Crushed Affections

Chapter 426 We Can Only Part Ways

Bella was slightly concerned about how quickly Lia became married to Zion. She felt that they didn't know each other well enough, which could lead to problems later. However, she didn't know how to bring it up when she saw Lia being so carefree. After a while, when Zion returned to the table, Bella casually turned the conversation with Lia to something involving Zion. "Lia, I can't shake the feeling that someone used to live in the apartment Dominic gave me."

Lia looked surprised. "No way. He let another woman live there?"

Bella's gaze drifted, as if by accident, toward Zion. "I'm not sure, but I don't know how to ask. I don't think that it's that big of a deal if someone lived there before. But the place should be cleaned up before someone new moves in, right? Otherwise, wouldn't it be uncomfortable for the next person?"

Lia nodded vigorously, her response quick. "Exactly. That's what I think, too."

Felix, who had already figured out Bella's intention, sat back casually, watching the exchange.

Zion wasn't an idiot. He gave Bella an indirect answer. "Maybe it just hasn't been tidied up yet. Maybe there wasn't time, or maybe it was just forgotten. Don't overthink it."

Bella pressed on. "It's in the most obvious spot, something you'd see right away. It's hard to forget, but it's easy to fix if you care. You don't even need much time just a little effort. Maybe it's just that women tend to notice the small things. After all, actions speak louder than words."

Lia, finally catching on, looked confused. "What are you two talking about? Are we still talking about the apartment?"

Zion smiled at her. "Yeah. What else could we be talking about?"

Lia didn't think much of it and didn't press the issue.

Setting aside her doubts about the photo in Zion's wallet, Bella still didn't hold a strong grudge against him. She decided to change the subject. Zion, how long are you staying this time? You just got married, so you should have some time off, right?"

Zion nodded. "Yeah, but not for long. Just three or five days. I'll take care of my discharge from the army as soon as possible so I can spend more time with Ms. Lawson."

When Bella heard how Zion referred

to Lia, she felt uneasy. Lia and Zion were married now, yet he still referred to her by her last name. She wondered if that was normal or if it was because they hadn't spent enough time together yet and weren't close. She even considered if it was just part of Zion's

personality.

On the other hand, Lia had already switched to calling him "Zion" or "my husband", which made their dynamic even more noticeable to Bella.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

After dinner, Lia and Zion were the first to take their leave since it was their wedding night, and they didn't want to be out too late.

While Cara went to get the car, Felix took the opportunity to talk to Bella alone. "It's only been a short while since we last met, and you're already so different. How is it that you're pregnant, but you've lost weight?"

Bella pressed her lips together.

"Maybe it's the morning sickness.

I'm almost five months along, but I

still throw up a lot and can barely keep anything down. Fortunately, the baby's healthy. How about you? Is your old problem' any better? Have things been going well for you lately?"

Felix didn't know what to say. He could only nod slightly, suddenly at a loss for words.

Felix was deeply bothered seeing her pregnant yet still without any commitment from Dominic. He felt for her, but he could do nothing to change it. Bella had chosen the path, but it was one he couldn't be part of. All he could do was walk away.
