Chapter 1561
Although finding it childish, Wyatt couldn't help chuckling like a young boy feeling sweet after tasting love for the first time the moment his eyes fell on the wrist. Similarly, Waverly giggled.
"Hee hee, I have no objection!"
As if his gaze was captured by her beautiful smile, Wyatt came to a slow pause, noticing how beautiful her innocent smile was that the sun and moon seemed to shyly hide behind the clouds.
Just as he was about to make a move, a soft touch seemed to brush against his lips on purpose. As he lowered his head, Waverly escaped from his arms with a swish, giggling as she kept a distance from him.
"I'm hungry. Let's eat! I want some milk tea!"
Not knowing whether it was intentional, Waverly's lips curled to a pout with her words fading away. In that instant, Wyatt itched all over, feeling his blood boil as if he was covered thoroughly in lice, yet she had a harmless smile on her face!
Raising his hand, Waverly gave a soft poke on her forehead. "My baby, you're naughty..."
She had learned to flirt with him. Wasn't she afraid that he might not be able to control himself?
"Birds of a feather flock together!" Pulling his hand, Waverly slowly placed it back on the steering wheel as she announced with pride.
He mustn't be in control every time!
They started the car engine. Along the way, the two of them bickered, the air lingering with warmth and affection. After they got off the carriage, Wyatt held Waverly in his arms as they snuggled and flirted. Occasionally, passion overwhelmed him, and Wyatt would not hide stealing a kiss on her cheeks and rewarding himself. On the way, their eyes were so full of each other that they could no longer tolerate anyone else!
At the gate of the florist across the street, holding two yellow and white bouquets, Qiirina witnessed them entering the hotel before she slowly turned sideways and got into a black Porsche.
The afterglow of the setting sun slanted, seeping in through the gap of the leaves. Yurina stood in front of the tombstone for a long time before she placed the bouquet of white lily flowers mixed with yellow- white chrysanthemums on the tomb.
"Do you regret it? Sacrificing your life for such a woman?"
"How long have you been away? She has already thrown herself into another man's arms with a big smile!" Yurina muttered to herself with a scoff.
As if she had stood still for another century, her drifting voice sounded once more, "Is appearance that important? Franklin, if you're given another chance to be reborn, will you make such a choice?"
After a sneer, Yurina's eyes were filled with deep sorrow as her drooping fingers clenched tightly into fists.
"Haha, you men are indeed all liars! Without
an eye-catching appearance, what's the point of being beautiful on the inside?
You won't notice the kindness of a woman, nor will you make an effort to do so. You're the same, so is he..."
They were all shallow and vulgar beats!
Gazing at the solemn yet unconcealable handsomeness of the figure on the tombstone, she didn't know how long she had stood rooted to the spot until darkness engulfed her vision, along with the blurring of the figure. After turning on the portable flashlight, she turned sideways and silently disappeared into the empty night.
Sweet time flew. In the blink of an eye, it was the weekend. It was rare for Wyatt not to go on a business trip, and as Waverly cherished the time when they were together, she took the initiative to come to his house after she brought her things along. Of course, the main reason for doing so was to prevent others from taking her place. She thought it would be better to do everything herself.
On that day, Waverly cooked in person.
Kitchen work was a compulsory course for her growth, but she had not put her skills into practice. Later, she brushed up on her cooking skills when she wanted to please her mother-in-law and husband after getting married. Of course, more importantly, she wanted to play the role of a responsible mother!
Perhaps since she felt regretful for not having her biological mother by her side during her growth, there was an unforgettable belief in her mind. In the future, she had to take care of everything that was related to the child and participate in all events. It was why in her subconscious mind, she would expand her knowledge and skills in everything related to life.
It was a piece of cake for her to stir-fry a few dishes. When she saw that the fish was ready in the kitchen, she placed it into the steamer and switched it on before turning around to get the ingredients for velveting the fish ready. She was used to velveting steamed fish. It was a light meal that she would not get sick of, not to mention how savory it tasted.
As soon as Wyatt returned home, he dashed to the kitchen and expected her to turn the kitchen into a garbage dump. To his surprise, he found everything in an orderly manner, and the mouthwatering fragrance of the dishes filled the air as soon as he stepped into the kitchen!
Never would he have expected her to be so capable. She was virtuous!
Wyatt had initially had no hope in that aspect, but at the moment, he was pleasantly surprised.
The thought had flashed through his mind when he heard a sudden cry of alarm. "Hu hu..."
When he came back to his senses, he found her adorably pinching her ears and pacing around in anxiousness. Wyatt strode over, lifted the big dish from the steamer, and set it on the table.
She fetched the anti- hot bowled clip and turned around. Their eyes met, and Waverly was stunned. "When did he get here?" She pondered.
"You can't take praises, can you?!"
After a clap to slap the dust off, Wyatt took her hand and scanned it, asking, "Were you scalded?"
Waverly shook her head in a trance and said, "Were you praising me?" Why didn't she hear him?
Then a sizzling sound came. As if she remembered an important issue, Waverly turned off the fire on the stove. After stirring the slurry with a thick fragrance, she evenly poured it on the steaming fish.
"Perfect! It almost got burnt! Take it over, and well dig in!"
As she directed Wyatt, she turned around and speedily washed the small pot.
Looking at her smooth movements, Wyatt was in a trance for a brief while. The only thought he had in his mind was that the person in front of him...was unfamiliar!
Cooperatively, he served the plate on the table by the side. Right then, there were two vegetable dishes on the table, consisting of stir-fried cauliflower and scrambled eggs with tomatoes, as well as shredded chicken with green peppers stir- fried. Not knowing how they tasted, the dishes were streaming and scrumptious from the outlook.
While he was dumbfounded, Waverly came over with cutleries and plates as well
as steamed bread rolls. Leaning against him, she asked with a smile, "What did
you praise me for just now?"
Was he praising her for being gentle, beautiful, and virtuous? Was she commended for being a wife who excelled in housework and social life?
Blinking her sparkling eyes, Waverly was instantly excited. "I didn't hear you. Say
it again..."
Hearing praises from him must indeed be a different experience!
Taking his seat, Wyatt's eyes were squinted with his meaningful gaze on her.
"Say it again..."
Waverly untied her apron and tugged at his arm. She was standing with expectation brimming in her eyes.
"Want to hear it?"
Waverly gave a firm nod. She did it, and he praised her. It was a pity if she didn't hear it!
At the thought of how she was going to be praised, she was cocky like a peacock that was about to open its feathers wide.
With a wave of Wyatt's hand, she bent over and moved her ears close to him, followed by a low, hoarse voice with a stream of heat slowly drifting into her ear.
"You're so chic with an apron on and a nice curve. It's so sexy. We should do something else..."
Feeling her flushed ears, Waverly was so pissed that she was near to vomiting blood on the spot. She gave him a hard push, turned around, and sat on a nearby chair before reaching out to grab a steamed bread roll and take a deep bite.
"Wyatt Johnson!"
Something was fishy. She stuffed the steamed bread roll into his mouth and warned, "Don't talk!"
With her face as red and flushed as a tomato, Waverly shifted her gaze and hurriedly picked up her cutleries, muttering to herself, "I shouldn't have expected him to say decent words!"
Recalling how busy she had been carefully preparing dinner, worrying over the combination of vegetables and meat, Waverly's heart boiled with rage once she was reminded of how Wyatt's mind had been filled with indecent thoughts behind
her.
Wyatt didn't mind the steamed bread roll she had taken a bite of. Acknowledging that it tasted good, he swallowed it down.
The steamed bread rolls were ready- made when Waverly had bought
them. It was small, so Wyatt swallowed it with just two bites, His squinted eyes were glistening with soft light as he took a bite of the green- peppered shredded chicken. Unexpectedly, it was surprisingly delicious. Without realizing it, his gaze turned to the side. Sensing his scorching gaze, Waverly felt all the more uncomfortable. As if she was sitting on pins and needles, she did not understand what went wrong that stimulated his sexual desire. Dropping her gaze, her eyes swept past her body before she turned sideways and shot him a glare. Only then did she reach forward to pick up a piece of vegetable.
What was he looking at her for? Why wouldn't he eat?
She would never wear tight-fitting clothes again!
The key was that the clothes she wore at the moment were casual clothes.
Was he trying to get her wear maternity clothes in advance then? Seeing that the little beauty before his eyes was so embarrassed that she could
not enjoy a proper meal, Wyatt smiled and placed the fish on her plate. "Alright, eat more. I was just kidding!"
Something occurred to her. Glowering at him, Waverly slowly turned to face the
table. "What a rogue!"
"I didn't boil any soup. Would you like some water? Or milk, or milk tea! Perhaps...
You'd better not drink coffee. You won't be able to sleep well after drinking it
tonight!"
"Well, I'll have some water!"
As Waverly got to her feet, Wyatt grabbed her wrist.
"I'll do it! Sit down and have a good meal. Look at your tiny bit of food. Eat more!
Don't drink milk tea. Milk tea is not good stuff. Drink less of it in the future!" Wyatt then served a glass of warm water and a glass of milk.
A simple meal was a rare delicacy. Both of them were satisfied as they almost finished all the dishes. A streamed bread roll was left.
After drinking the last bit of milk and remembering an important issue, Waverly
turned her anxious gaze to him. "I almost forgot. Are you free next Wednesday night?"
"What's the matter? Anything wrong?"noveldrama
Waverly responded with a hum.
After a brief moment of hesitation, Waverly explained.
"I want to have dinner with you! My dad wants to come over to meet a friend, so
he's here to check on me in the meantime. I want to have dinner with you, nothing else. Is it convenient for you?"
It was a coincidence that her father was around to deal with a private issue. She invited her father over for a get-together, but in fact, she wanted her father's help in making sure Wyatt was a reliable partner!
What do you think?
