Chapter 50
Everyone was amazed and praised the beautiful necklace, Carmella’s filial piety, and Simone’s luck.
Mrs. Page said with a mix of envy and regret, “When GK Jewelry Studio was promoting, I already had
my eyes on this necklace, but I couldn’t find it in the store even asked their store manager, who told me
that this set was reserved by someone. Turns out it was Ms. Macclain! She must be a VIP at GK
Jewelry Studio”
Another lady chimed in, “I asked too! I heard it was ordered through Harriet. Ms. Macclain, do you know
Ms Harriet?”
“No way?” Mrs. Robert, who had been silent, snorted with disbelief.
Simone looked at Carmella surprisingly, “You know Ms. Harriet?”
Harriet was the design director of GK Jewelry Studio, who had won awards both domestically and
internationally, and was very famous.
Mention of the necklace immediately made Carmella uneasy. Despite her guilt, she felt compelled to
nod in response to the collective surprise, admiration, and the expectant gaze of Simone, unable to
escape the situation.
“Yeah, we’re friends.”
Everyone gasped in awe.
Simone’s excitement took hold as she eagerly grabbed Carmella’s hand, her eyes gleaming. “Why
didn’t you inform me earlier?” she asked with enthusiasm.
Carmella chuckled awkwardly. “We’re just ordinary friends!
“That’s still amazing! I heard Harriet comes from a prestigious family and is super arrogant and
impressive!” A lady exclaimed loudly.
The commotion attracted more ladies to come and ask what’s going on. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
When others found out that Carmella knew GK Jewelry Studio’s designer Harriet and had reserved a
jewelry set from her, they were full of praises for Carmella.
Surrounded and praised like a moon among the stars, Carmella felt a bit uneasy but also satisfied and
glorious.
Simone whispered to Carmella, “You really make me proud, Carmella!”
Carmella secretly rejoiced, about to reply, when a lady exclaimed, “Isn’t that Ms. Harriet? She’s here to
celebrate Old Mrs. Copeland’s birthday too!”
Carmella suddenly turned her head and saw a young-looking woman in a light brown dress walking
over, her elegant and aloof demeanor attracting everyone’s attention.
Carmella’s body tensed, and her gaze darted around nervously. She glanced at Harriet briefly, then
hastily averted her eyes, unable to hold the gaze for long.
Mrs. Robert noticed Carmella’s expression and chuckled, “Since Ms. Macclain is friends with Ms.
Harriet, why not introduce us? So that when GK Jewelry Studio launches new products, we can also
have a headstart.”
Carmella’s expression shifted, and she quickly interjected, “Oh, there’s really no need. Ms. Harriet must
be extremely busy, and we shouldn’t disturb her.”
Mrs. Page seemed enthusiastic, “Just a few words won’t take much time.”
Someone had already sent a servant to invite Harriet over.
Soon, Harriet approached their direction, with everyone going to greet her. Simone deliberately led
Carmella to the front, standing tall with a slightly raised chin.

Carmella’s back was covered in a thin layer of sweat. She never expected to meet Harriet here. Should
she pretend to be familiar and greet her or just walk away?
But Simone held her hand tightly, leaving her with no chance to escape. She had no choice but to walk
step by step towards Harriet.
The ladies started to greet Harriet, who responded courteously with a smile on her face. Her eyes
lingered on the necklace around Simone’s neck, but then she looked away as if nothing happened.
Mrs. Robert glanced at Carmella and laughed, “Ms. Macclain, aren’t you and Ms. Harriet friends? Why
don’t you say hi?”
Everyone’s gaze suddenly focused on Carmella.
Carmella felt a tingling sensation on her scalp, her face turning red. She glanced at Harriet and
mustered a forced, relaxed smile. “Harriet, it’s been a while! How have you been?”
Harriet seemed puzzled but before she could say anything, Simone stepped forward with her arm
around Carmella’s, and said affectionately, “I just found out today that Ms. Harriet and our Carmella are
friends. Feel ,free to come over to our house when you’re available.”
