Chapter 0260
NOAH
"Did you say her mate rejected her?" Kendra ask.
"Yes, and beaten up afterward to make her it," I explain.
"I don't feel a wolf, and her bruises are not healing," Kendra says carefully.
"She never had one," Dad says, and Kendra looks at him with questions in her eyes.
"Her mom is human, and her dad is half-human. In the Silverstone family, when my dad's dad was a teenager, they had a son who had a human mate. All their kids got wolves. One of them was a boy. It must be her dad. I know he had kids, two boys, and a girl. The girl showed no sign of having any of our senses." Dad explains.
"Okay, yes, it must be her. And sadly that doesn't make any of this better. Humans have less chance to survive a rejection when done directly. Most of the time, wolves reject a human Nate. They do it without the humans' knowledge. Simply because they, most of the time, don't know our world and don't know what pain means. They move on quicker and don't know what they lost." Kendra explained.
"This girl, she grew up with us. She has seen the matebond a thousand times. She knows what she was losing," Kendra finishes.
"Anything you can do?" Dad asks.
"Not much I am afraid, I will ask she get moved to the hospital. And her family needs to be notified." Kendra says.
"I will call for someone to come bring her there, and then I will talk to Luca's Dad so he can tell her parents," Dad answers.
Both Dad and Kendra go into a mindlink, and I assume Dad contacts Luc's father and Kendra at the Hospital. Dad comes out of a mindlink and into another, which only takes a few seconds.
"Maja's family will come to the hospital, and transport for her is on its way," Dad says.
"Thank you, my king. And you, my King, did a very good thing saving her. Remember that, no matter the outcome, you did save her." Kendra tells me. And I nod my head.
"Thank you, Kendra," Mom says. And Kendra bows her head in respect.
It doesn't take long before the wolves transporting Maja to the hospital are here, and Kendra leaves with them. Dad told her we would be there soon, and I am happy he said that. I want to know what will happen. Knowing this could have been my loving sister a few years ago when her first Mate rejected her.
Not long after Maja had been picked up, Dad, Mom, and I left to go see her and her family. I had mindlinked Enzo, and as my beta, I felt he

should know what was happening.
He wanted to come, but I knew that right now, he would be spending time with Antonio. So, I told him I would mindlink him if I needed him.
"It's is not looking good, Logan." I hear Dr. Joseph tell Dad.
"Dammit, I wonder when rejecting your made so harshly became a trend. Rejection happens, we know. But beating her up!." Dad growled lowly, and Joseph took a step back.
Dad was a great king, and he had done many things for the people of America. But he was also feared. He was the first lycan after they had been gone for over a thousand years. No one wanted to mess with Dad, those who had, always ended up regretting it.
"Is there anything you can do?" I asked, and Joseph looked at me sadly.
"I'm afraid not. Her heart is weak and slowing down, if she was a wolf then maybe. And I tried searching for even the smallest sign of one but found nothing." Joseph says.
Before we can say more, we hear a small scream of sorrow from a room down the hall. Joseph immediately rushes there, and we follow him down the door. Inside Maja on the bed her family is there, a woman, her mom I assume crying by her bed. The sound of her cry

sound of the heart rate machine, no
beeping sound, just one Loud,
straight tone. Maja was gone.
"DAMMIT," I yelled when we got home. For the past over, I had fought to keep my frustration away. Dad grabbed me right away and made me look at him.
"Training room, now." He said and I did what he said, and he followed me.
Entering the room, I went straight to the boxing ball and started hammering at it. Dad didn't say anything. He just stood there for over an hour, waiting. The sound
of the heart rate machine and her mother's cry rang in my head.
I never understood why wolves would reject the one person who is meant to be everything they can need in this world. I would only doût if I knew she wasn't suited to be a queen caring, loving, and with a good heart. I don't care if she is human, I'm strong enough to protect her, or any possible future kids.
Maja was gone simply because some idiot had so high thoughts of himself that he only saw what she wasn't. Not what she was or what she could have become in the future.
I sat down on my knees and I did something I never thought I would, I cried. I felt Dad's hand on my shoulder, holding it tight, and he stood there for a while before he spoke.
"Let it out, son, let it out..." He said, and I did.
What do you think?
