Chapter 153
-CLARA-
"Damon, you're doing no such thing! Stop" I screamed as I walked behind him. When he didn't stop, I halted then stomped my feet on the ground.
"Donovan Damon Gertrude!" I growled loudly and that immediately did the trick. He halted then turned to me with wide eyes.
"How did you..." He trailed off as Dimitri snickered, earning him a glare from Damon.
"I swear I didn't tell her. I almost forgot your name was Gertrude" He uttered, unable to stop himself from laughing.
I had to admit it was funny, I remember how shocked I was to see that his name was Gertrude when I was signing the marriage papers. I didn't laugh or say anything because I was still weary of him.
"Oh like yours is any better, Samantha" Damon fired back, immediately shutting Dimitri up. Delilah began to laugh and they both turned to her.
"You can't clap back at me, I don't have a middle name. Perks of being dad's favorite" She uttered then flicked her hair with a smirk.
"Your name is Samantha?" I turned to Dimitri with wide eyes and he frowned.
"Let's move on" He muttered under his breath and as much as I wanted to tease both of them, there was no time for jokes now.
"Damon, you're not going into the lion's den. You'll have yourself killed" I tried to reason with him but I knew how stubborn my husband was. "Immortal or not, he couldn't kill me if he wanted to" He uttered boastfully which made me scoff.
"Neither can you. He's an immortal, Damon. If two of you indulge in a fight, who is potentially going to die? You! Not to mention that you'll be in his territory, that just makes your chance of survival slimmer" I told him and he sighed.
"Don't worry, he won't kill me, not yet at least. If he is as powerful as we think, there's nothing stopping him from attacking now, especially now that my army isn't as strong as they used to be. There has got to be a weakness, something that could help take him down and if I don't see him up close, I can't find out what that is" He explained but I was still against it.
"You're not going anywhere" I stated and he frowned.
"Clara..."
"If you still insist on going, by the time you get back you would no longer have a wife. If you come back that is” I told him and his eyes widened while everyone gasped.
"Baby, what are you talking about?" He questioned as he tried to reach out to hold me but I took a step back. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
"If you go, when you get back, you'll be signing out divorce papers and I'm not fucking kidding. Dimitri, where's the nearest court?" I questioned while staring into his eyes so he could see how serious I was.
"There's one around the corner..." He trailed off when Damon glared at him.
"Go on, leave if you want to then. If you want to keep being unreasonable then I cannot keep being your wife" I uttered then turned around and stormed away.
I didn't need to turn around to know he was right behind me.
"My love, wait. Clara" He called out my name but I didn't turn around to face him. I let out a gasp as he grabbed my hand and gently turned me around to face him.
The soft look in his eyes and soft smile playing on his lips immediately softened my heart.
"What? You're not leaving anymore?" I tried to sound fierce but my voice had already softened.
"I'm sorry. I'm used to facing my problems head on because that's what I always did in the past. I didn't mean to anger you" He murmured as he caressed my face and sighed.
"I'm not angry, Damon. I'm just worried about you. I don't want you getting hurt" I said to him and he smiled before placing a kiss on my lips. "I know and I'm sorry. From now on, I will think of my safety first" He stated and I raised an eyebrow before wiggling my pinky finger at him. "Pinky swear" I urged and he chuckled before intertwining our fingers.
"I pinky swear. Now come here, I've missed you" He murmured as he pulled me closer and buried his nose in my neck, inhaling my scent. "You're the one that has been neglecting me" I said with a pout and he sighed.
"It's because of training. I don't want us being caught unawares. We need to be prepared" He explained and I sighed.
"At least spend the night with me today. You barely get any sleep" I uttered worriedly and he chuckled.
"Since that's what my wife wants
then her wish is my command. I just have to give a few orders and I'll be back home, okay?" He assured me as he pulled away and I nodded with a sigh.
"Don't come back late" I told him and he nodded.
"Of course my Queen. Delilah is on her way, she'll escort you back home and you'll rest, okay? I'll be there with you soon" He said and I slowly nodded.
Soon, Delilah came and Damon left with Luca while Delilah and I went back to the house.
"Do you really not know how I can contact my uncle? I just need to talk to him for a little bit” I said to her as we walked into the room.
"No, I really don't. Now stop thinking about that and rest. Get in bed" She ordered and I was too tired to argue so I climbed in.
"What about Luca? Doesn't he know anything?" I questioned and she sighed as she tucked me in.
"No. Damon was the last one who contacted your uncle with the number Dimitri gave... I should be saying all this" She said hurriedly with panic in her eyes.
"Does Dimitri still have his number?" I questioned and she frowned.
"From what I remember, he gave it to Damon, I'm leaving now, I've said too much already. If you're hungry just say something, I'll get it for you, okay?" She questioned and I smiled slightly at her.
As soon as she left, I got out of bed and searched the room for the number which I assumed was written on a piece of paper.
After searching for some hours to no avail, I plopped down on the bed as I thought about where it could possibly be.
It was most likely going to be in Damon's study but how exactly could I get in there? He had it locked whenever he was not around.
I had to find a way to convince him to take me there tonight but how?...
