Chapter 254
After Work.
As soon as Bridget got home, she sought out a phone repair expert.
The guy plugged Bridget's old phone into his computer, and she watched the screen flicker with anticipation, a sly smile curving her lips.
"Sylvia, you can't hide forever. I've got you now."
Without evidence, what could Sylvia possibly brag about?
"Ms. Simpson, it's open."
"Let me see."
Bridget eagerly grabbed the phone, scrolling through the messages. But all she found were mundane chats with no mention of her.
Undeterred, she tapped into Sylvia's photo album, searching through pictures and videos, but came up empty-handed.
"Impossible! She wouldn't let me touch this old phone. There must be something she's hiding! Can you check for any hidden files?"
"Sure."
The phone expert fiddled with the computer again, and sure enough, he discovered something.
"Ms. Simpson, there's indeed a hidden album."
"Get it out for me!" Bridget said excitedly.
Within five minutes, the album was unlocked.
As she opened it, Bridget was met with photos of a middle-aged man posing provocatively, even including some indecent shots.
Below the photos was a scrawled message: "Get my phone, you get me. If you're a pretty lady, add me on Twitter."
"You scumbag!"
Bridget had never been so furious. She hurled the phone against the wall, shattering it to pieces.
Sylvia had dared to deceive her!
Already pale from yesterday's blood. loss, Bridget had used a
l.ne
professional makeup artist to cover it up But now, no amount of skill could hide the pallor on her face.
Sylvia, you won't get away with this!
...
Sylvia returned home and pulled an old phone from her coat pocket, chuckling to herself.
Bridget wanted a phone? Let her have it.
Afterward, Sylvia called the phone repair shop owner, telling him to cancel the repair and keep the money as compensation for any inconvenience.
She was wary of being watched the next time she went out. Trust was a luxury she couldn't afford now, so she had to be extremely cautious.
She found another phone repair service online, but they gave her the same answer: since it was an old model, they'd have to order parts, which would take a week.
After paying, she collapsed onto her bed to rest. A thought crossed her mind, and she called her mom, Naomi.
"Mom, did you find out anything about Fanny Lance?"noveldrama
"Nothing much. Her dad just got a promotion, so a lot of eyes are on them. She's been keeping a low profile."
"Keep an eye on her. Someone like her can't stay quiet for long," Sylvia advised.
"Will do," Naomi replied, sounding exhausted.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Sylvia asked with concern.
Naomi couldn't hold back her frustration. It's the Carmen family! We just signed a contract with them, and they're throwing a huge
celebration, inviting practica//lne
everyone who opposes the Garcia Group. They even sent invitations to the Garcia family, which got Tristan's headache acting up. I spent the whole night taking care of him."
Naomi let out a yawn.
"Mom, don't worry about it. Celebrating too early in business is never a good sign."
"Is that so?" Naomi hesitated.
"Why? Did you hear something else?"
Sylvia knew Naomi all too well. If she hesitated, it meant she was holding something back.
Naomi lowered her voice. "Sylvia, I
heard a lot of people are investing in the Carmen Group's project. Even though we're part of the Garcia. family we can't ignore a good investment. I've saved some money over the years. Maybe I should quietly invest some, and if it pays off, it'll be a nice wedding gift for you."
What do you think?
