Chapter 7 Sweet Company
Chapter 7 Sweet Company
The patrolling police came soon.
The three were taken to the police station.
"You can go back first. It has nothing to do with you. I don't want to waste your time." Cherry turned
around and said to Jacob lightly.
"I'm also a good citizen who had caught the thief. What do you mean by driving me away?" He raised
his eyebrows.
Cherry narrowed her eyes.
She had been having a hard time when she met him. Now she finally got a better impression of him,
but he still argued with her. "Whatever."
She was the second one to finish her confession.
It was already late at night after recording the confession.
Jacob was still sitting on the bench outside the door.
"Are you waiting for me to drive you home?" Her hands were numb from falling, and she didn't know if
she could drive normally.
The man glanced at her and said indifferently, "Your wound needs to be treated. And I'm a doctor. "
She was stunned.
Jacob had already stood up and pulled her to sit down.
There was a small bag beside him, which contained simple cotton, disinfectant, anti-inflammatory drugs
and so on.
"You have these with you?" She was surprised. She couldn't help asking.
He looked up at her and pointed to the other side.
A huge signboard of pharmacy was clearly visible.
Cherry blushed.
It seemed that she was not smart enough to deal with this man.
He carefully dealt with the wound for her. When the medical alcohol touched the bleeding place, she
winced in pain, "Ouch!" He stared at her and said, "Now you know it hurts? Why did you pretend to be
strong just now? "
"When did I pretend to be strong?" She still protected her bag and said, "Here is the bill for all the
expenses tonight. If the money is lost, the loss will be great. I will pay a lot."
The look in Jacob's eyes suddenly changed.
Yes, she was narrow-minded, which would change a soft woman into a tough one.
He had seen that.
Seeing the bandaged Cherry, Adela Mei was stunned and asked, "What happened? Are you injured? "
"Forget it." "Bad luck!" Cherry sat down and took out the money from her bag. "I was almost robbed. By
the way, this money will be given to the students who attended the party planning that day. "
Adela Mei looked at her and shook her head, "Cherry, you..." She took the money and said, "You're
badly injured. Why don't you stay at home for two days? I've told you that it's not reliable for you to be
an agent... "
"Well." Cherry sipped her coffee and said, "You are more nagging than my father. You are just my
senior sister. How can you act like my mother?"
Adela Mei couldn't help laughing, "Am I that old?" She touched her face and said, "Forget it. Maybe it's
because I have been a teaching assistant for a long time that I act as an elder."
Cherry blinked naughtily and said, "In that case, you can find a handsome man to end your single life."
Adela Mei sneered, "Come on, as if you are going to marry."
"Hey, can we still be friends if you talk like this?"
"Don't be friends. I'm your senior." Adela Mei waved her hand decisively, and the waiter came up to her,
"Give me two blueberry cakes, two cups of ice cream..."
"No, just order one for each." Cherry hastily waved her hand.
"Woman, what will your money be used for if you don't eat?" Adela Mei rolled her eyes at her and said,
"If you eat it and gain a pound of weight, I allow you to curse me to grow two pounds!"
Resting her head on her hands, Cherry said, "Sister, you don't gain weight. Besides, I'm so hurt that I
can't visit anyone. Are you going to make me fat to death?"
"Take it easy." Adela Mei quickly cut a piece of cake for her. "A woman should love herself more when
no man loves her."
"Then find a man to love you."
"As for men, if they are reliable..." Adela Mei suddenly curled her lips and smiled.
Cherry sighed.
There was no one else in Adela Mei's family. She had been very independent since she was a child.
Although she was only two years older than her, as an assistant teacher in the University, she had to
do a lot of part-time jobs. She didn't buy a house in H City herself. She just bought a shop to rent, and
the rent of a month was very considerable.
"Don't say like that." Cherry added some sugar to her coffee and said, "Don't always drink bitter coffee.
Life is not so bitter."
With a bright smile, Adela Mei said, "Come on, you hypocrite. You should find a man to love you, but I
don't need it."
She suddenly remembered something and said, "Cherry, I'm going to open a new shop. Come with me
this afternoon."
"Come on, I don't have a share even if I go to see it." With a sigh, Cherry continued, "But I'm sure I'll go
since you asked." NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
Although her thighs were not very presentable.
"Didn't you just buy one last year? You bought another one this year? "
"Yes. I need to pay the bank loan. "
"Then..."
"I've changed to another school this term." Adela Mei smiled complacently, "I've succeeded in my job
hopping, and my annual salary will be doubled. So, reward myself."
Cherry decided to continue to eat the cake.
Compared with others, it was really annoying.
"Go to a new place and find out if there is a handsome man to be a boyfriend."
"Forget it." Adela Mei didn't mind it at all. "Even if there are some, they are extremely old handsome
man, who are retiring."
Cherry sighed. If only she could live as free and easy as Adela.
It was a rare day off, and her father had arranged a blind date for her in the evening.
She was just 27 years old, her father had already taken her as an inventory and was eager to clear it
as soon as possible...
A single woman was pathetic.
"No, I won't." While eating, Jacob didn't even look at the number plate on the table.
Another blind date...
Why did she play mysterious to ask him to meet her at the reserved table? Did she think that it would
cause sparks?
Pursing her lips and tears were about to fall, Donna said, "I know my life is miserable..." She wiped her
eyes, "You are my eldest son, and also my most proud son. Your younger brothers and sisters are still
young, and I just want to have a grandson like other 55 year old ladies. How can it be so difficult?"
The corners of Jacob's eyebrows twitched.
York Nelson coughed and said, "Well, how about you and have a look, Jacob?" His wife's poor acting
skill would have been exposed by him if they hadn't been married for more than 20 years. It was
against his conscience.
"No." Jacob was very determined, "Mom must have arranged Cherry for me."
Last time, he accompanied Cherry to finish the confession and then drove back. It was late at night,
and his mother was hiding in the room and looking at him through the crack of the door, laughing like a
cat. Did she think that he didn't notice?
"Cherry? Who is Cherry? " Donna pretended to forget it.
Jacob snorted and decided to ignore her.
"It's really not her." Donna cried out, "Go, go, son..."
"Well, if you don't go, the girl over there will have to wait for you for a while..." York sighed, "I don't think
it's good."
Jacob's heart skipped a beat.
He lowered his head and looked at the number paper on the table. He reached out and pressed it in his
palm.
"I'll go." He said lightly.
Donna immediately showed a smile and said, "Well, I know my son is the most obedient!"
"After this meeting, I won't promise such a meeting in a month." After saying that, Jacob pushed the
bowl away and stood up.
Donna's face changed.
Soon, she shook her head and comforted herself, "It's Okay. Maybe, it works this time."
To be honest, Jacob had wronged her mother.
She was still full of hope that the girl would definitely like her son.
How could she know that what her son was thinking was not the same at all?
The coffee shop was chosen by the dating man.
Cherry had been half full after eating with Adela during the whole afternoon, so she didn't want to eat
when she came to this dinner.
The appointed time was half past six, and the man didn't arrive until 7:30.
If it weren't for the son of her father's boss, she would have left without hesitation.
The man's face was covered with pimples, and the perfume could be smelled a few blocks away.
Cherry felt sick, but she didn't reveal the expression on her face.
"Are you hungry?" The man didn't feel sorry at all. "How about this? Order something to eat. I'm
starving to death."
Cherry raised her eyebrows and said, "Then order whatever you like."
The man wiped the menu with saliva on his index finger and read it, "I said to have dinner in my father's
restaurant, but he didn't allow me to do so. He said I would take you out. Alas, the food here is so
expensive." He seemed to have discovered a new continent. "By the way, aren't you girls interested in
losing weight? Then you can't eat too much for dinner. "
He was so proud that he called a waiter and ordered food for the two.
Cherry pricked up her ears and clearly heard that the man ordered a green salad for her.
"Is that okay?" He even smiled proudly at her.
"Sure." Why not?
She was already wondering how to refuse him, not only not to influence her father's work, but also to
get rid of this boy with pimples.
She had never seen such a stingy man.
He ordered a beef steak for himself. As soon as the dish was served, he began to eat it in a big gulp.
The sauce dripped on the table, and he was sweating, as if he had been hungry for a few days.
Cherry was glad that her dish was vegetable salad. Otherwise, she really couldn't eat it facing his
eating style.
After the man finished eating, the salad in front of Cherry was almost untouched.
"What? Aren't you hungry? " The man was surprised.
"Well, I did have afternoon tea." Cherry smiled awkwardly, "Or..."
"How about I eat it for you? Don't waste it."
Cherry was stunned when she saw that the man took the salad in front of her and began to eat it in
front of her.
Would a woman starve to death if she married such a man?
She really doubted that.
After the man finished eating, he rubbed his big hand.
