Chapter 621
"I'm so damn angry!"
Clarence had never been so insulted before in his life. He was so mad that his face turned a shade of purple.
He thought that Dustin and Simone would walk on eggshells around him and cater to his every whim to keep the hospital afloat. After all, he was the last resource the hospital had.
Yet, he had never imagined that Dustin would not care at all.
"You punk! Do you know what will happen if you fire me? Hmph! The hospital will go under immediately! There's no chance of saving it!" Clarence said with a scoff.
Dustin was terrifyingly calm.
"On the contrary, I think that the hospital will do better without an old fart like you," he said indifferently. "So, you should get lost. Don't make me say it again!"
"You... You..."
Clarence's mouth opened wide, but he could not say anything further.
He had miscalculated.
He definitely did not want to lose out on the significant benefits that being the assistant director of the hospital gave him.
He did not understand it. Did Dustin have a screw loose in his head? Why was he unaware of the costs and benefits of doing something?
"Miss Simone, do you approve of this man firing me?" he asked Simone because he had no choice but to pressure her.
He could tell that Simone was panicking.
"You'd better think this through. I'm the best bet this hospital has!"
"I..." Simone's face was pinched in helplessness. She looked at Clarence and then at Dustin.
She knew that Dustin was letting her have the last word.
She also knew that going against Dustin's word would humiliate him. Every member of the hospital's staff would laugh at him after that.
"Dustin, that's enough," she said softly as she pulled Dustin to one side.
"We really can't afford to offend Dr. Boudin. It's fine if I have to suffer some
indignation. You can't back down for the sake of your pride, so I'll apologize to him for you. But please don't interrupt and upset him any further, okay?"
Simone's words warmed Dustin's heart.
Although she did not understand, Simone did not blame him for what he was doing. On the contrary, she was ready to take the heat for him and get insulted to apologize on his behalf.
How could he not love her?
However, it was because of this that he could not allow her to suffer such indignity!
"Simone, trust me. We don't need to rely on this old fart," Dustin said gently. Then, he turned around.
"Dr. Boudin, stop making such a big deal of your seniority and experience. You should get lost quickly!"
Clarence's face went red.
"Fine! Good! I'll leave! However, you'll soon find out just how wrong and stupid your decision is!"
Clarence huffed as he looked at the department heads in his office.
"You heard that, everyone. I've
poured my sweat and blood into Peace Hospital for more than twenty years. But these people don't care for any of my contributions. You'd better think things through as noveldrama
well!"
"Dr. Boudin, we will go with you!"
"That's right! We don't care enough to stay at this horrible hospital!"
"If this hospital won't have us, another one will!"
After Clarence's provocation, all the department heads immediately went along with him.
"Uh..." Simone was flabbergasted.
If the department heads left as well, then Peace Hospital was really done for!
A hospital without any doctors was
only an empty shell. There was no
chance that they would be ab
make a
a comeback and beat
Langley family's hospital.
“Hehe... Let's see how Peace Hospital is supposed to operate once we all leave!" Clarence chuckled.
Simone was at a loss, but Dustin was unbothered.
"Leave quickly if you're going to. The hospital definitely won't keep any of you.
You're not much use, anyway. You're all quacks," Dustin said.
What do you think?
