Roman’s Banquet I
Reed
“Notice anything weird,” I spoke into the little device implanted in my ear. It was so tiny, that no one, even if they stood mere inches from me, wouldn’t notice. I stood next to the bar, where I had a view of everything, but most especially, at my little flower.
She looked so fucking beautiful in the dress she had on. It was a black ankle-length gown, accentuated with blinks that sparkled with every movement she made. The front had a large cut, passing through her cleavage and ending at her navel. And the slit on the leg did nothing to cover her thigh. If she moved an inch, I would see her pants.
And while she looked like a fucking goddess, I didn’t want all these perverts’ eye-fucking her. It made my blood boil with rage, seeing how they looked at her. And Roman, that fucking bastard hasn’t taken his eyes off her. I wonder if he knows she is my girl. The one he has his eyes set on.
The urge to approach Zinnia was strong, and with every laughter, accompanied by her emptying a glass of champagne, proved more difficult. I wanted nothing more than to snarl my arms around her waist, pull her into me and kiss the hell out of her.
“You know, you are no different from these men eye fucking her,” Hermine’s voice comes through my ears. I downed the contents of my glass and took another.
“Get to the point,” I answer, my eyes back on Zinnia. She had just emptied her glass and was asking for another. That was her fifth glass, and knowing how horrendous her tolerance to alcohol was, I knew she would start acting out soon.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Nothing worth the while for now. I spotted Mad with Jeremy a while back, but they were in the company of others. Do you need me to zoom in and capture what they’re saying?” Hermine asked as I once again emptied my glass.
I fisted my hands, my knuckles gradually turning white. There was a fucking asshole talking to Zinnia. And the slut that she was laughing at whatever that asshat was saying. Rage building through my body and settling in my groin, I emptied the glass and spoke to Hermine.
“You do that and get back to me,” I lightly tapped on the device in my ear to disconnect from the call with Hermine. Pocketing my hands in my pants, I walked towards Zinnia. The smile on her face disappeared and her posture tensed as soon as she noticed me.
“Ladies,” I greeted warmly, smiling at Alex and then turned to Zinnia with an unreadable expression.
“Reed, nice of you to join us. We were just having a conversation with….” Alex trailed, falling off her sentence as she realised she hadn’t gotten the name of whoever she was chatting with.
“It’s nice to meet you,” I said to the man, despite knowing his name. “Mind if I borrow her from you?” I spoke to Alex, my right hand making its way to her exposed lower back. She tensed at my touch, instantly making my cock hard. Fuck!
“Of course,” Alex replied with a smile plastered on her face.
My hand still on Zinnia’s lower back, I led her up the stairs. I had a blueprint of Roman’s manor, and that was how I came to know about the rooms on the third floor. There were five to be exact. Four seem to be habituated, except for one which seems to be out of bounce. And that was the room I was aiming for.
Whatever he kept hidden in that room, I was going to find.
“Reed, I promise, it was just a friendly conversation, nothing else,” my little flower begins to explain as soon as I slammed the door shut and turned the doorknob.
A devilish smile crept on my cheeks as I approached her, my hands making their way to my back pocket where I hid my gun.
“Is it now? Did you see how he eye fucked you?” I asked, grabbing a fistful of her hair and yanking her hair backwards.
“Reed! You’re ruining my hair. They took me forever to fix,” she grumbled and I couldn’t help the laughter that rolled off lips.
“I have a loaded gun in the back of my trousers, ready to fire a shot and you’re worried about your hair? Your priorities are a little misplaced, don’t you think, my little flower?” she swallowed a gulp, her body tensing against mine.
“Are you going to kill him?” she asked, her voice trembling with fear as the gun was now placed on her temple. It amazed me how she knew I wouldn’t shoot her. Of course, I wouldn’t, but the asshole who dare to look at her.
“If I do, his blood will be on you,” I crashed my lips against hers, seizing the speech right out of her mouth. She moaned and melted into my arms, the memory of my gun pressed to her temple nothing but a distant memory.
Briefly, the door to the room we were in creaked open. Swiftly, I tapped on the button on my ear and Hermine’s voice came through.
“He’s one of Roman’s guys. He’s been following you since you walked in,”
My lips travelled to Zinnia’s neck. She arched, granting me more access. As the figure approached us, thinking I hadn’t noticed him, I swiftly drifted the gun, meticulously aiming for his skull and fired the shot.
His body dropped to the ground and Zinnia shuddered in my arms. Her eyes drifting to the dead body next to us, she brought her hands to her mouth.
“What?” Her body trembled, clearly in shock at what happened. “You killed him!” She mumbled.
“Thank you for stating that fact,” I retorted, grabbing her by the hair and pulling her back to where she stood a few seconds ago. This time, I positioned the gun under her chin.
“Never interrupt my happy time with something so worthless. Now, do you believe me when I say I will kill anyone who eye fucks you?” My lips were inches away from hers and I knew that smelling the alcohol on my breath, coupled with what she had just witnessed, was driving her insane. Zinnia was drawn to danger. It was something she was beginning to crave. Something she couldn’t live without.
And knowing that I baptised her into it, made me so fucking hard.
