Love’ss 72
Chapter 72
Carrie and Stella had already arrived Seeing their dark expressions as she approached, Madelyn frowned and asked, “Why are you looking at me like this?”
“So, were you angry last night because of Natalie Sinclair?”
Madelyn stayed silent as she didn’t understand what Carrie meant. Seeing her confusion, Carrie handed her a phone.
Madelyn had spent the morning with Andrew, then gone straight to the Garcia residence. She took the phone from Carrie, frowning as she saw a trending news report.
One could guess what the headline entailed. The photo in the article. was of Andrew and Natalie in the garden last night.
Though the picture showed Natalie clinging to Andrew, the angle made it look like they were embracing.
Carrie lit a cigarette and said, “I don’t know what to say about you two. If you’re going to break up, just do it. Relationships are a joke.”
Madelyn chuckled. “Have you changed your mind so quickly?”
Just this morning, Carrie was giving her a hard time.
Stella placed her hand over Madelyn’s and asked, “Would you like to join us as part of the aristocracy?”
“As a single noble?”
“What’s wrong with being a single noble? It means less trouble–no hassle with men or anyone else,” Carrie replied.
Madelyn agreed with her sentiment, but she wasn’t about to join in.. She withdrew her hand, saying firmly. “That’s his cousin.”
Carrie and Stellà exchanged glances at the remark, then both turned to look at Madelyn.
“You haven’t forgiven Andrew already, have you?”
Madelyn lifted the glass in front of her and took a sip before giving Carrie a sidelong glance.
Carrie took a deep breath. “You’re a petty person. Wouldn’t youConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
usually be angry for a while longer?”
“Wasn’t it you who wanted me to stop throwing a tantrum at Andrew? “Madelyn retorted.
“That was in the afternoon! Things are different now. Even if that woman is his cousin, it’s not appropriate to be so affectionate His embrace is meant for you alone. Doesn’t he understand that?”
Madelyn almost burst out laughing at Carrie’s remarks.
Carrie’s firm principles were unmistakable. She believed in a clear distinction between right and wrong, no matter the relationship.
Glancing at the news reports, Madelyn sneered. “Don’t worry. Someone will handle this.”
In the entertainment industry, there were plenty of tricks to boost one’s fame through affiliation. However, the news involving Andrew and Natalie was something the Miller family could never tolerate.
Natalie must be panicking because of Leonard’s departure from Starlight Entertainment today. But desperate measures come with
consequences.
“Are you sure Mr. Miller has no interest in her?” Carrie asked.
“If he did, he would have divorced me already. He wouldn’t have dragged it out this long.”
“That’s true!” Carrie nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. They knew
Andrew well enough. If he had any feelings for Natalie, he wouldn’t care about ethics.
Since Andrew wasn’t interested in Natalie, it highlighted another
issue. Because of the drama between Madelyn and Andrew, women kept trying to get close to him.
After placing her order, Stella handed the menu to the waiter and turned to Madelyn. “You and Andrew need to bear a child.”
“Absolutely. With a child, those other women would back off. News like this would only make them look bad,” Carrie added.
Madelyn’s expression dimmed upon hearing their suggestion. Despite their active love life, she and Andrew had never had a child.
Madelyn couldn’t stop thinking about the test results from the hospital. Could the birth control pills she’d been taking caused lasting harm? It was clear she needed to visit the hospital soon.
