His Destructive, Toxic Love

It was Casper who had come to pick her up.

"How's she doing?" Casper asked as he approached Eliza, gently taking her hand. "Ray didn't mean to bump into her, it was all just a misunderstanding."

"Yeah, I know," Eliza replied softly.

They both got into the car. Eliza wasn't in the mood to talk. She rested her head against the window, staring out blankly.

"Hey, let's not dwell on it. We'll get home, and you can catch some sleep," he said gently, fastening her seatbelt.

The car moved through the dark streets. Eliza turned to look at Casper, who was focused on driving. Suddenly, she spoke, "Casper, if you ever fall for someone else... or if you find yourself drawn to another woman... please, just let me know. I won't hold you back."

"That's not gonna happen," he assured her. He knew he needed proof to clear things up, but his love for her was real, and she knew it. "Tomorrow, I'll go to the office, check the surveillance footage, and we'll get to the bottom of this."

The car fell silent. Eliza, exhausted, slowly closed her eyes.

The next morning, Eliza woke to find the housekeeper had already seen Casper off to the office. After breakfast, she headed to the thirteenth floor to continue her work at the jewelry company.

Summer had been let go, and Drew, Caroline's former secretary, was stepping in temporarily. At noon, Drew delivered a custom gourmet lunch to Eliza.

"Mr. Casper wanted to remind you not to skip meals, no matter how busy you are," Drew said.

Eliza gave a small smile. "Thanks."

"No problem, Ms. Eliza. I'll get going now."

"Alright, take care."

Once Drew left, Eliza set the lunch aside and returned to her work on the computer.

Later in the afternoon, Casper sent Drew to fetch Eliza to his office.

"What's up?" Eliza asked, clearly engulfed in deadlines and final inspections. "I can't really step away right now."

"I've gone through the surveillance

footage. I've tracked everyone who came and went from the CEO's office during the renovations. I

finally figured out who left those net

Eliza approached Casper's computer. He gently guided her to sit on his lap, "Sit and watch."

She didn't protest. As she watched the screen, she saw two unfamiliar faces. "Who are these people?" she asked, surprised.

"The guy was handling the final touches, and the woman, she's probably his girlfriend. After the new bed was set up, they must've spent a few nights there. Look at the bag he's holding..."

Casper zoomed in, and sure enough, it resembled a box of condoms.

"Are you saying those condoms in

your lounge were theirs?" Eliza asked, skeptical. "Does everyone have access to your CEO office? Or are you saying you haven't used the lounge even once since it was finished?"

Eliza's questions made sense, but the truth was right there.

"The key card must have been duplicated without us knowing. I truly haven't used the lounge at all," Casper explained.

Eliza closed the laptop and searched his eyes for any signs of guilt or deceit. "Casper, is this really what happened?"

"Absolutely," he replied, pressing the intercom. Drew soon appeared with the couple from the video. "Mr. Casper, here they are."

As soon as they saw Casper, they dropped to their knees. "We're so sorry, Mr. Casper. We shouldn't have done that in your lounge. Please, don't hold it against us. We messed up, and if this gets out, it'll ruin our families."
