Game Over No Second Chances

Chapter 397

Nebulae was a renowned international brand. A few years ago, it had made waves on top fashion magazines with its modern reinterpretation of traditional aesthetics. It won the hearts of many in the industry, quickly becoming a rising

star in the world of luxury.

Internationally, it was known as Nebulae. However, its first store in Javerton city would be named as Nebula Design.

Serena stared at the black card in her hand, stunned.

The news that Nebula Design was opening a store in Javerton City hadn't been made public yet. Yet Hugh had already handed her the card.

Hugh answered, "We've been shifting focus back to the domestic market. A few of Nebula Design's lead designers have returned to launch new collections. You're free to pick anything you like from local or overseas."

Serena fell silent.

She had just given him a thank-you gift, and now Hugh had returned with something far more extravagant.

How was she supposed to respond to that?

After Hugh entered the car, Chandler started briefing him on the evening's meeting with an Amstian client. Serena paused for a second before reaching out and gently blocking the car door.

In the driver seat, Chandler's eyes widened in alarm. Hugh's schedule was measured down to the minute. If she delayed him from meeting this client...

Hugh looked up, puzzled.

Serena took out a brand new tie box from her purse and glanced at Hugh's bare collar.

"I was worried you might think cufflinks were too much, so I prepared a backup. The Amstians care a lot about presentation. I didn't want you looking underdressed. Try this one on."

She meant to hand it over and leave.

But Hugh's gaze flickered as he said calmly, "It's hard to put it on properly in the car."

Serena paused. Was he asking her to help him put it on? Wasn't that a bit too much?

Hugh noticed her hesitation, his brow twitching ever so slightly.

He added, "I don't usually pay attention to these details. My styling team isn't around, and Chandler is all thumbs."

Chandler said nothing, quietly rolling his eyes.

Hugh was always aloof. He always handled his own cufflinks and tie pins. Yet suddenly, he turned into a pampered heir that couldn't lift a finger.

Chandler shut his eyes and pretended to see nothing.

Serena didn't suspect a thing.

The only kind of man she used to know was someone like Zach. He

used to let her handle all his

drackto

wardrobe decisions. He only had to

the

show up and close the deals.

She stepped forward, bent slightly, and pulled out the tie. She then lowered her

head and fastened it around Hugh's collar.

"Chandler, you should learn. What if he ends up needing it for a formal event?"

Chandler inhaled sharply, holding his breath.

Hugh said nothing. He simply

watched as Serena's slender fingersnoveldrama

adjusted the knot with practiced

ease When she finished, she gave

the tie a light pat, as if tapping directly on his heart.

"All done. Good luck with the meeting. Safe trip."

She stepped back and waved goodbye.

Hugh gave a small nod. He watched her for a moment before finally signaling Chandler to drive. On the road, he put on the cufflinks Serena had picked out. Chandler let out a slow breath.

"Mr. Larson, I actually know how to tie a..."

"Triple bonus."

"I owe Mrs. Larson for this!"

Chandler broke into a wide grin. Taking the blame was nothing. Serena had just earned him a bonus.

Meanwhile, just outside the parking

garage, Serena tucked the black

card away. She recalled that Nebula Design's newest collection might include brooches. Maybe she could find one to match Hugh's look.

She heard a familiar voice as she was walking back to the restaurant in the dark.

"Careful. The baby's still in a delicate condition."
