Chapter 1389
Chapter 1389:
Realizing what had happened, Madisyn couldn’t help but smile.
“Sweetheart, you’re right—it’s good to eat more vegetables. But remember, ‘less meat’ doesn’t mean ‘no meat at all.’ It’s all about balance.”
With patience, she explained, “Meat has important nutrients that your body needs to grow strong and healthy. A good diet includes both vegetables and meat in the right amounts. Besides, the nanny made sure your meal today follows exactly what your teacher recommended.”
Madisyn spoke, tilting her chin toward Collier, whose cheeks were puffed out like a little chipmunk as he ate. “Look at Collier. He’s really enjoying his meal.”
Hearing his name, Collier perked up immediately. “Nana, look at me! I like everything. So yummy!”
As if words alone weren’t enough to prove his point, he scooped up another piece of deboned fish with his tiny spoon and stuffed it happily into his mouth.
At that moment, Collier was at his absolute cutest. His cherubic face, those big, innocent eyes, and his sheer enthusiasm for food made Nana unable to resist reaching out and gently poking his cheek with her finger.
Watching her little brother eat with such delight made her own appetite stir. Retracting her hand, Nana picked up her fork, mimicking Collier, and took bite after bite of the food left on her plate.
Nana had always been an extraordinary child, and her table manners were nothing short of impeccable. Madisyn, watching from across the table, felt a sense of pride. At such a young age, Nana carried herself with an elegance that was truly pleasing to the eye.
“Nana, you’re awesome!” Collier, oblivious to how refined his sister looked while eating, only cared that she was finally finishing her food without fuss. Overcome with joy, he leaned over and planted a big kiss on her cheek. “Muah!”
Madisyn saw the scene unfold and let out a small sigh, rubbing her forehead, amused. “Collier, if you’re going to kiss your sister, at least wipe your mouth first. You’re getting oil and saliva all over her face,” she said.
But if there was anyone who doted on Collier the most, it was Nana. Shaking her head quickly, she turned to Madisyn and said, “It’s okay, Mom. I don’t mind. I really like Collier.”

Collier, realizing he had left a mark on his sister’s cheek, suddenly looked embarrassed. He stared at it, hesitating, as if wondering whether he should wipe it off for her. But when he heard his sister say she didn’t mind, his eyes welled up with emotion. He gazed at Nana with pure adoration, like a little puppy seeking affection. “Collier likes Nana, too.”
The look in his eyes made Nana’s heart melt. Reaching out again, she gently touched his face. “Alright, Collier, eat your food.”
“Okay!”
As the two children moved past the topic on their own, Madisyn’s gaze softened. She let the moment be, simply reflecting on how rare it was to see siblings as close as Nana and Collier—never arguing, never causing trouble.
After lunch, Nana had her schoolwork to complete, while Collier, still too young for such obligations, had the freedom to play. But Collier was a ball of energy, and when Nana was focused on her homework, he had a habit of disturbing her.noveldrama
To keep him occupied, Madisyn took him to the toy room, letting him pick what he wanted to play with.
“Mommy, I want to play with this!” As soon as he stepped inside, Collier’s eyes lit up, and he pointed excitedly at a sleek, kid-sized motorcycle that Damari had gotten for him.
