THE ACCIDENTAL KISS
"It's not easy to kill a human like him. He is too open-minded," she lamented.
"Fuck! You are useless! I don't want to talk to you anymore! I want you to think about how you have failed me." Lucifer said and cut off the mind link.
"Geez, he is getting angry when I am the one doing the job." Lucinda muttered to herself.
Ralph didn't notice Lucinda's presence; he was still at his desk trying to figure out what happened. "Who would have put such a dangerous thing here? Could it have been a demon? Emerald swords are possessed by powerful demons." Ralph thought to himself, stroking his chin, as he started to pace around, still thinking. Lucinda moved closer to his desk and tapped her foot on the floor, grabbing his attention. "Where have you been?" he yelled.
"Um, I was still feeding..." he cut in.
"Don't lie to me. I saw you walking into the office a few minutes ago." He said with a grunt.
"I... went to the bathroom after that." She muttered, stroking her hair.
"Hmm, just go eat something; it's our lunch break," he said, adjusting his suit jacket. Lucinda touched her stomach.
"I am not hungry," she said, and they both heard the sound of her rumbling stomach. She smiled nervously, avoiding his gaze.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
"Come with me." He said walking toward the door, and she started walking behind him. He paused at the door, and she bumped into him, hitting her head on his back.
"Come to the front. I don't like it when women walk behind me," he stated, and she ran past him, walking in front of him, as they made their way out of the office.
They arrived at the company cafeteria and settled down on a special table that was there for Ralph and his assistant, but he never used them or ate at the cafeteria. Ralph ordered food for both of them-a cheeseburger and a hot dog. The murmuring of the employees, who were staring at them with side eyes, caught Ralph's attention, but he decided to ignore them. Lucinda stared at a few of them and folded her hands.
"What in the world is going on? This is unbelievable. Our boss is eating at our cafeteria for the first time." An employee gossiped.
"The goddess has a good influence on our boss." Another one added. Ralph grunted in anger and rose to his feet, slamming his fist on the table, and everyone became silent. "Shut up and eat!!" He yelled, they all turned away and focused on their food. Lucinda stared at him with wide eyes, also surprised by his behavior; she thought he was reserved.
He was about to sit down when he met Lucinda's gaze and noticed there was a strand of her hair on her face, sticking out of the bangs. He leaned against her, resting his hand on the table, and stroked the hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear; her face became red like a tomato.
"T-Thank you," she whispered. His heart fluttered as he stared at his hand-this was the first time he had made a kind gesture.
"Sir, you are still standing," she said softly.
"Oh!!" he exclaimed and sat down, staring at her beautiful face while the waiter served their food. Ralph tried his best not to look at her and grabbed a cheeseburger, taking a bite out of it in a sexy way.
They finished eating and started walking back to the office together, but Ralph disappeared like he was in a hurry, leaving her alone on the main floor. It sparked her curiosity, so she turned invisible and flew through the walls of the building without using the elevator.
Ralph had a puzzle he needed to put together; it contained a picture of a map to get a sapphire; it was sent to him by one of his employees who was out looking for volcanoes; the puzzle was eight inches long; and he couldn't do it alone, so he waited in the office for Lucinda.
Lucinda walked into the office after waiting for a minute so he wouldn't grow suspicious.
"Lu..." Ralph couldn't finish his speech when Lucinda's phone beeped on her desk. She ran to her phone and grabbed it, staring at it. It was a text from Medusa.
"I hope you are no longer moody." Medusa texted.
"I am fine now see you at home." Lucinda replied, dropping her phone back on the desk, and attempted to sit on her chair when Ralph took out the map and spread it on the floor of the office. She paused, staring at him, wondering what he was doing.
"What is that?" she asked as she walked over to him, glancing at the map on the floor.
"It's a puzzle. Come and arrange it with me," he beamed.
"I don't think it's a good idea, I don't really like Puzzles," Lucinda muttered.
"Just give it a try," Ralph said, trying to figure out the place of the puzzle piece in his hand. Lucinda bent down far away from him as he adjusted a little for her and started trying to arrange the puzzle with him. He stole a glance at her and continued arranging the puzzle with her.
"I think this one belongs there." She said extending a puzzle piece to him, he took it from her, their fingers brushing in the process.
"You see, you are really good at it." He mentioned fixing it on the spot, she told him about. They continued arranging until they were in the middle of the puzzle; they both grabbed the last piece at the same time, extremely close to each other, and she could feel his hot breath touching her face. They both lifted their faces at the same time, and their lips touched. A tingling sensation ran through Lucinda's body, and she quickly stood up, clutching her lips.
"I... am sorry," he said as he pressed the final piece into place.
"Why did you do that? Why did you have to lift your head at the same time?" she asked. "Shit! I can't believe this, you shouldn't have lifted your head, why did you...Ugh!" She ranted.
