Love At Last

CAYDEN’S POV

Jarod was really getting on my nerves as he kept saying or doing things that pissed me off. He has been giving me a hard time these days, appearing as a rival. I wasn’t ready to give up on my joy, neither was I ready to lose it and Lily was my joy.

I knew that he would watch closely at my faults and try to be better to Lily so she could favor him and probably start seeing him as the best option.

I could just punch him hard in the face but that was only going to make me lose points as I had already lost points when we went for a date. I had not noticed that I didn’t pay attention to her at all.

I should have noticed she was disappointed already. I asked to escort her and she rejected. I should have known from that time. I was so dumb to have allowed my emotions control me.

JAROD’S POV

I am going to make sure I win Lily’s heart by all means. Looks like our rival over here is beginning to lose some points. That is where my cue comes in, I will take over and I will win.

Lily’s smile makes me enchanted and I can do anything to have her. Cayden is an easy rival as he is quick to anger and Lily clearly doesn’t like such personality.

I will make sure I drift them apart with my two hands and show him who is boss.

The following week was a free week for the restaurant and Lily stayed at home to have enough rest.NôvelDrama.Org content.

“Granny, how do you feel as I’m home to keep you company for the week?” Lily asked.

“Oh you should know more than anyone how I love it when you are around. I feel so good right now and the day doesn’t seem boring as it used to be when you go to work.” Granny said.

“Granny, can I ask you a question?” Lily asked.

“How did you know grandpa loved you when you both were still very much young?” Lily asked.

“Hummm that is an interesting question to ask my dear. Well, I was young and beautiful, I had so many suitors. It was hard to know those who were after my beauty and physique or those who were after my my heart and soul.” Granny paused.

“Hmmm, interesting. I’m listening, granny” Lily said.

“Your grandpa did things differently, he did everything he wished to do for me and with me with a sincere heart…..” Granny was interrupted.

Then she heard a knock and went to check who was at the door.

“Who is at the door?” lily asked.

“It’s me, Cayden, ” he said.

Lily was shocked as she did not expect him. She opened the door for him and he hugged her.

“I came to keep you company, hope you do not mind,” Cayden asked.

“Of course not! I’ll love that,” Lily said with a smile on her face.

CAYDEN’S POV

I felt so relieved seeing her smile because of me again. I was determined to make the most of our time whenever we saw. I didn’t want Jarod to steak her from me in any way. He was cunning so, there is a possibility he could devise a way and I wouldn’t know.

I exchanged greetings with her granny and sat with her. We began to talk about different things and we laughed together, I was happy I was able to make her laugh. I urged Lily to join me, which she did.

I loved the way she laughed, she always looked the happiest whenever she was laughing.

“When Jacek wakes up, let us go on an outing to an amusement park, it would be so nice,” I said.

“Really? I am excited to go, thank you so much,” lily thanked me.

LILY’S POV

Cayden had become more flexible than he was those early times. I love the way he came to my house and had fun with my granny too. It’s not an easy thing to mingle with these oldies, and he is trying his best to make her laugh as much as possible.

“I would have to see you and Jarod tomorrow. I don’t know if you both have planned to see me throughout this week but I have to see you both tomorrow,” Lily said.

“Really? It’s strange that when it comes to Jarod, you cut him some slack. Why can’t you tell him to back off like the way you’ve done to others who seemed to be trespassing?” Cayden asked.

“Jarod is not a stranger and you know that,” Lily said.

CAYDEN’S POV

I didn’t want to initiate an argument tonight since tonight was the only certain time I had with her alone, to myself.

“Should we go for a night walk?” I asked.

“Yeah, sure. Also, I have sent a text to Jarod about it, so he might have been preparing for tomorrow,” Lily said.

“Alright,” I said.

The night breeze was cool and good for lovers but Lily and I weren’t lovers yet. I wished I could hug her but wasn’t sure. Especially because of what had happened recently.

“Lily, the breeze is cool this night. You should be thankful to me that I decided to walk you out,” I said, teasing her.

“Really? Oh! Do I need to bow?” Lily laughed.

I had eased out the tense, then I held her shoulders and kissed her. This time around, the kiss lasted a bit longer than anyone we’ve ever had together.

The next day, I had taken my bath, made myself smell nice and look more handsome for Lily as I knew that brat rival was going to be around. I drove to her house and surprisingly, Jarod was there already.

Did he get to her house very early? This devil incarnate never cease to annoy me.

“Hey guys, news flash. I would have to cancel my appointment with you guys. I have an appointment with someone else and I really have to go now,” Lily said.
