Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Daniel ran around the subway station several times but couldn’t see Olivia, and finally, he leaned back against the wall in dismay, his handsome face covered with exhaustion and annoyance.
He ruffled his sweat–dampened hair on his forehead and snorted out a laugh as he looked at the patterns on the gray brick wall of the subway aisle.
“How could it be that girl?” he thought.
She was smart and ruthless, and as long as she was serious about hiding from him, there was no way he could find any trace of her.
Thinking of that ruthless girl, Daniel gave his face a quick rub, and his deep black eyes were filled with desolation.
He thought, “It has been four years. Where in the world did that girl hide? Does she really not miss me at all? Even if she doesn’t miss me, she should miss Andrew.”
A handsome and sad man leaning against the wall alone was easy to attract the attention of people around. In such a short time, there were already several groups of people slowing down to sneak a look at him.
Among them were young and bold girls who took out their cell phones and tried to take photos of him.
Realizing that he was being photographed, Daniel raised his eyes and cast a cool glance over, and the young girl who was secretly
photographing him immediately put away her cell phone and stepped
back.
Daniel could still hear the girl talking to her companion when she walked away. She said, “He’s so handsome! But his aura is too strong and even a bit intimidating.”
The companion nodded. “Yeah, that’s true. My heart skipped a beat when he looked over.”
“Scared, huh?” asked the girl.
“No. Only because he’s too handsome!”
Hearing her friend’s answer, the girl snorted.
The Taylor family’s dinner party started at 8 o’clock, but people were already arriving one after another at 7 o’clock. The ones who came first.

were some small businessmen who wanted to arrive early to expand their connections and do some business, and it would be even better if they could get involved with the four great families of Evervale.
Other than that, there were some media. Usually, when a wealthy family held a dinner party, it was all about business and rarely invited the media. At most, they would inform some financial journalists, but this time was different.
The Taylor family wanted to formally introduce Olivia, who had just returned home, so they needed the media to publicize the event. The media that came over were all related to the Taylor family, and the reporters present were all very sensible. They would not twist the facts and add nonsense to the report. They all stayed on the side, eating or chatting, and did not shoot indiscriminately.
Some reporters were experienced in the field, and because they were often in contact with wealthy families, they understood some of the complicated and implied information inside.
One of them looked around the banquet hall and looked at William, who especially rushed back from abroad this afternoon. Sideways, he
whispered to his companion, “The Taylor family cares a lot about this newly found daughter.”
His companion was eating, his mouth stuffed to the brim. Hearing such a sentence out of the blue, he could not react and stared blankly over.
Seeing this, the reporter frowned and said unhappily, “Behave yourself a little bit, can you? Haven’t you ever seen the food? How embarrassing it
is!”
The companion swallowed what was in his mouth and took a sip of a glass of sweet wine, saying, “This is so delicious. I won’t be able to eat it more than a few times in my life, so of course, I have to eat more of it. As for embarrassing or whatever, I’ve been a reporter all my life, not a public figure. Besides, these are all big shots here, so who knows me? I’m not afraid of being embarrassed.”
After explaining, he asked curiously, “Hey, you said the Taylor family cares a lot about the daughter. How can you tell?” How could he not see anything?
The reporter pointed out a few details. “Do you see it? All things here are well–prepared, and I’ve heard that this dinner party was personally arranged by Mrs. Taylor.”

The companion did not understand and scratched his head. “She is Ms. Taylor’s mother. Who else should prepare for it other than her?”
The reporter glared at his companion, speechless at his st* pidity. “Given Mrs. Taylor’s status, there is no need for her to do it herself. A random order from her will have people rushing to serve her, and at that time, she will only have to make a request and check the final results.”
“How wealthy they are!” exclaimed the companion.
“Also,” the reporter pointed to William in the middle of the crowd, “the business that Mr. William is doing abroad this time is very important, but he still returned ahead of time to this dinner party. Rumors have it that if the cooperation from overseas is accomplished, it will break the pattern of the four great families.”
This time, the companion understood and stared at the reporter with his wide eyes. “Can it surpass the Sullivan family?”
“What are you talking about?” The reporter was speechless. “The Sullivan family has long left the other three behind and is no longer on the same level as them. It’s just that other people habitually call them
the four great families. At most, the Taylor family can only surpass the Turner family and the Green family.”
Compared to Olivia, the companion was obviously more concerned about the Sullivan family. He asked, “I heard that Daniel is coming back this time. I wonder if he’ll bring Mr. Andrew with him.” Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
The reporter patted him and warned, “Don’t be too concerned about or pry into Mr. Sullivan’s affairs. He doesn’t like us to take photos of him, so you’d better be careful. It won’t be too bad if you piss off Mr. Sullivan and bring yourself trouble, but if you implicate our office, it’ll be a big problem.”
The companion was stunned and hurriedly changed the topic. “Bro, how do you think of Miss Olivia compared to Miss Emma?”
“How can they be compared?” The reporter was simply speechless to his companion’s dumb brain. “Miss Emma is the top lady in Evervale. She is noble, elegant, sensible, and kind–hearted, often engaging in charity work. As for Miss Olivia, outsiders flatter her for the sake of the Taylor family, but in reality, everyone knows in their heart what she is.”
The companion nodded. “That’s true. Even if Miss Olivia got lucky and was raised in an average rich family, she, at most, studied at a good university. But in terms of knowledge and demeanor, given the Taylor

family’s underpinnings, she is definitely not comparable to Miss Emma.” “It’s all external.” The reporter experienced more and knew more. “The key is the inner. Think about it. She’s originally an ordinary
person who should lead a mediocre life, but one day, she suddenly becomes the daughter of a top family and is surrounded by an outstanding adoptive daughter who is superior to her in every way. If it were you in her place, would you be able to keep a steady state of mind?”
Listening to the reporter say so, the companion suddenly felt the same way. He said thoughtfully, “Speaking of which, this Miss Olivia is also pitiful. She is originally the daughter of a wealthy family, but she has lost her way and grown up in an ordinary family. She is a true princess, but as a result, she has become a poor nobody.”
Quite many people thought the same way as the reporter and his companion.
The people who could attend this dinner party were all of high quality, and most of them felt pity for Olivia in their hearts.
A well–informed person, who knew more or less some news, said, “This Ms. Taylor is also very intelligent. I heard that she has a master’s degree from Ember University.”
She was indeed outstanding to have a master’s degree from Ember University, but… others did not think so. Even if she was excellent, she could not compare with the top families, and at most, she would be a senior wage earner in the future, which was totally different from a capitalist.
Not many people were talking at the banquet hall, and their voices were very low, but more or less, these words reached Amelia’s ears.
Their words of Olivia only being a senior wage earner who didn’t know any manners and their speculation that Olivia was ment*lly unbalanced broke Amelia’s heart.
She did love Emma, but Olivia was her biological daughter. Besides, she had just gotten Olivia back, so she loved Olivia in her heart as well. Thinking that her biological daughter would be the object of
discussion among others in the future and would be respected on the face but disliked in the heart, Amelia felt like a knife cutting her heart.
At the same time, she was more and more apprehensive.
She knew nothing about Olivia and hadn’t spent much time with her these days. She had only seen Olivia a couple of times and didn’t know her at all. Armelia was afraid that Olivia would make a fool of herself tonight and become the topic of discretion for everyone.
