Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 468

Nadine mistook Brad for Jack when she first laid eyes on him. But it didn't take long for her to realize that the two of them were worlds apart. Lost in memories of her love, she wept inconsolably in the solitude of the emergency exit.

Just then, the emergency exit door swung open, and a tall, slender figure walked in. The emergency exit was shrouded in darkness, save for the dim green glow of the exit sign, which flickered like a dying firefly. Then, a familiar earthy scent wafted through the air.

Nadine, who was bawling her eyes out, instantly recognized who it was. She couldn't make out his face in the darkness, but from the way he carried himself and that familiar scent clinging to him, she could tell without a doubt that it was Brad.noveldrama

Lost in her grief, she glanced at him and pinched her thigh hard to pull herself together. When she noticed he was frowning at her, she sniffled and tried to calm herself, steeling herself for whatever was to come.

Nadine figured he must have been deceived by Jean and was here to seek justice for her. If that was the case, she'd rather face off against him than back down.

After leaving Jean's hospital room, Brad headed straight for Nadine's department. Yet, when he reached the nurses' station, she was nowhere to be found. So, he'd asked her coworkers.

When he learned that she had gone to check on her patients, he had gone room to room in the cardiology department to look for her, but she was nowhere to be seen.

As he puzzled over her whereabouts, he noticed the emergency exit door was slightly ajar. Instinctively, he walked toward it, and that was when he heard a woman's muffled sobs.

Brad wasted no time in pushing the door open and stepping inside. There, leaning against the sterile

white wall was Nadine, her face buried in her hands, her body

trembling with silent sobs.

In an instant, he felt a dull ache in his chest, as if an invisible hand had twisted his

heart. It was so abrupt and intense that he couldn't help but notice it.

Once he was certain the woman was Nadine, Brad gazed at her with a frown. He was surprised that she could cry so sorrowfully.

Over the past six years, he had never seen Nadine shed a tear. He had always thought she was invincible. But now, he realized that even she, the seemingly indomitable, was capable of shedding tears.

Brad wasn't sure how to offer comfort, so he cleared his throat and asked lowly, "Why are you crying?"

Her sobs unsettled him. He wasn't irritated. Rather, he felt an

overwhelming urge to draw her into his arms and offer her his shoulder to lea on. His mind barely had time to process this before his body moved of its own accord.

Before Nadine could react, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her

into his embrace and resting her head against his chest.

Nadine was caught off guard. Had Brad been possessed or something? What on earth was he doing, acting like this?

With her face pressed against Brad's chest, thoughts whirled through her mind. Had Brad officially lost his mind?
