When Olivia Xia rapped on the car window, she distinctly felt a pair of sharp eyes shoot out from inside.
In just a blink, that intense gaze was replaced by a dumbfounded stare.
With displeasure wrinkling her brow, Olivia Xia gestured for the other party to roll down the window.
But before Xavier Si could wind down the window, a group of thugs, dressed in black, suddenly appeared outside the bar, quickly approaching and surrounding Olivia Xia.
The leader of the thugs stepped forward, a menacing grin on his face. "Well, well, what do we have here? Looks like a pretty lady in need of some... assistance."
Olivia's eyes narrowed as she assessed the situation. She wasn't one to back down easily. "What do you want?" she demanded.
The leader chuckled darkly. "It's simple. Hand over your valuables, and we won't have any trouble."
Xavier Si, now fully aware of the situation, quickly opened the car door and stepped out, positioning himself protectively in front of Olivia. "I don't think that's going to happen," he said calmly, his voice laced with an unspoken threat.
The leader's grin faltered slightly, but he tried to maintain his bravado. "You think you can take all of us on, pretty boy?"
Xavier's eyes were cold as ice. "Try me."
Before the leader could respond, Xavier moved with lightning speed, disarming the nearest thug and using the weapon to fend off the others. His movements were precise and controlled, showing a level of skill that took the thugs by surprise.
Olivia watched in awe as Xavier systematically took down the thugs one by one. She had known he was capable, but seeing him in action was a different experience altogether.
Within minutes, the thugs were either unconscious or fleeing the scene. The leader, now visibly shaken, scrambled to his feet and ran off, shouting threats over his shoulder.
Xavier turned to Olivia, concern replacing the earlier intensity in his eyes. "Are you okay?"
Olivia nodded, her heart still racing from the adrenaline. "I'm fine, thanks to you."
Xavier's expression softened. "Let's get out of here before they decide to come back with reinforcements."
He opened the car door for Olivia, who quickly got in. Xavier slid into the driver's seat and started the engine, driving away from the bar and the chaos they had just escaped.
As they drove in silence, Olivia couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. She was grateful for Xavier's protection, but she also felt a growing curiosity about his past and the skills he had just displayed.
Finally, she broke the silence. "Xavier, how did you learn to fight like that?"
Xavier glanced at her, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Let's just say I've had some training."
Olivia's curiosity deepened, but she decided not to press him further. She knew there was more to Xavier Si than met the eye, and she was determined to find out what it was.
For now, she was content to enjoy the safety of his presence and the comfort of the car ride, knowing that whatever challenges lay ahead, she wasn't facing them alone.
