Chapter 162
Kala POV
1 week later.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
All things considered, I had settled in well at the Dark Phantom pack. It's odd to think anyone would struggle here.
The only thing was they called me Luna...all the time. I was hearing it more than my actual name, which only Hector called me by.
Ezra's brother Edmund had remained for the last week and he is due back to his pack tomorrow. According to Hector he has been supporting the pack in his absence and was throwing a thank you party tonight for him.
A bit of a farewell pack party for keeping things ticking over, whilst Hector and Ezra were at my pack.
My pack...sounds weird to say.
Especially when I hold no emotional attachment to the land or pack people. I have since learnt that it isn't my birth pack, that I came from another pack.
Alora had been calling me daily, she calls just before bed time and we either talk for hours, me mainly asking questions, or we video call and just sit keeping each other company as we read.
It was nice to be building a sisterly bond with her.
When not in my bedroom, Hector insists I remain with him
1 can feel a buzz between us and he informs me it is the mate bond, that it works by pulling us together. I can feel it working its magic, and I often have to hold my breath around him. He had a scent about him that no other male had... Dark chocolate and oranges. Every morning the pack doctor insisted on seeing me, to the point it was get laborious.
The lump on the back of my head had gone, no swelling remained yet the doctor insisted on seeing me every morning for check ups. I think he expected me to wake up after a night's sleep with a miracle... Nothing had changed, nothing was going to change. If I didn't remember now, I don't think it will come
back to me.
I open the doctor's door to find Hector standing outside waiting for me as he does for every appointment. I'm certain he can listen in, I would be able to..so having the door between us was pointless.
But it was a small win for me when everything else was going his way. And why should he have his way all the time.
His usual broody eyes don't greet me as they have been each week when I exit the doctor's room, this time he looks slightly troubled as he looks down at is mobile phone.
"Everything alright?"
"Yes, ready?" His eyes trail the length of me, stopping at my belly button. I was wearing jeans and a crop top today, my wardrobe selection picked out by Aubrey who shopped for me the day after I returned. I
wanted to go, but Hector was reluctant to let me leave the pack grounds at the moment.
"Do I have a choice?" I smirk back at him, his command had stopped me from walking out of the pack borders quite a few times this week.
"Oh good Alpha, I'm glad to catch you. I'm happy to sigh Luna off for training." The doctor walks out behind me, my records in his hand.
"Training?" Excitement rises within me from my wolf. She was desperate to shift but it had been advised by the doctor to wait until he was certain there would be no repercussions. "You are sure?"
"Yes Alpha." A tense eye battle seems to occur between the alpha and the doctor before Hector nods, pocketing his phone and placing his arm around my lower waist.
He took as many opportunities as he could to touch me, to be near me.
my movement.
I move out of his hold, his eyebrow rising in a challenge at my
"So can we train, now?" I ask with the same excitement as we walk down the hospital corridor together. The alpha house was starting to feel like a cage and me a canary. "Eager huh?"
"You could say that, my wolf is clawing at my skin to be released." She really was, she was driving me insane at night time wanting to stare at the moon,
She would be reluctant to sleep, stating that if she can't shift then she will enjoy the moon's glow.
"Then let's release her..." He states much to my surprise, I expected him to find another reason to prevent me from training with his pack.
Each morning I would walk towards the training grounds and watch Hector train with his warriors.
If anything for the sight of him with his chest out, sweating. But also, I wanted to see what I could do, to see if I could remember any training from before getting amnesia. To see whether it would come to me naturally.
As we exit the hospital by the main reception area, his hand grasps into mine, as he starts to walk and pulls me gently into the same direction of him. He usually tried to hold my hand but I often pulled it away, ignoring the warm sparks that erupted on my palm. Denying the bond between us.
"Hector...what are we to one another?" I ask in earnest which forces him to turn and pick up on my change in tone.
"We are mates Kaia."
"Yes, but if we were together before...why weren't we together?" This had been playing on my mind and each time I broached the subject with Alora she would change the topic quickly or claim something urgent had been reported through the pack-link.
If I had already lived in this pack, his people welcoming me back with open arms...why had he only just marked me. Was it only because I was on the brink of death that he felt that I was worthy enough to mark
"Because I was a fool and I need to earn your forgivendes." He closes the small gap between us, his eyes now looking down at mine from his great height, his shoes touching mine.
"Forgive what Hector, I don't remember anything."
"No, but I do."
