Chapter 348

Chapter 348 Roger Tried to Escape

Saul looked at Brook as if he was blaming Brook for talking too much.

Brook didn’t notice Saul’s eyes at all, and he only paid attention to Owen’s wide-open eyes. “Oh, so you don’t know about it?”

With that, Brook walked over and pressed the elevator button.

Owen hurried forward and asked, “Is Hailey really coming back today?”

“Yes, I’m going to pick her up.” Brook raised his wrist and looked at his watch. “Wow, we have to hurry up. She’ll arrive in about forty minutes. That naughty girl still wants to see Roger being taken to the plane with her own eyes.”

The elevator opened. Saul and Owen walked in at the same time, but they almost hit their shoulders.

The two looked at each other and said in a low voice, “sorry.”.

Brook looked up at them and felt strange.

After getting out of the elevator, Saul got into Brook’s car.

Owen got into his own car.

Jose brought a lot of people with him just in case.

A fleet headed toward the airport.

Hailey was still on the plane.

If it were in the past, she would have fallen asleep as soon as she got on the plane. But today, she couldn’t fall asleep, and she didn’t dare to.

Her eyes were wide open.

Mr. Ingram’s private plane was very luxurious, much larger, and more comfortable than Hailey’s. There were leather sofa seats, a TV, a bar counter, and so on, just like an apartment.

“What’s wrong with you?”

Randal took three glasses from the bar counter and a bottle of champagne. Looking at Hailey, he asked, “Don’t you like to kill time by sleeping on the plane? Why are you so energetic today?”

“I can’t fall asleep.” Hailey said seriously. “I’m just excited to see my hometown.”

Karl snorted and took the champagne from Randal’s hand. Sniffing it, he remarked indifferently, “You’re just scared.”

Randal couldn’t help laughing. “I agree with Karl.”

Hailey took a sip of champagne and pursed her lips grumpily. “Oh, please! Who would be not scared after experiencing such an air crash?”

Karl and Randal couldn’t help chucking and said in unison, “it’s rare for you to be afraid.”

Hailey was rendered speechless. She snorted and ignored them.

Even a God would be scared sometimes, not to mention that she was just an ordinary girl.

But in point of fact, Hailey was really fearless when she was a child. She liked to jump up and down and cause trouble everywhere, always feeling that her parents and brothers would be there to back her up no matter what happened.

The more she grew up, the more things she became afraid of. Now, she would weigh the pros and cons and think twice.

Perhaps as people grew up, their minds would become more and more complicated and not as simple as before.

Hailey looked at the large white clouds outside and the small buildings below while leaning against the window. Suddenly, she felt her heart was a little empty.

She was almost home, but why was she so restless?

Owen and Saul had arrived at the airport.

The police hadn’t arrived yet, and it was supposed that they were stuck in a traffic jam.

Brook raised his wrist to check the time. “We arrived ahead of time. Hailey’s flight will land in about fifteen minutes.”

Saul nodded.

Owen gave Jose a look. Jose took the hint and started to arrange his men.

Owen then sat in the lounge. The thought of meeting Hailey soon made Owen’s heart race in his chest. He was nervous, overjoyed, and sweaty.

“By the way, Saul,” Brook talked with Saul casually, “didn’t you say that you were back here to worship your ancestors this time? Is your family still in the capital city now?”

Owen looked up at Saul, also curious.

Saul replied, “Yes. It’s rare for them to come back. They’ll stay in the capital city for a while. I’ll go back to Traique first and come back after I get my work done.”

Owen’s heart sank as he thought, “He would come back again?”

“It must be tiring.” Brook felt a little embarrassed. “When you come back next time, Karl, Hailey, and I will treat you to dinner. Hailey will cook for you in person. She is really good at cooking.” Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Saul smiled. “I’m looking forward to it.”

Owen narrowed his eyes and thought, “Hmph! Want to eat Hailey’s food? Get away! Even I haven’t been able to eat. the food cooked by her many times!”

While they were talking, Owen’s phone suddenly rang, and then Saul’s phone also vibrated. It was from Lucas.

Owen answered it and heard some resounding sound from the other end of the line.

“Shit! Owen! Roger is running away! We got into a fight!” Lucas shouted.

Owen jumped up and ran out.

Brook vaguely heard the loud sound, but he didn’t hear what Owen and Lucas were talking about and shouted from behind, “What happened? Why don’t you wait for Hailey?”

Saul also stood up and said to Brook, “Roger wants to run away. I’ll go there. Wait for Hailey here.”

With that, Saul also rushed out of the lounge.

“Mr. Moore, what’s wrong? What happened?”

Seeing that Owen was dashing out in a hurry, Jose, who had just arranged his men, hurried to catch up with him. Owen said in a low voice, “Roger’s men ambushed on the way and went into a fight with the police. Take some people there right away. They’re near Diverous Mountain. Give me the car key!”

“Okay, I’ll do it right now. What about you, Mr. Moore?” Jose asked.

Owen, however, continued to rush outside with the car key. Jose wanted to stop him but failed, and he had to gather the people he had brought here again in a hurry.

As soon as Jose turned around, a tall figure rushed past him.

As soon as Owen got into the car and fastened the seat belt, Saul opened the door of the passenger seat and got in. “What are you doing here?” Owen frowned.

Saul responded, “Cut the crap. Let’s go.”

It was indeed not the right time to argue with each other.

Owen started the engine, turned the steering wheel, and drove out of the parking lot. As his car rushed on the asphalt road, it looked like a flying black dragon.

When he sped all the way to the foot of Diverous Mountain, he saw a mess from afar. The road was covered with blood, and there were people lying on the ground in disorder. Deafening sounds could be heard continuously.

Saul had already taken out two guns, loaded and handed one of them to Owen. “Take it.”

Owen didn’t hesitate to take it over. When he was about to stop the car, a car started the engine and sped towards them at high speed, gradually approaching the head of their car.

The one who drove the car was Roger.

His face, with a beard, twisted into a vicious smile. His shoulders and chest were shot, and his forehead cracked open. Blood streamed down his face, but the smell of blood made him mad.

He stepped on the gas, ran over the corpse regardless of anything, and rushed forward..

It was too late for Owen to dodge.

There was only one thought in Owen’s mind now – Hailey caught Roger by using herself as bait. He couldn’t let Roger escape, even if it meant he had to die.

With a gunshot, the tires screeched. Owen suddenly turned the steering wheel, and then a loud bang resounded through the valley.

Lucas and Jose, who had just arrived, watched Owen’s Bentley fly out, roll over on the ground a few times, turn its

head down and smash to the ground.

“Owen!”

People from all directions rushed over, and the whistles kept ringing.

Hailey and her two brothers finally got off the plane and landed safely.

The weather in Poya was so good today. When Hailey got down the ladder, she stretched herself. But somehow, she felt her heart contract, and she almost had a blackout.

Karl supported her in time and asked with concern, “What’s wrong?”

Hailey shook her head as she steadied herself with Karl’s help.

“I’m fine. Maybe I suffer from hypoglycemia and feel a little dizzy.”

Hearing this, Randal hurried back to the plane and asked the attendant for some chocolate for Hailey.

Hailey wolfed down the chocolate, but somehow it tasted bitter and bitter, and she still felt sick.

“Why do you look so pale?” Staring at Hailey’s ghostly-pale face, Randal frowned and said, “How about going home and having a rest?”

“I’m fine. Maybe it’s too hot. Let’s go out first. Roger will arrive soon.”

Hailey forced a smile and walked out with her brothers. From afar, she saw Brook waiting for her at the exit. They waved at Brook, but when Brook saw them, he didn’t look happy at all.

“What’s wrong with Brook? Was he scared by Karl?” Hailey teased, trying to pull herself together.

When they walked up to Brook, Brook’s eyes turned red. He held Hailey’s shoulder and said anxiously. “Hailey, promise me, don’t break down! You still have us. We will always be here with you.”

“What’s wrong with you?”

Confused, Hailey raised her hand to check the temperature of Brook’s forehead. “You don’t seem to have a fever.”

Karl sensed that something was wrong and asked seriously, “What happened?”

Tears welled up in Brook’s eyes again. He looked at Hailey, unsure of what to say.

Suddenly, Hailey’s phone rang. She picked it up. Somehow, her heart skipped a beat, and she almost couldn’t hold the phone in her hand.

She answered the phone and put it to her ear. After hearing what the man on the other end of the line had said,

Hailey stiffened, and her phone slipped down her palm and fell to the ground.

With a thud, it broke into pieces.

Hailey shook and rushed out like crazy.

“Hailey!”
