of them were smiling while looking at the camera. The family picture looked happy and beatific.
Wilson's hand fell onto the beautiful face of the lady. He kept touching her, looking tender and
reminiscent.
At this moment, the butler came in and said softly, "Sir, Miss Moore is here."
Wilson put down the photo and said, "let her in."
As soon as Verena stepped in, she stood still in front of the desk. She didn't look panic just like a
moment ago. Instead, she turned to be calm.
"It seems that you have noticed what happened last night." Wilson looked a bit satisfied.
Commonly speaking, a girl would tend to be trapped into panic and keep crying if something like that
happened. However, if she thought it over, she would find out something fishy.
She was aware that Lemuel hated her so much. Of course he would never take the initiative to sleep
with her.
Besides, she remembered that she only took the glass of juice and she had only talked to Wilson last
night.
She fainted after taking the juice. So the cause would be quite obvious—the juice must be drugged.
Sammy was still a kid. It would be impossible for him to be the culprit. It was Wilson who told her to
take the juice, besides, she happened to see Wilson as soon as she woke up this morning. Everything
turned to be such a great coincidence. So she was quite sure that it was Wilson who made the plan.
But she still had no idea what was his purpose. He made his own young fiancée sleep with his son.
She failed to figure out what he wanted by doing so.
"Don't worry. I will tell you the reason. Please take a seat." Wilson pointed at the seat opposite him.
"No, thank. It's okay for me to stand here." Verena refused. His conspiracy had already imposed
irreparable pain on her.
When feeling her annoyance, Wilson smiled and then said seriously after a while, "I am afraid that I
don't have much time left."
Verena remained silent and stood still.
"I am diagnosed as having terminal lung cancer. Even the chemotherapy doesn't work. So I may die
soon." Wilson stared at her and then continued, "So actually, I didn't want to make you my fiancée, but
Lemuel's."
Frowning, Verena still didn't reply. But she had never expected that the truth turned out to be so
ridiculous.
"So I made you serve as his assistant in the company so as to build up your relationship with him. But I
didn't expect that the consequence went against my will. I used to deem that I still have enough time to
make a plan for it. However, the lung cancer is getting much worse than I have ever expected. I don't
have much time left. But the relationship between you and him still makes no progress. That was why I
came up with this bad idea to make you sleep with him."
When hearing that, Verena huffed angrily, "But this your own plan! You have never asked about my
opinions!"
She indeed signed a contract with him before. However, it didn't mean that she could just simply accept
the fact that she was taken advantage of without being noticed.
"Now I want to apologize to me sincerely. Sorry!" Wilson said.
"Don't you think it's too late? Do you think it can make up for my loss?" Verena was so mad that her
chest kept heaving.
"Of course I can't. And I never try to deny that. But now the most important thing is that you have to
marry Lemuel."
Verena was rendered so outrageous that she couldn't help shouting, "The contract I signed only
stipulated that I should be your fiancée only! Not your son's! I am a woman, not something to be
traded!"
Lemuel hated her while she also hated Lemuel. Of course she didn't want to marry Lemuel even if it
was the order of Wilson.
Wilson shook his head, "Miss Moore, didn't you read the contract carefully when you signed it? There is
a stipulation prescribed that if accident occurs before marriage, Verena Moore has to abide by the
decision of Wilson Lawson."
"So everything went on according to your plan from the very beginning!" Verena stared at him.
"Yes, so you have no choice! You can only do as what I tell you!"
"Why shall I be left no choice? I can totally ignore your request as the contract was just a private one. It
is totally illegitimate!" Of course, she was not a fool. She would never just wait for his disposal.
Wilson smiled and nodded, "Of course, Miss Moore, you can go against the contract. I won't ask you
for damages. However, I will shut down the financial support for your father."
When hearing that, Verena couldn't help getting still all over. Her father had been her only soft spot. So
Wilson could just easily control her with that.
"You should know how powerless you are when facing the huge amount of medical fee of your father.
And I am not a cold-blooded person. If you marry Lemuel, you have the right to divorce him a year
later. I will show no objection. Even if you divorce him, I will still continue with the financial support for
your father." Wilson said every single word clearly.
Silent, Verena fixed her eyes on him, pondering. She wanted to know what kind of tricks he was up to
again. However, there was no denying that she wanted to give in when hearing his proposal.
"Besides, I know both of you hate each other. Since then, you have nothing else to worry about after
marriage. Both of you can just get down to your own life respectively. That sounds good, right?" he
smiled and repeated his tempting proposal again, waiting for her approval.
As expected, Verena was overwhelmed with the urge to give in as his proposal was really appealing to
her. She bit her lips hard.
"Miss Moore, what do you think? Would you like to agree or not?"
"I am left no choice, right?" Verena said bitterly. She could never decide her own fate. Besides, she
was still worried, "He hates me so much. I don't think he will agree to marry me."
Wilson didn't deny that, "So it depends on you."
"What if he still refuses?"
"Sorry, I can do nothing about it. I have to apologize to you if that happens!"
"So what about the thing happened last night? Are you going to ignore it?"
Wilson nodded, "So, Miss Moore, you have to make it and I am confident in you!"
However, Verena had no confidence in making Lemuel marry her.
