TIME SEEMED to both speed by and stand still as Sierra faced the consequences of her actions. She was filled with regret for everything she had done and was now confined in the dungeon, facing the reality of what her choices had caused. Deep down, she knew that she should never have acted on her desire to end the royal bloodline, but it had consumed her rationality and clouded her judgment. She didn't even consider the potential loss of innocent lives in her plan. "How are you?" Helga asked softly as she approached the cell where her sister-in-law sat silently on the wooden bed, her hands resting in her lap. "Do you need anything?" "I'm okay," Sierra replied, although she couldn't shake off the guilt that weighed heavily on her heart. Everyone she had convinced to join her on the island for her plan was now dead, while she was here, still alive and receiving slightly better treatment despite being held captive. entle but but laced with

"I talked to your brother earlier, he said you refused to rejoin the royal pack," Helga's voice concern as she spoke to Sierra, especially when she recalled how Siegren had been visibly s cared deeply for his sister despite everything that had happened between them. That was why Helga was here, hoping to convince Sierra to return to the palace and repair her relationship with her brother.

As she stood in front of Sierra, Helga couldn't help but notice the sadness in her eyes and the weight of regret that seemed to cling to her every movement. She knew that mending their sibling relationship would not be an easy task. But she was determined to succeed, for the sake of both Sierra and Siegren, as well as the royal pack. "Is your guilt the reason why you no longer wish to be part of the pack?" she asked, causing Sierra to flinch slightly upon hearing the question. "You know, everyone in the pack was more relieved that you're alive rather than disappointed because of your wrongdoings." "Once your probation is over, the pack will surely welcome you back. So why not consider rejoining? You could help me and your brother in our mission to change the ways of royalty and start afresh."" "After Knowing I tried to kill I you?" Sierra asked, sked, her voice calm yet there was underlying sarcasm and disbelief laced into the words that made Helga feel uneasy. ou were

by your hatred of the royals, and I understand that. Besides, you already apologized to me, remember?" Helga smiled as she recalled how Sierra apologized to her as soon as she regained consciousness after they returned to the palace. The incident had caused quite a commotion i in the late hours of the night, with everyone in the palace shocked to see the alive and well princess they thought was dead. "I've forgiven you, that means we're okay," Helga added, watching how the princess got to her feet and made her way over to where she was standing. Sierra a found some sol

solace in Queen Luna's words and couldn't help but think that Helga possessed a certain power to sway anyone's thoughts and actions. And that made her want to seize the second chance they'd given her. "Is it really okay for me to join the pack after everything I've done?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion as she desperately wanted to redeem herself. But every time she reflected on her past actions, guilt weighed heavily on her heart, and she couldn't seem to shake it off. Even if she longed to make amends and reunite with the pack, she didn't know if she could ever forgive herself.

"It's all right," Helga nodded reassuringly and placed her hands inside the cell, gently taking Sierra's trembling hand in hers. She rubbed soothing circles on it, causing her sister-in-law to purse her lips before looking up to meet her emerald eyes that held no lie. "The truth is..." Sierra paused, taking a deep breath before revealing the truth that she couldn't tell her brother because it still felt awkward between them, "I only meant to scare you during the first attack, and the same goes for the previous candidates who died,"

"I had instructed my accomplices to simply frighten them, but when I found out they were planning to kill my brother, I couldn't bear it and instructed my spies in the palace to get rid of them."

Helga was taken aback by Sierra's revelation, but she man keep her composure and remain calm for the sake of a

smooth conversation.

"Many werewolves coveted the throne of the Alpha King, believing that someone who was cursed should not be in charge of the country. This is why my brother's enemies used the previous candidates to try and eliminate him." Sierra went on to elaborate, while Helga listened closely, her heart thumping rapidly in her chest. "Fortunately, my people discovered their plot before they could put it into action." "The royal bloodline and my brother were two things I despised, but the idea of someone killing him made me lose all rationality. At that moment, I believed that if he would die, we should die together instead." As Sierra reflected on her words, she couldn't help but acknowledge how insane they sounded.

"I know it doesn't make sense," she conceded, "But none of the previous candidates could cl nocence either. They may have been coerced into attempting to kill my brother, but in the end, they still chose to embrace evil like I did." "Have you already told this to Siegren? I feel like he should know about this so, he would be aware that there's a threat in his life." Helga said, concern evident in her voice which only served to make Sierra smile bitterly at that.

"I haven't told him yet, but I knew he was already aware of the threat to his life. Even before he had formally ascended to the throne, his life had been in constant danger." Sierra sighed, the weight of guilt crashed down on Sierra as she remembered all the hardships and suffering her brother had had endured for being the rightful heir. If only she had been braved enough to face him and tell him the truth instead of betraying him, perhaps things would have turned out differently. But now, it was too late. The damage had been done and she could

only see herself as a as a pitiful and d remorseful I person.

"You don't mind if I told him everything you revealed, do you?" Helga asked, smiling warmly when Sierra shook her head. Adright, he tell him everything because I could feel the guilt that had been weighing on his mind ever since he found out you were responsible for the deaths of the other candidates." Helga said, "He blames himself for your actions because he feels like he failed as an to protect and guide you."

"I hope you rejoin the pack and allow your brother to make up for the times he wasn't there for you. Reconcile with him and consider it as making amends for the mistakes that you've committed." Helga added, her voice calm but the way she delivered her words sounded how a good leader should be, giving support and I encouragement to those who needed it most "We will give you some time, just so that you can make your peace with yourself and decide what path you would choose to take from now on." "Thank you," Sierra's voice cracked with emotion when she heard the queen say these kind words. Helga smiled and said goodbye, leaving Sierra to sit on the bed, tears streaming down her face as she quietly sobbed. She had always longed for a sister and knowing that Helga accepted her made her feel overwhelmed with emotions. "YOUR MAJESTY." Helga halted in her tracks when someone called her while she was walking in the hallway. She turned and watched how the maid quickly ran in her direction.

"What's wrong?" she asked, but then, her question was answered when she noticed the maid clutching onto an envelope with a recognizable seal. In an instant, she understood what was about to happen.

"There's a letter for you," the maid said, handing her the envelope which she immediately opened. As soon as she saw the invitation, her lips curved into a smirk, feeling her body shaking as an uncontrollable mix of emotions consumed her. She then unfolds the letter and reads through the contents, chuckling at how absurd Ezra's letter can be. It's been so long since she had even thought about him, let alone remembered his existence, but this is how he will remain in her memory.

"It sure audacious of him to invite me to his wedding."
