Chapter 7 Attend the Auction
Chapter 7 Attend the Auction
Gladys was sitting on her chair. When hearing the door being opened, she smiled at Verena, who was
walking in, "Welcome."
Verena held back the mixed feelings inside her and forced a smile, "Hello, Gladys."
"Take a seat! What happened this time?"
Though she had only met Verena for a few times, she loved to talk with this tough and brave girl.
Though Verena felt a bit awkward to mention her request, she pinched her thigh hard and tried to hold
back the pain, "I…I need more money to pay off the surgery for my father…so…"
When hearing that, Gladys knew what had happened.
She sighed, "What a hard time for you!"
Verena then cut straight into the topic, "Gladys, can I get money as much as possible in a short time?"
Gladys then turned around to hand her a flyer, "Have a look."
But Verena had been quite familiar with it.
Though she had seen it, she still couldn't help shivering when holding the flyer. Then she raised her
eyes to look at Gladys, "Gladys, it's an auction of women trafficking…I don't want to…"
But Gladys interrupted, "I know what you are thinking. But this is the only and best choice now. Have
you ever thought about the total of the medical fee of your father? It's a continuous cost. Even if you
sleep with anyone of those rich guys tonight, you can only pay for the surgery this time. But what are
you going to for the next surgery?"
Verena moved her lips a bit. But she failed to utter a word.
Though it sounded cruel, that was the reality she had to face.
"Sleep with another guy next time? As long as you attend the auction, you have no idea how much you
can get from it. But it must be a big money for you! And then you can definitely pay off the fee for your
father during a certain period of time. Perhaps your father will also wake up then. Now you have two
choices only—you may sleep anyone of them or many of them. As far as I know about you, I am sure
the first choice would be better for you." Gladys fixed her eyes on her.
"You are a good girl. So I really hope that you can choose to attend the auction. You would rather just
stay with one of them than many of them."
Verena kept her head down while she kept trembling all over. So did her heart.
After quite a while, her hoarse voice finally sounded again in the office, "Okay…"
She even noticed herself that her own voice this time sounded so different from usual that she even
failed to recognize it.
She seemed to feel that that was not her own voice!
"Just get yourself prepared. The auction will be held tomorrow night. All girls are now ready to pick up
the most eye-catching dress for their own. And you have to be the most impressive one!"
Verena forced out a word to answer, "Okay!"
Then Gladys sighed and comforted her, "Just get used to it. No one wants to make this choice,
including most girls here."
"I know that. Gladys, don't worry about me."
Verena smiled. But her heart was still overwhelmed by bad feelings.
"Okay." Gladys nodded.
After hearing the rules mentioned by Gladys, Verena headed for the fitting room.
There were all kinds of girls in the fitting room, who were all picking up the dress or costume they
needed for tomorrow night.
Verena didn't step forward. She just stood in a corner.
She just stood still and saw that all girls were bustling around to strive to get the best dress.
Soon, the room fell into silence. There were only two dresses left in the closet, one of which was a
green deep V evening dress. It looked quite simple as it stretched out to the ankle without any
beadwork.
While the other one was a black tee evening dress. It looked less luxurious but quite sexy enough.
As Verena just reached out her hand, someone else took action faster than her to grab the black
evening dress.
She turned around and saw a beautiful lady glance at her with disdain. Then she showed Verena the
night dress complacently while shaking it in front of her.
"There is no need to gloat over it…" Verena took a weird glimpse at her, "Actually I plan to take the
green one!"
"You!" the lady glared at her and huffed. Then she swaggered away while holding the dress.
Verena took the green one and sat beside silently.
Though no one could see her eyes clearly, she looked quite determined.

She had no way back as the auction was coming.
…
Owen was lying on a sofa while flipping through files.
Then the door of the bathroom was opened.
Lemuel, who wrapped himself with bath towel, walked out of the bathroom. Water kept dropping down
from his hairs.
"Hey, here is the information you want."
Owen just casually threw him the files.
Lemuel sat down on another sofa and kept flipping through the files. His deadly appealing face looked
cold as usual.
Owen then smiled and approached him. He even slightly scratched Lemuel's wet chest with his hand.
Then he murmured, "What a prince charming! If I were a girl, I would definitely pounce on you!"
Lemuel glanced at him and suddenly stamped on his foot.
When hearing him screaming out of pain, Lemuel still kept browsing the files, looking casual and
mysterious.
Owen said while whining, "Hey, do you know that there will be an auction held by the Muse Bar
tomorrow night at 8:00 PM?"
"So?"
Lemuel still focused on the files. He just answered simply. It seemed that he showed no interest in it.
"The auction items are all beautiful girls!" Owen was getting thrilled. Then he continued, "So, Mr.
Lawson, let's go together! I really fancy fresh girls!"
"No!"
"Come on!"
When hearing his voice, Lemuel rubbed against his temples, feeling annoyed, "If you dare to continue
with your crap, I will get you back to Britain!"
Owen then shut up, looking painful. The room fell into silence again.
