Chapter 3529 Panzin Defeated
Panzin's eyes flashed with disdain as he sized up Matthew's lean frame. "You'd
better get the hell off this stage while I'm still feeling generous, kid. Otherwise, I'll crush your skull with one punch!"
The crowd erupted into cheers.
"Crush his head, Panzin!"
"Show that pretty boy the Death Arena isn't for the likes of him!"
"Beat him into a pulp, Panzin!"noveldrama
The thunderous cheers brought a smile of satisfaction to Panzin's face.
"No need for that. Let's begin," Matthew replied calmly.
His light remark wiped the smile off Panzin's face, replacing it with a murderous glint. "Since you're so eager to die, I'll grant your wish!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Panzin lunged forward like a raging beast. His fists, encased in black alloy gauntlets that gleamed under the arena lights, swung with bone-crushing force toward Matthew.
Matthew tilted his body slightly to the right, allowing Panzin's fist to brush past him harmlessly. In the next instant, Matthew's pale, jade-like hand shot out and gripped Panzin's wrist. With a slight squeeze, pain twisted across Panzin's face. But before he could react, his other fist came hurtling toward Matthew's head.
Without loosening his grip, Matthew pulled Panzin's wrist in front of him, using it as a shield to block the incoming punch. Panzin's left fist collided with his own right arm, and the sickening crack of bone echoed through the arena. Pain contorted Panzin's face as Matthew exerted a little more force, sending Panzin's massive frame flying backward. He crashed off the stage and landed on the ground below, completely incapacitated.
Silence fell over the entire arena.
No one could believe what they had just witnessed. The feared and highly anticipated Panzin the Bonebreaker had been thrown from the stage with such
ease.
The gamblers who had wagered their entire fortunes on Panzin's victory turned red-eyed with fury. Without that money, they wouldn't just fail to leave this place- they wouldn't even survive. Their only option would be to scrape by on the sixth floor.
"Kill him!"
"I bet 30 thousand Dornia Emeralds on him-it's all gone!"
Several spectators drew guns and weapons, ready to storm the stage and tear Panzin apart for losing.
Matthew stood on the platform, his cold gaze sweeping over the furious gamblers. The intensity of his stare sent a chill down their spines, and their wild eyes and raised weapons hesitated.
Pathetic fools.
Matthew turned to the referee, who stood frozen a short distance away. "Shouldn't you announce the result now?"
"I-I declare... Matteo Larden is the winner!"
Applause and cheers erupted from a
section of the stands. Garrett,
seated among the spectators, watched Matthew with undisguised excitement. The speed, precision and technique Matthew had just demonstrated were beyond what an ordinary fighter could achieve. If he could bring Matthew under his wing, investing everything to cultivate his talent might not be a bad idea.
Up in the VIP viewing box, Shaun had stopped fondling the women beside him.
His pale face was now focused intently on Matthew's figure in the arena below.
"This guy... he's not as simple as he looks."
After a moment of thought, Shaun glanced at the subordinate beside him. "Who's fighting that guy later this afternoon?"
Shaun knew that if Matthew wanted to challenge him, he'd have to win three consecutive matches against increasingly powerful opponents. Without those victories, he wouldn't qualify for a bout against a first-level fighter like Shaun.
"Mr. Mendoza, since you're a first-tier fighter in the Death Arena, he'll need to
defeat fighters from the third and fifth tiers before facing you.
"Currently, there's only one fifth-tier contender available for the next match: Deathcarver, a master of blade arts. His swordsmanship is unparalleled. So far, no one who's fought him has ever lasted beyond three moves."
