Chapter 0034
"You're an angel," She whispered, tightening her hold around Amara. "And you deserve so much better than Tobias. I promise, we'll find you your Mr. Right!"
Drying her hand, Amara spun around in Melanie's hold and gently patted her head. "I don't need a Mr. Right, Mel. I'm fine on my own, right now, what I need to focus on is my work." "Right," Melanie nodded. "Who need those stinky men?"
"Who needs them," Amara agreed, giggling as she watched Melanie fetch out a bottle of unopened wine.
"Let's celebrate tonight." She proposed. "To new beginnings and new chances."NôvelDrama.Org © content.
Amara nodded and picked up the two glasses on the counter, holding them as Melanie poured the wine into each glass.
"Cheers to being single ladies who are ready to focus on their lives!" They both said simultaneously, clinking their glasses and drinking the contents in one go.
As Melanie refilled their glasses, she recalled the reason why Amara had invited her out in the first place. "So, your first day at work, how was it?"
"Normal, is what I'd like to say, seeing as I have a hectic project to work on, I can't bring myself to say so."
""What project?"
As Amara took a sip from her wine, she realized that something she had overlooked was Melanie's presence in the cosmetic world.
Melanie was a well known person when it came to the cosmetic industry and being well know meant that you met influential figures and heard gossip that normal people couldn't.
And if Amara's prediction was correct, Melanie would know something about Bethany.
""You've heard of Gemini Sinclair, right?"
"Madam Sinclair? Who hasn't. What's up with her?"
"She's the project I'm working on." After saying this, Amara took her time to explain how she needed to contact Gemini, but the older woman had turned her down because of her not so good
reputation. "Currently, I planovel
approaching her through daughter."
"Bethany?"
Amara nodded. "Do you know any about her?"
"Not much, just the fact that Madam Sinclair wants her to divorce her husband."
Amara's brows arched. Divorce? Was that why she was having an issue with Rotaine? Because they were a company that promotes harmonious marriage through their jewelries, yet Bethany's marriage wasn't harmonious. Hm, this was more interesting than Amara imagined.
"And why would Madam Sinclair want her daughter to divorce her husband?"
"Word has it that her husband, Jeremiah, he's a scumbags. But poor Betty, she's too far gone in love to divorce the bastard." A few seconds after Melanie had said this, she snapped her fingers. "Ah, you can use this as your opportunity!" "My opportunity?"
"Of course! What better way to earn Madam Sinclair's favor than to help her daughter divorce that scumbag And who else would be able to make poor Betty divorce that scumbag other than you, someone who has first handedly experienced what it feels like to be in her shoes."
Amara frowned a bit at Melanie's words, but she didn't take too much offense to it, because in reality, what Melanie had said was true and reasonable.
She did know what it felt like to be married to a cheating, unfaithful bastard. She knew the pain, the betrayal, the self-esteem issues, the heartache. She knew them all, so who would be a better person to convince Bethany than her.
And to be honest, it was more subtle
than what Amara had originally planned. Originally, her plan was to help Bethany solve whatever issues she had with Rotaine, but even that didn't guarantee the approval of Gemini, but this, this was the golden stick and Amara wasn't going to
miss out on grabbing it.
Finishing the last of her wine, Amara reached out and patted Melanie on the head. "You just made me realize such an important piece, thanks a lot."
Melanie grinned proudly. "What are best friends for."
Amara smiled but the glint in her eyes was far way different than the smile on her lips. "Exactly." She repeated. "What are best friends for."
