Accidentally Married

Branch Forty Seven

“What do you mean by strong?” Jessica asked blinking multiple times.

“There is no doubt that you walking from the marriage would leave you with scars. Naturally, people would take Xavier’s side because of his power and how you are not powerful and rich. Also, there was that scandal about you”

“Since there was already a scandal before people would assume that it was true and then you would suffer the backlash. It is a lie, right? The scandal I mean?” Leslie said.

Jessica looked at her from the floor-length mirror. She wanted to desperately defend herself but if she could doubt that she was innocent then who was going to believe her ever?

“Why do I even ask? It’s obvious you are innocent” Leslie said quickly upon seeing the expression on Jessica’s face.

“It’s fine if you do not believe me. I would also criticize the person if I did not wear the shoe.” Jessica confessed.

“Of course, I do believe you, Jessica,” Leslie said defending herself. She only asked because you can never know with rumors. Jessica did not look like someone who would do such a thing. Leslie noticed the change in her friends countenance so she went to stand in front of her between herself and the mirror.

“What I am trying to say is that you need a way to protect yourself. If the society views you as a strong woman and not just the Delgado family lady then you would have those who would support you and thereby lessen the impact.” Leslie said.

She knew what society could do to those considered weak. She knew how we’ll and best they could better someone with words and actions. Jessica only got the top of the iceberg. Her husband dealt with it quietly and fast. If they were to be separated he would have no responsibility to her again.

“How can I do that? I can not live a repeat of the torture I went through all over again” Jessica voiced out.

She could not live with her phone blowing up and her name is mentioned in every place on the internet she turned.

“You need to be the typical boss lady,” Leslie said. The Sound of that statement made Jessca want to chuckle but maybe there is some sense in what she was saying.

“Teach me how,” Jessica said taking a deep breath.

She promised herself right there in that changing room that she was going to try her best not to get bullied again and especially not online. If she was going to leave the Delgado family she would make it seem as of it was Xavier that lost even if she was the one at a loss.

She was going to faithfully open up her restaurant and use her husband’s power to turn it into a hub for all business people to visit. She was going to be the real boss lady now.

“I would be your real tutor. Agreed?” Leslie asked happily.

“Agreed”

“I was going to come out and pose for you but you have seen the dress already,” Jessica said to Leslie.

Leslie smiled and said. “I would go out and act surprised so you can have your moment,” Leslie said turning and leaving the room.

“Oh well thank you” Jessica murmured as she left.

She pushed open the curtain and stood like a model. Her little talk with Leslie had boosted her mood. If she acted the part well she would be treated as the real woman and Lady of the Delgado family. She was going to act the part properly.

“Oh my Lady Delgado, you look stunning,” Trinity said.

“Do I?” Jessica said coming to look at herself in the mirror.

“Oh my goodness I think I would have to leave my husband and get married to you. You look beautiful” Leslie said clapping. True to her word she hyped and acted surprise at Jessica as she came out.

Jessica blushed a great deal. She barely had the opportunity to be complimented not to talk of this much and by two women who were not previously in her life. Leslie stood up and went to stand beside Jessica. She held her phone in one hand and Jessica’s phone in the other.

“First step is to use the internet in your favor,” Leslie said handing her the phone.

“Is it okay if we take pictures in this dress? She is going to buy it anyway” Leslie said turning to Trinity.

Trinity could not think of any other best way to advertise their products. It was not like they had issues with sales but anything recommended by a popular person sells put like fast not to talk of the lady Delgado. The lady Delgado had always been recognized as a fashion icon and it seemed like this lady was ready to take it up a notch.

“Of Course” Trinity answered excitedly but trying her all to hide her excitement.

“Let’s take stunning images and upload them and then tag the Gates fashion house,” Leslie said turning back to her friend.

“What kind of pictures?” Jessica asked.

She only has social media because she liked scrolling through them to pass the time.

“Beautiful and sexy kind of pictures. I would show you how to pose” Leslie said taking the phone and showing her different poses.

A few painful moments for Jessica later and Leslie was down taking about a hundred plus pictures and now she was seated screening them out.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“Go check out the other dresses. I would be in charge of posting these until you learn” Leslie said shooing her away.

Jessica tried on many other dresses and the body type she had made her look near perfect in most of them. In a few moments, Jessica’s post was blowing up and people were asking when they could buy the dress too.

Although the society would still have a few who hate for no reason the people who loved and complimented her overshadowed those who threw hate at her.

Reluctantly Jessica swiped the card that Xavier gave her. She knew he said she could use it for whatever she wanted she still felt bad using it to pay for such extravagant dresses.

‘You need these items to be stronger than you are now’ her subconscious mind told her.

“I would get strong,” she said before giving the cashier grinning from ear to ear her card.

“Shall we shop some more?” Leslie asked but pulled Jessica before she answer out the door and to the next store where the shopping goes on.
