Patrick smirked and asked, "So, are you here for the Night Demon Project?"

Wilbur replied, "That's right, Patrick. I think you know what consequences the Night Demon Project will bring. How can you not abide by the rules as a cultivator? You forcefully interfered with the lives of ordinary people. Isn't that crossing a line?"

Patrick scoffed coldly and said, "They are like insects to me. Their lives are as worthless as grass. I don't care even if millions of them die."

There was a cold glint in Wilbur's eyes when he said in a chilling tone, "You're terrible. I can't believe you manipulated the Moda military for your personal gain. It looks like if you get away with the Night Demon Project, Kosanto will become your prey too."

"That's right. The plan is in action, and your appearance is fated to be an intermission."

Patrick created a ball of light in his right palm as he spoke. Meanwhile, Dale backed away to the side and said quietly, "This is all I can help you with, Mister Penn."

Wilbur smirked and said, "Dale, I thought you wanted to get rid of me through Patrick, but it looks like I've underestimated you. Your nature impresses me. Can we be friends after this battle?"

"Of course. You're a powerful person, Mister Penn. It would be my honor if you're willing to be my friend."

"Shut up, both of you!"

There was a cold glint in Patrick's eyes. He scolded, "You two are going to die today. Dale, I'll kill you after I kill Wilbur Penn!"

Dale scoffed coldly and said, "Patrick, I'm afraid your plan won't work with Mister Penn here today."

That agitated Patrick, and he unleashed the ball of light in his hand abruptly. It shot a light trail in the air as it was going toward Wilbur. Wilbur flicked his right wrist and held the thunder cleaver, placing it in front of his chest.

The light hit the thunder cleaver, and its blade instantly shattered into countless pieces. In that instant, Wilbur caught Patrick's ball of light in his hand.

The Light Gloves suddenly radiated white light when it sensed the light energy and quickly absorbed it. Patrick was shocked by the sight and exclaimed, "What? I can't believe you absorbed my energy! Damn it. It looks like the pair of gloves is a powerful weapon of a middle dimension cultivator. I can't believe you're protected by someone from the middle dimension."

The ball of light vanished. Patrick pulled his hands back and glared menacingly at Wilbur. Then, his body started emitting a faint, white light. He formed a white longsword in his right hand and sprinted toward Wilbur.

Patrick was in front of Wilbur in the blink of an eye. He wielded the longsword and made a downward slash. Wilbur flicked his right wrist and summoned the thunder cleaver once again, then quickly raised the thunder cleaver to intercept the attack.
