Let's not even mention that Roseanne and her two friends were students at Kingswell University, but their mentor and corresponding author, Madeleine, was a tenured professor there!

"Why wouldn't they publish under the university's name?"

Secretary: "Boundless Lab."

Something clicked in Hancock's mind, and he immediately grabbed his mouse to peruse the paper, scanning it multiple times without finding Madeleine's name.

He muttered to himself, "...No corresponding author? No, no, no... That can't be right..."

Secretary: "According to the regulations, if there's no corresponding author listed, the first author automatically assumes that role. So, what they did is technically fine."

Just then, Sinclair briskly emerged from the dean's office.

Hancock rarely saw such a grave expression on his face.

"Sinclair-what's going on?"

Sinclair Nelson: "Just the person I wanted to see. You're coming with me to Thornhaven!"

"Huh? Why the sudden trip to Thornhaven?"

"To find Madeleine!"

After the unveiling ceremony, Madeleine had taken Pauline back to Thornhaven to continue her recovery.

He answered immediately, his voice stern: "Madeleine, don't you think you owe the university an explanation?!"

"An explanation?" Madeleine chuckled, "What explanation?"

"By relinquishing your authorship and encouraging students to attribute their academic work to your lab, you're blatantly undermining the university's interests!"

"Ha..." Madeleine laughed again.

She expected the university to hold her accountable, but she didn't anticipate Sinclair's emotional reaction.

It wasn't indifference; the stakes just hadn't been high enough before.

Madeleine: "Sinclair, what right do you have to question me?"

"When Roseanne and the others were being bullied, where was the department? Where was the university? Over the years, I don't believe you were unaware of Edna's actions. What did you do about it?
