The afternoon sun bathed the gardens of the Evans house. Lucius and Amanda were lying under the oak tree in Magnus's yard.

"Lucius, have you thought about what we talked about?" Amanda asked, looking at the man lying beside her.

"Mmm... no. Right now, I'm relaxing under a tree, holding a sweet and beautiful girl in my arms. My mind is completely blank," Lucius said lazily.

"Lucius! We're leaving for New Zealand soon, and it's important that you deal with what you need to deal with. Besides, from what you told me, she's leaving too. So if you're going to do something, now's the time," Amanda said, slipping out of his embrace.

"Lucius, honey, I care about you, and I love being with you. I adore our time together in bed. But if you don't go and apologize to your sister for what you did, then you and I aren't sleeping together for a long while. And believe me, I've got enough willpower to stick to it."

"I said what I said," she replied, not backing down for a second.

Lucius looked at the woman beside him and could only shoot her a death glare. She'd been telling him for a while now that he needed to make peace with Serenity, that he should apologize. But until now, she hadn't forced him.

This was when he regretted being so open with her. She took the whole "fix things with your sister" thing way too seriously.

To be honest, when he first found out he had a sister, he kind of liked the idea. He wasn't exactly jumping for joy, but the thought of another woman in the family made him think Laura might open up more, maybe even make a real connection.

And Lucius hadn't been wrong. When Laura and Serenity met, they hit it off. Over time, Laura started to trust her older sister-who stepped up when Lucius disappeared.
