Chapter 72
His throat clenched, and his whole body tensed.
She staggered up and was about to leave, but her legs were too weak, causing her to sit back down on the sofa, where she fell into the crook of his arm, only to hear him say in a low voice, “Let me help you up.”
He helped her up the stairs, his arm around her waist.
Ava Lins felt supported into the room, the door clicked shut, and she was placed on a soft bed. The hot water in her body made her feel uneasy, her breathing was uneven, and her eyebrows knitted together.
Will you marry me?
As she turned around, she found herself facing George.
He reached out his hand and caressed her lips, which felt wonderful…
He squinted his hazy eyes and looked straight at Ava Lins, who felt someone caressing her lips.
She could see him getting closer and closer…
Until she felt his breath and his big hand brushing her side hair.
Ava Lins wanted to dodge when he kissed her, but he turned his body and pressed down on her.
Then he took her face in his hands, making it impossible for her to escape, deepening the kiss.
As if he was hungry…
As if he wanted to scent her.
Her breathing became increasingly erratic, and her heartbeat increased…
The moonlight was hazy, and the orange light in the room added…
Everything seemed to be spiraling out of control.
He was so arrogant he wanted to burn his aura into her memory so she would remember tonight!
He wanted her to remember him, to remember him deeply!
“Don’t…”Ava Lins grabbed his hand and shook it.
She wasn’t used to this feeling…
He clearly wanted to refuse, but lacked the strength to do so, and seemed to be anticipating something.
So Jeorge Milton kissed her again and said hoarsely, “Baby, give yourself to me…”
He didn’t let her resist or think because she had her eyes closed but wasn’t completely out.
He smiled, a doting and gentle smile between his brows.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
She pounced and pulled the blanket away from her body, then kicked it along with her clothes to the ground, causing him to scream in pain. “Hmm?”
Ava Lins was exhausted and unable to move. But she was dazed. She was exhausted and unable to lift a single limb. Her breathing cooled down, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Jeorge Milton drew her into his embrace, his big hands caressing her long hair as he kissed her.
His heart pounding, he embraced her, lowering his gaze to her blushing cheeks. On recalling the thrill of breaking through the membrane, he smiled. “Did I find a treasure?” he asked quietly.
He couldn’t help but kiss her as he spoke.
They both slept well that night. The moonlight was hazy, and the moon blushed as she hid in the clouds.
The next day was particularly dark and gloomy.
This winter had become unusually rainy and cold.
The rain outside Jeorge Milton’s window woke him up. His hands were empty when he moved them.
His mind instantly became clear.
He sat up, expecting to find her gone, when he found her sitting on the windowsill, hugging her knees, her back to him.
Jeorge Milton sighed and looked back at her for a long time, his eyes slightly narrowed.
She wasn’t as flustered or shrieking as she used to be. This time, when they were truly in love, her expression was strangely quiet.
It was so quiet he panicked.
He got up and grabbed a towel blanket. He hugged her from behind as he placed the blanket on her shoulders. “Why don’t you sleep for a while?” he asked, lowering his head and gently stroking her shoulders.
She didn’t say anything, just stared out the window at the rain wriggling on the glass.
Seeing her like this made him feel guilty.
“Marry me, Ava, and I will take care of you.”
But Ava Lins couldn’t feel it. “Should I thank you?
Thank him for cheating on her with her drunk?
Or was she grateful to him for claiming her first time?
“Do you think I’ll marry you? Do you think I should thank you for being responsible for me and then happily marry you?” she asked, her eyes emotionless.
Pulling her blanket down, she stood up, walked to the wardrobe, took out her clothes, and walked silently to the bathroom.
He was smoking a cigarette by the bathroom door when she came out. “Shall we talk?” he asked, dropping his cigarette.
Ava Lins lowered her eyes and voice.”What do we need to say?”
She re-looked at him. “It’s only been one night…” I don’t need you to apologize. Thank you for letting me stay here for so long. ”
She tried to go once she finished speaking, but he grabbed her wrist.
“Whither?”
She didn’t respond since she had nowhere to go.
“Why not be my wife?” he mused, his voice trailing off. “You don’t like me that much?”
He hoped that by getting her, he might at least keep her close…
“Goden Bran, what do you have that makes you think about it like this!? I won’t be any worse than him!” he said angrily.
“Ava Lins, don’t you want to pursue justice for Omi Lins? Do you really believe you can do it yourself?” he said, pulling her back, pressing her against the wall.
The man has done so much to you, and even murdered your little brother, do you still want to return to his side!?
He yelled violently, as if to rouse her from her slumber.
She’ll have him witness her second marriage.
“If you marry me, I will assist you and I can do anything for you,” he added softly, looking into her eyes.
As he said this, Ava Lins’ chest wound started to hurt.
She gazed at him, holding back tears. He was correct, but she didn’t want to get involved. She stepped away, removing his hand.
The room was silent….
He had overlooked her obstinacy.
Only I can assist you…, he said to Ava Lins in the cab.
Only I can aid!
Maybe he was correct, but she didn’t want to be tied to him.
She arrived home to see Omi Lins’ portrait on the wall, and her heart wrenched.
Her father appeared to age instantly. She couldn’t even admit that Omi Lins had been slain, so she had to suffer alone…
