Chapter 1468
Waverly could understand the nature of the woman's clothes with ease judging from the purpose of the event. Since the woman claimed to have her difficulties and was seemingly selling herself out, it was reasonable for her to try to highlight her advantages. She had to make sure her physical advantages stand out, but she couldn't be too direct and vulgar. It explained why the woman had chosen the outfit. With her tight clothes, her figure was crystal clear. Under the white light, the woman wore black clothes. The contrast between the two was clear, allowing all guests present to take a good look at her skin color and appearance.noveldrama
She had to admit that the woman was breathtakingly gorgeous, especially after she had applied makeup. There was no lack of charm to her, plus, she was young. Although her skin wasn't fair to fit the beauty standards, she was considered to be a beautiful woman. The key to her charm was her amazing figure, fitting the model of a perfect sculpture. It was especially the case for her eye-catching upper body. That said, everyone had their shortcomings. According to her dress, Waverly could roughly tell that everything was perfect except for the slightly dark skin and curved legs, which were weaknesses covered underneath the black cloth. It, however, did not affect being able to tell that the lady was sexy and well-behaved with her long hair swaying behind her shoulders at a glance. She was captivating!
Recalling Wyatt's love for her and how he referred to her as the "young widow" from time to time, Waverly couldn't help thinking about whether he was as concerned about enjoying a woman's first time as other men would be. After all, others would advocate the rarity of a woman's first time. Some would go to the extent of making jokes about how men should start hunting for wives from kindergarten. Would he be seduced by the woman? Would he manipulate the fair excuse to take advantage of her?
After all, Wyatt was a living beast, who was skilled at deceiving and coaxing women. She was one of the victims, so she knew it well!
Waverly believed that it was what he was capable of doing, so she couldn't help doubting whether it was an accident or on purpose.
It was an entertaining event, but why did he tell her that it was for business purposes? Ha!
"Would this activity be his main purpose here instead?" She pondered.
No way!
Why would he bring her along if he were to plan to do so? On second thought, Waverly came up with a reasonable explanation, Wyatt was using her as a shield. He wanted to kill two birds with one stone!
Strictly speaking, although they shared an intimate relationship several times, she had yet handed herself over to him. To him, she was a fish. Although he had tasted her, he had yet swallowed her up. She had to bear half of the responsibility for his bid. By then, if he were to cheat on her, wouldn't he have the chance to push all the blame on her?
It was no wonder that he had wanted to snatch her 1 carat pink diamond and wasn't willing to give it to her. Was he going to use it to win the cheap lady on the stage over?
As her thoughts ran wild, Waverly's mind surged with all sorts of twists and turns. Her thoughts had undergone a huge transformation. Little would Wyatt expect him to take the chance to invite Waverly out for a date attending a social event he could not avoid having a completely different meaning in her eyes.
The more he looked forward to someone coming to his rescue, the quieter the scene was. Anyone who knew him had a clear understanding of his wealth. Once he set his eyes on something, others would never go against him other than his deadly enemies, seeing how Sky Success Group was right then at the peak of its development.
After all, it was evident how the economic situation of the year turned out to be. Real estates were at its plateau, showing signs of a slight decline, whereas information technology had risen sharply. Everyone was eager to curry favor with him. That was why dead silence followed, without anyone raising their number plates to call for a higher bid!
What upset Wyatt was that he was ignored the moment he could finally locate an acquaintance. His pleading eyes turned to Mr. Lin, but he received a toast as a congratulatory response. Pissed, he could barely hold back from vomiting blood on the spot.
The host spoke with a slight draw. "500,000!" The third time!
The auction hammer was raised mid- air. Once the hammer fell, the auction would
be over. According to the rules, the most exciting moment was towards the end of the auction to give more candidates the time to think. The final syllable was almost a century away.
The woman on the stage had her gaze land on the audience, her heart pounding. Her hands were crumpled and twisted in nervousness. Her unfathomable expression altered under the light, unknown to others the thoughts going on in her mind.
On the other hand, Wyatt remained to hold onto Waverly with both their faces horrifyingly dark! Just when everyone thought it was a deal, an arrogant male voice pierced through the air.
"550,000!"
A rough voice broke the silence, the owner seemingly wealthy. Hearing the sound, Wyatt took an obvious deep breath and was on the verge of bursting into tears of
joy.
That was close!
The light cast from above the two finally began to shift. Looking in the direction of the light, Waverly instinctively turned around to see three men appearing at the door. The leader of the troop had a tall and sturdy build with well-defined facial features as well as a sleek undercut. Both sides of his head were shaved with the top of his head styled with hair wax. Under the light, the gloss shone. Holding a number plate in one hand, he seemed to be holding a pair of sunglasses in the other. The corners of his beautiful lips were raised to an evil arch, highlighting his macho.
The two men behind him were seemingly his minions. Although they were dressed
in suits and leather shoes, they seemed to resemble eunuchs in an emperor's clothes. There wasn't much authority to them.
The host was briefly stunned before he continued, "Mr. 57, 550,000! Is there anyone else who wishes to raise the price?"
Everyone's gazes shifted away, and darkness soon returned to their surroundings. Upon recovering her senses, Waverly nudged the man beside her without the slightest mercy. "Why aren't you letting me go so that you can go ahead to continue chasing after her?"
Before Wyatt could breathe a sigh of relief, he came to an instant realization that there was bigger trouble waiting for him. Scoffing, Wyatt questioned himself if he had been bored out of his mind. "I shouldn't have teased her if I knew this would happen!"
"Why? Are you jealous?"
"That's right! I know that no matter
how many times I return to my mother's womb, I can never be compared to her! I know what I look like, and I know my place. I deserve a bag which costs only a few hundred dollars. I feel ashamed of myself, so let me go, won't you?"
Waverly ferociously chided, her words revealing her hidden emotions. The underlying meaning behind her words was self-evident. She was a young widow unworthy of pricey gifts, so she was only deserving of a bag. The woman on the stage was worth more than hundreds of thousands of dollars, so she was the one that deserved the pink diamond.
Her self-abasement was a poisonous spike that stabbed into Wyatt's ears,
piercing his heart. All at once, his heart threatened to shatter...
