she felt sorry for her daughter, Brendon was their support in the Stuart family.

“Mom…” Holly felt even more wronged now. “Whose side are you on? Ranita shamelessly keeps approaching my brother all the time and I can’t stand it!”

“And besides,” she muttered under her breath defiantly, “I’m not going to harm my brother.”

Amiya frowned slightly; clearly unhappy about what had happened.

“That’s enough; let this matter pass.” She paused for a moment before handing over a document, “Take a look at this!”

Holly sniffled as she opened up the document; once she read its contents properly though, she widened her eyes in surprise, “Is this true?”

Amiya calmly held onto a porcelain cup while sipping tea before replying icily, “Of course it is true! If you want revenge on Ranita, then go ahead.”
