Chapter 31
Chapter 31
Fortunately, Henson arrived and roused Estelle from her slumber, saving them from the awkwardness
of being caught by Jonathan.
The trio then headed to the stable to select their horses.
Jonathan and Henson both had their own horses here, so only Estelle needed to pick one temporarily.
Estelle opted for a pony, but Henson couldn’t help but laugh at her choice.
Estelle didn’t mind the ridicule. She loved keeping things under control, and since it was her first time
riding a horse, she’d rather choose a pony and be laughed at by Henson than choose a bigger horse,
risk falling off and being embarrassed and hurt.
Seeing her determination and not being swayed by others, Jonathan showed rare appreciation.
The pony was very obedient, and with a professional horse trainer’s guidance, Estelle was able to ride
it steadily and control it.
Jonathan and Henson waited on horseback for her. When she became more skillful, they rode together.
The three rode horses along a leisurely path, with tall cypress trees on both sides, and cherry
blossoms. planted underneath.
In the midst of late spring, a gentle breeze carried a shower of petals through the air. Unburdened by
worries, the flowers lightly brushed against their faces as they rode, causing a slight itch but filling them
with a sense of relaxation and exhilaration.
Jonathan rode ahead and heard Estelle and Henson chatting and laughing behind him. Henson
laughed out loud exaggeratedly.
He turned his head and saw Estelle in a white shirt and black suspenders, her hair tied high, the
sunlight dancing on her delicate features, Her expression was different from her usual modest
demeanor, carefree and
radiant.
Jonathan couldn’t help but think that this was the real Estelle.
After more than ten minutes of riding, they turned into an asphalt road that led to a villa.
The villa was in a British style, with a semi-wooden structure, a triangular roof, an exquisite chimney,
and symmetrical floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides of the wooden door.
A small crystal-clear river flowed in front of the villa, and the flower-lined path seemed straight out of a
fairy
tale world.
The servant knew Jonathan was coming, and set up- the grill, prepared Henson’s fishing gear, buckets,
and a
sunshade…
A car drove over, and Jonathan looked at it, saying to Henson, “You and your tutor go fishing. I have to
talk some business. After that, we’ll eat the fish you caught.”
Estelle smiled, “I’ll take care of Henson.”
Henson snorted, “Maybe you are the one being taken care of!”
Jonathan smiled and walked towards the man who got out of the car.
Estelle glanced back to see a tall, friendly-looking man greeting Jonathan. After exchanging a few
words, they
went into the villa.
Henson had already started with the fishing rod. “Let’s have a competition to see who will catch the
most fish!”
Estelle baited her hook. “What’s the reward if I win?”
“Do you adults always have to make bets? Can’t you just do something for fun?” Henson ridiculed
Estelle.
Estelle nodded, “I apologize, I was being superficial”
Feeling victorious for schooling Estelle, Henson fiercely threw his hook into the river.
Half an hour later, Henson saw Estelle’s bucket with three lively fish, looked at his own empty one, and
dropped the fishing rod. “I quit. This isn’t fun!”
Estelle lay back in a lounge chair, with her eyes half-closed and composed. Young man, be patient
Getting angry won’t improve your situation”
Henson walked over, beaming, and invited Estelle ‘Let’s have a water fight
Estelle cracked open one eye ‘Aren’t you getting bored?” she asked.
Five minutes later, the pair, filled with boredom, donned waterproof vests, each clutching a water gun,
and stood facing each other with impassive expressions.
Henson sneered, “I’ll give you three seconds to start running!”
Estelle laughed, “One second is enough for me.”
As she spoke, she did a backflip and got away, shooting at the same time. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
The guns were filled with water pellets the size of marbles, with a range of five meters. When they hit a
person, they exploded, giving a thrilling sensation without pain.
For the next half hour, Estelle and Henson weaved through the woods, attacking and escaping each
other.
Jonathan returned after seeing off his guest, and the two were nowhere to be found.
Hearing noises in the woods, he walked in.
After replenishing his water gun, Henson took aim in Estelle’s direction and unleashed a relentless
spray. “Step forward and confront your impending drenching!” he exclaimed.
Estelle was hiding behind a camphor tree, but got distracted when she saw Jonathan suddenly appear.
Seeing the water pellets headed for him, she reflexively pounced on him, hugging him and using her
back to shield him from the water attack.
