Chapter 747
The project wrapped up without a hitch.
As Casper got up, Allysha followed suit. "Mr. Casper, why don't you keep this on for now? I've sent your suit to the cleaners, and it'll be delivered once it's ready."
Casper nodded slightly, agreeing.
He stepped off the stage, letting go of his icy and serious demeanor as he took Eliza's hand with a gentle touch. "You must be starving. Let's grab some food."
"Sounds good." Eliza glanced past Casper at the woman behind him. "Allysha, want to join us?"
"No, thank you, Mrs. Welton," Allysha managed a calm smile despite her feelings.
Watching Casper walk away hand in hand with Eliza, Allysha couldn't help but mutter under her breath once they were out of sight.
"That woman just knows how to reel men in. It's infuriating."
Her agent, visibly sweating, whispered urgently, "Keep it down. They're a couple; it's normal. Don't jump to conclusions."
"Agent Finn," Allysha turned to face her agent, "I've made up my mind. I'm going to make Casper..."
She was cut off as her agent quickly covered her mouth and hustled her out to the
car.
"Allysha, you've worked so hard to get here. I've always thought of you as
someone with a good head on her shoulders. Are you really going to risk your future over someone like Gabe?"
The agent's tone was firm.
Tension filled the car.noveldrama
Allysha knew her thoughts were impulsive, but she just couldn't let it go.
After all, Casper was just a guy.
What guy doesn't stray?
Even if just once, she wanted to get back at Eliza.
"If she can take my man, why can't I take hers?"
"That's a slippery slope," her agent warned again, "If you go through with this, you're risking scandal and possibly the end of your career. Are you sure?" Allysha hesitated.
Of course, she was... unsure.
With a sigh, she waved it off, "Alright, I'll think it over."
Casper and Eliza left the venue.
Before getting into the car, Casper shrugged off his suit jacket and tossed it to Dillon, "Get rid of it."
"Sure thing, Mr. Casper."
Dillon had just bought a fresh suit for Casper to wear later.
The car cruised slowly into Falconridge's lively shopping district.
The area was renowned for its upscale restaurants, a place full of life and indulgence.
"I'm taking you to meet someone," he mentioned.
Eliza was curious, "Who?"
"You'll see." He held Eliza's hand and led her inside, leaving Dillon by the car.
Looking back at Dillon, he signaled him to follow, "Come on."
"I think I'll sit this one out," Dillon waved, staying put.
"Have you eaten?"
Dillon's response was a mix of nods and shakes, "I'll grab something later."
"Let's go." Casper wasn't in the mood for excuses.
Dillon reluctantly followed.
They arrived at a Spanish-style restaurant.
Already there was a young, pretty woman waiting.
Eliza was puzzled.
She glanced at Dillon, who seemed just as clueless.
"Casper," the girl ran over, huset
him tighte
"I've missed you:
much. It's been too long." SW
Eliza: ...Casper?
She hadn't heard anything about Casper having a sister.
A cousin... didn't seem likely either.
Who was this girl?
"Let me introduce you," Casper said, pulling Eliza.
d this is Maddie, Rory younger sister."
Ya closer. "This is my wife,
Eliza: ...
Dillon: ...
"Nice to meet you, Eliza," Maddie greeted warmly, not a hint of awkwardness.
"And this," Casper brought Dillon forward, "is my right-hand man, Dillon. A few years your senior, talented, stable, with a princely charm. His salary's in the six not counting bonuses. You two should get to know each other."
