Healing The 99

Sihana’s POV

The Alpha Blood pack was in the news every day. People were talking bad about my mate and I could do nothing but daydream of punching reporters in their nasty faces.

I sat in front of the television that evening, munching on a snack while waiting for my mate to return home.

… Keep in mind that Alpha Dorian Greyson, the head of the Greyson family is also missing after an altercation with Alpha Calur Armani. Georgia, do you think these incidences are related?” The hook–nosed reporter of The Wolves Channel asked the guest on the news that evening.

“Considering the recent purge happening in Alpha Blood pack, it’s more than likely that these incidences are connected, Michael,” The middle–aged woman named Georgia responded. “Let’s look at how people have been thrown into the cruel dungeons of the Alpha Blood pack for unjustified reasons and the known methods of Cahir Armani. Remember how this man took over the Alpha Blood pack in the first place-

They drew relations between the fight with Alpha Boston and this, highlighting how Cahir took down random people before others realized what he was doing.

He is a tyrant they said, a man who had reached the height of power but was still greedy for the wealth of his pack members. Someone whose pride would soon destroy.

“What are they saying today?” My popcorn almost flew out of my hands when a warm breath touched my

skin.

“Don’t scare me like that!” I exclaimed, clutching a fist against my chest. “You’re home early today.”

My mate had to work later and later every day thanks to the influx of complaints he got concerning his recent actions. As he said, they would get uncomfortable and act faster than they planned if he made a move like this and he was right. From specific quarters, there was targeted backlash against him

“I got tired of answering the same petitions so I left.” He shrugged, getting into the couch with me. He pecked my lips and stretched. “What are they saying about me?” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

“The same old. Want some?” I extended the popcorn to him and he dug in

“Dark Moon controls The Wolves Channel. It’s as if they want a bit of my attention these days.” His words would sound flippant to someone else but those that knew Cahir a bit knew he was never flippant.

“How are things coming along?” I asked, distracting him from the second largest pack in the world. Too many people would suffer if Alpha Blood and Dark Moon went at it.

“I’m giving them a few days before they crack. Dorian Greyson will contact his family tomorrow after a ‘sympathetic guard‘ borrows him a cellphone.” It was scary how manipulative Cahir could be but I smiled

his words. Did I enjoy all this? No, definitely not as much as he did.

These days, despite all the backlash he received, he wore an unfading smile all the time as he watched things unfold. It was like he was watching a little game and everything amused him.

planted spies around him, spies that they thought they had hidden well when in reality they were just people Cahir had let stay around him to grant their masters a false sense of power before he ripped the rugs from under their feet, those that smiled with him while sneering behind him and wishing and plotting evil against him were gnashing their teeth now

More and more people came out to speak against him something that had not happened since he became the Alpha of the Alpha Blood pack. The twelve packs that Alpha Blood managed as subsidiaries had pretended to be loyal to him all these years but now, they were showing their true colours as their spies and mercenaries were in danger and their pride and safety were at stake.

“Why tomorrow?” I asked Cahir, setting aside my empty bowl of popcorn.

“Why not? I’d like to see them panic more. When they receive the call, they’d demand his release and when I don’t comply, they’ll make a public appeal so when they attack, they are well justified and their good name wouldn’t be tainted.” He chortled. He was enjoying this too much.

“I’m glad things are going according to plan,” I muttered dryly.

He didn’t care what others thought or said about him but I did. I didn’t like the way they slandered him as a tyrannical maniac who was doing the world a disservice by breathing. He’d received backlash since he got his revenge against Alpha Boston but as of then, I didn’t know him. Now, he was my mate and there. were people who didn’t know what he looked like talking shit about him.

“Are you really fine with all this?” Even before I asked, knew the answer but it still surprised me that he

was this chill at everything. He nodded, sighing with relish. “I don’t like that they’re talking bad about you,” I muttered with a downeast face. It felt silly pitying someone that didn’t care but I couldn’t help it.

Why d

does it matter that nobodies say nonsense about me?” He went quiet, his smile falling from his face.

“It’s–It is just–1 stuttered. “I just hate it.” I pouted.

“One thing you need to learn, belle, is that the opinions of others do not matter. I am Cahir Armani and no slander can overshadow my achievements.” My lips curled up at that effortless bragging.

“You’re right.” I rested my head on his bicep and he hugged me close.

He was Cahir Armani and if any of these things disturbed him, he would deal with them. He had the power and the resources at his disposal to bring anyone to his feet for looking at him the wrong way. There was nothing for me to worry about. Save for his bloodlust.

It was another thing that worried me. All these plans would end in one thing – a battle. A bloody battle that would excite him. A battle that could potentially tip him over the edge of bloodlust. He may come out the winner in every fight, but the fight against bloodlust

“I’m not s

t succumbing to bloodlust,” he muttered. He hadn’t developed mind–reading abilities but I’d worried and nagged about his bloodlust so much that he knew when I was thinking about it

“What if I started my usual tirade but stopped myself with a sigh. I held his hand tighter.

My powers were fluctuating now and my healing abilities were barely functional, but from mine and Felicity’s research, a healer had healed a feral wolf before so before my mate got to that stage, I would try to heal the fragments in his mind

“I’m never letting you go, Cahir Armani,” I vowed.

“You shouldn’t, Sihana Armani” He pecked my cheek with an unusually soft smile. “You’ll have to leave tomorrow night, he whispered, a foreign emotion swirling in his eye, “I contacted the high priestess and she will be happy to have you until the end of this nonsense. My eyes doubled in size as I pulled away

om him.

– What the hell are you saying!?” I exclaimed, jumping to a stand. “We’re supposed to go to the high priestess together by the weekend for me to get a new necklace with more holy power!” My eyes stung as looked at him. Again, he gave me a soft sinile. That dath soft smile! I wanted to scream, I wanted to pull my hair as realization dawned on me.

“You can’t be caught amid this, he whispered, standing and pulling me to his chest. I tried to pull away, to push him away but he held me tighter.

“Stop!” I screamed. “You’re sending me away? Out of the blue!?” I shouted. He placed a finger on my lips and I fought the urge to bite it

“You knew this would happen,” he whispered. “You are in danger by my side. You and our baby. For your safety, it’s best to stay on neutral grounds during this ordeal. You’ll leave tomorrow night.”

“You’re You’re “Words choked me. “But in the temple how can I – I wouldn’t even know” In the temple. I would be out of the loop with everything. I wouldn’t know what was happening to my mate or my pack.

“We have the mate bond to communicate, Sia. I promise to wrap it up as soon as possible so you can return home, but you know you can’t stay by my side when there’s an imminent attack.”

“Cahir-” He shushed me.

“Tomorrow night, Aristo and a few guards will take you to the temple. The guards will remain with you there. I’d love to go with you but we have to move as discreetly as possible. I don’t mind being attacked, belle, but if anything happens to you because of what I started –” He trailed off.

“Cahir-” I choked out again. “You’re letting me go.”

“I’m sending you to a safe place. I promise you, I’ll be back to pick you up as soon as the last one of these bastards has been cut down.” He hugged me and I went lax against him. “You know it’s too dangerous by my side, belle.”

“Then assign more guards. Take me with you everywhere!” I shouted into his chest but he did not change his mind.

The temple was neutral ground and no one would know I was there. I’d be safe from attack but I would be away from him, hiding away while he faced danger from every angle.

“I hate you,” I sobbed into his chest. “How could you do this to me? How long have you been planning to send me away like this?” I thought he’d change but Cahir, it seemed, would always keep secrets from me.

Even the staff of the Alpha Castle weren’t allowed to know of my leave so Cahir packed a small suitcase with me. I didn’t say a word to him as we packed. It was silly and petty but I was upset, scared and powerless. No good would come out of me staying in the war zone but I didn’t want to be apart from my mate when he was in imminent danger.

The next night, while the castle slept, I was bundled into a car with Aristo and three other warriors, a car packed with five others following behind.
