Chapte two: The Forest
Chapte two: The Forest
That night as I lay in my bed I thought that those eyes were the most magical thing I had seen. They
looked a type of unreal that was too real.
They had something unique in them and that was what sparked my curiosity to visit that forest even
more.
I wanted to capture them. Not because they would surely grant me an A but because I wanted the
proof for myself that what I had seen was real.
But who did they belong to?
Was it a mountain lion? Or maybe a dog? Or maybe some alien? Or maybe a wolf?
And this thought scared me. Eventhough, I was a nature person but the big animals like dogs and
wolves really scared me.
...
The morning arrived like it was supposed to.
And also I didn't need an alarm to wake me up. Now you would be wondering that I was in such a
beautiful place full of nature so I would have woken up to the sun rays or the chirping of the birds but
let's keep that to the movies.
I woke up to the moaning of Amelia. So carefully I peeked through my blanket to see that make out
session in full swing.
"God find a room!" I screamed as I ran out of the room.
"That's what we did!" I heard Greyson shout back.
Asshole!
And now I was clearly awake and had nothing to do.
Well that was wrong. I had lots to do.
The first thing included taking a bath in the room which apparently Mike and Greyson were sharing.
And after eating some delicious pancakes, I grabbed Mike's hoodie since I could no longer go into my
own room and my camera and set out for exploration .
Now as much as I wanted to go into the forest infront of me, I decided it had to wait.
This was due to two reasons. The first reason being those eyes. They sparked my curiosity but, as I
now thought about them they felt too fake to be true.
Who could they belong to? And even if it was an animal then why would it keep staring at me and not
lunge towards me and eat me in a single bite. If felt like maybe I had a hallucination. Maybe I felt that I
saw those eyes because I really wanted to go to that forest.
The second reason was fear. The forest felt like it was abandoned. Not explored by humans. And that
meant that it could have some pretty dangerous animals.
But this did not mean that I had changed my plan of going there, it only meant that I had postponed it a
little. Only until I was able to convince Amelia, Mike and Greyson to accompany me.
.....
So I spent the whole day exploring the areas in the forest that we were currently living in. It had been
explored by humans so I doubted I had find some undisturbed nature, but after a good walk I was able
to find some beautiful wild flowers.
After capturing them in the lenses, I was also able to find some insects like Lady bugs, Grass hoppers
and ants. But what amazed me about this forest was the trees.
The undisturbed trees.
Due to the only cottage being situated there, minimum number of trees had been cut and it amazed me Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
to see the wonderful growth of them. They stood long with their resinous barks and elongated leaves.
Their leaves sparkled as the rays of the sun shined on them. So I put down my camera and sat on the
ground resting my back on a tree trunk as I took my moment of silence.
This was something my best friend has introduced me to. Sometimes when anxiety hit us hard or we
felt pressurized in between of our hectic schedules we used to find a place close to nature.
And we would just close our eyes as we would drain everything from our minds. Soon our breathing
would become relaxed and calm and for just sometime we would forget about our problems and when
we opened our eyes we would feel so light that it amazed me.
So that's what I did. But due to the environment being extra peaceful my moment of silence lasted
longer than I expected.
And maybe I still wasn't gonna open my eyes if I didn't feel the raindrops dropping on my face. And as
soon as I did, my journey back to the cottage included some slips and me looking like shit as my only
priority was to save my camera from getting wet.
Which I successfully did.
Told you independent!
You would be thinking that I would receive a good scolding from my parents once I arrived home, but
they were used to this.
So I just received a long stare from them and a compliment from Mike which said:
"Woah you look so good in my hoodie!"
....
Night had arrived and we had just finished having dinner.
Eventhough, it was a little wet outside but I wanted to go out. I wanted to see if those eyes came out
again or not or were they even real or not. I knew I would face a little disappointment if they didn't show
up but it was worth a try.
So just as everyone went to bed, I slipped out.
The air smelled that scent of after the rain and it was literally my favourite.
My first instinct was to look at the forest but it was damp, no sign of those eyes there but still I was
reluctant to lose hope.
So I took out my diary and started writing:
Dear Diary,
I don't know what I'm doing right now but it's like I can't stop myself. Yesterday as I sat here, I think I
saw two blue eyes staring at me though the forest. And eventhough, it's too impossible to be true but
I'm here yet again. It's just that those eyes really intrigued me...
Just as I was writing I felt a rustle in the bushes and immediately my eyes went to the forest.
And as unrealistic as it sounds there they were. Those blue eyes staring at me again.
But this time I wasn't gonna get scared. I had promised myself that if I did see them again I would
capture them in my camera.
So very slowly I stood up, as I grabbed my camera and started walking down the stairs not averting my
gaze from those eyes for even one second.
And that was my mistake.
I was so intrigued with those eyes that I forgot the stairs were wet due to the rain and suddenly my foot
slipped as my head hit the ground.
And that was it I thought. The end of my secret adventure.
Only until I felt someone pick me up.
And I realised it was just the start.
