Branch One Hundred and Seventy Six
Xavier was amused that the same woman who said she was afraid was now sound asleep. He chuckled to himself and pulled out his laptop to catch up on work. He had enough people to help him out with the work and he was more afraid of leaving the company to them for a few days. He just needed to do his part of the work.
He gently woke her up when he got there and she was amazed by the usual sight of Aurora Haven which was breathtaking. The car that Xavier and Brian had prepared was ready to pick them up at the hotel.
“Xavier” Jessica began as they entered the room. “Thank you it’s so beautiful” she completed turning back to face him.
He stood with the door closed behind them and winked at her. “You love winking don’t you?” she said with a smirk on her lips.
“Are you going to continue calling me Xavier like my comrade in the army?” he asked and she was amused at what he was thinking by asking her that.
“What do you mean? Xavier is your name is it not?” she asked him and he nodded.
“I know it’s my name it’s just that couples all over the world call each other endearing pet names but here you are calling me ever so formally” he replied and she laughed to herself.
She walked to him and stretched her hand to pat his head gently. “You act so cute sometimes, you know right?” she asked before turning from him and walking away.
“Where are you going?” he protested after her.
“To check out the hotel room that where,” she said as she walked into the bedroom of the suite. “So beautiful” she murmured to herself as she watched the city from the bedroom’s vast window.
“Not as beautiful as you though,” he said giving her a back hug.
“Who taught you a line like that?” she asked laughing.
“It’s not a line but the truth”
“So I am that beautiful?” she asked caressing his hands gently.
“You have no idea” he replied kissing her forehead.
“Okay so what is the first thing we are doing here?” she asked turning in his hands so she was facing him.
He pointed to the bed. “You know I overheard Dawson telling you something about a grandchild, we could begin there,” he said and she froze in his hands.
She had thought about it since he had confessed and they had agreed about having a normal couple-like relationship. She had always felt the bulge in his trousers whenever they were in such close proximity but she chose to ignore it.
The thought of going to bed with him was somewhat scary. She was a virgin all her life and she had always wanted to give it to the man she deemed fit.
“Xavier” she breathed heavily.
“it’s okay if you don’t feel comfortable…” he started when she put her hands over his mouth.
“I have never said I was not comfortable about it. I just want it to happen so naturally between us”
“It will,” he said planting a lingering kiss on her lips.
Jessica had insisted that they go on a food tour around the city because she really wanted to check out the local foods again. Xavier was okay with the idea because the idea of seeing her eyes sparkle as she did the food tasting was a warm feeling in his soul.
“What do you think about going on a shopping spree tomorrow?” as they sat down in one of the road by stalls.
Jessica was the one who wanted the food tour but she was beginning to feel so self-conscious about the environment since everyone was either pointing and whispering about them or trying to take pictures secretly.
“Jessica” Xavier said snapping his fingers in her face when she did not respond to him.
“Yeah,” she said snapping out of the worried trance she was in.
“You do not feel comfortable do you?”
“No, it’s okay” she replied.
Xavier must be used to the attention he was getting because he did not seem to be bothered about it. The thought that her husband was not only Chiachester City’s finest bothered her a bit and also made her proud too.
“You do not look okay”
“How do you know what I feel?” she asked.
“Because your face has this worried expression lingering on it and the corners of your lips are turned down instead of up. This meal is one heck of a meal and yet you have barely touched them” he replied like he was a detective who was stating the evidence of a case.
“The food is delicious,” she said taking up one of the stick foods in the paper plate in front of them and taking a small bite.
“This was not what I imagined when you said you wanted to come on a food date” he murmured trying to let his voice low so those on the table benches beside them do not hear.
“I am serious, it’s just that those people keep taking so many pictures of us. It’s making me bothered”
“Do you want me to do something about it?” he asked covering her hands with his.
“Can you?”
“Who am I?” he asked with a sarcastic tone and smirk on his lips.
He stood up and walked towards the women who were taking the pictures. They gasped seeing him walk towards them. To some that was a dream come true. They might get the opportunity to finally speak with the Xavier Delgado.
“You are making my wife very uncomfortable with the picture taking and whispering,” he said bending so his hands were on the table.
“Sorry” one of the girls said her voice coming out squeaky like a mouse. Looking at them up close he could see that they were barely out of their teenage years.
“It’s illegal to take pictures of others” he added as the five of them scrambled to their feet.
“You were just so handsome sitting there we could not resist taking the pictures” another spoke. She seemed to be the spokesperson of the group.
“It’s my charm” he said and the three of them gasped.
“Can you take a selfie with us?”
