In the evening.

Alicia went to Grace's house again after work, and Grace was shocked by the dark face of Alicia.

Her normally flamboyant and flirtatious face had turned into an iceberg. And the posture she took off her heels showed her anger.

Grace, tucking in a bag of pickles, came up to her, full of gossip.

"You're crying?"

Alicia glimpsed at her.

"No."

"What happened? Your face stinks."

"Nothing."

Alicia took off her jacket and was about to head to the bathroom to take a shower when Grace bumbled over to her again. Grace changed the topic deliberately.

"I thought you were going back to your flat tonight. Now you are here. Let's go out to eat after you take a shower."

"I don't want to go out."

"Takeaway?"

"No appetite."

Grace rarely saw Alicia in this depressed state. She looked at Alicia in confusion.

"What's wrong with you?"

"I want to sleep after my shower. You can eat by yourself."

Grace, who was shut out of the bathroom door, guessed that Alicia was really in a bad situation.

But with Alicia's stubborn and stubborn temper, it's hard to get words out of her.

Grace knew that Alicia would talk about it once she had calmed down, so she didn't worry about it. She ordered takeout and sat down in the living room to watch TV.

When the takeaway arrived, Grace went downstairs to pick it up. She bumped into the shiny silver Lamborghini with the license plate number 8888.

Edmond was leaning against the front of the car, with his head down, sending messages on his mobile phone, holding a cigarette between his fingertips, and occasionally taking two impatient puffs.

Grace hesitated for a moment but walked over to greet him with a grin.

"Mr. Agos, what a coincidence."

The man looked up, and Grace could see unprecedented urgency in his face.

"Is Licia at your house?"

She was not familiar with Edmond. Usually, she would say hello to him when they met at the bar, and Edmond always ignored her. At this moment, he wanted to go up to find Alicia, but he did not

have a good excuse.

Grace took one look at his appearance and then associated it with Alicia's dark face, realizing that something happened between the two.

So she shrugged her shoulders and didn't tell him the truth.

"I don't know."

Edmond pursed his lips before saying, "I want to see her."

"That won't work. My friend is in a bad mood because you've upset her, and she won't be happy to see you."

"At least let her put me off the blacklist and answer my calls."

Grace sniffed and tsked.

"Licia never blocks people. You must have gone too far."

Edmond's face darkened, "I don't even know what I did wrong."

He said with an aggrieved tone.

But Grace thought he refused to admit his mistake, so she couldn't help but say with anger.

"Men all like this, doing something wrong but still pretending to be innocent. It seems like women are unreasonable. Mr.Agos, you'll be sorry."

After Grace cursed Edmond, she wanted to hurry back to tell Alicia about his arrival. But Edmond's words stopped her.

*

Alicia couldn't fall asleep at all, lying on Grace's bed and staring at the ceiling.

She didn't seem to be sober and sensible these days.

She was determined to build her own career and pester Edmond for the rest of her life. She also warned herself that she must never jump into his trap, but eventually, she took this marriage seriously and fell in love with Edmond.

It's true that people forget the pain when they get over a wound.

The wounds she had once in college time came back once again with a vengeance now, and the pain in her chest reminded her that she was a big fool.

So stupid.

She'd actually thought about having a good time with Edmond until Diane had come at her with her medical report.

The words 'pregnancy' on the report slapped Alicia awake hard.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

She was angry at herself for being so gullible, so naive, that every time she wanted to trust him, she was hurt badly.

It was like that before, and it was like that now.

She closed her eyes in annoyance when the sound of the bedroom door opening came.

Crunch-

The harsh light from outside shone in, and Alicia didn't open her eyes but heard footsteps approaching her.
