She's the luna I want

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

JACE.

"Name your price, Jace. I saved up so much I’m sure I can pay you." She answered in a hoarse voice,

and I was just about to counter her when all of a sudden her mouth crashed against mine.

For a long, suspended moment, I was left frozen in my spot, contemplating, unsure of whether I wanted

to pull her body away from mine or hold her tightly.

She was crossing the line, and for some reason, I was just letting her.

I closed my eyes as her soft and warm lips devoured mine, and I knew my control was slowly slipping

away.

My chest rumbled with a low growl as my hands cupped her ass and lifted her off the ground, while her

legs automatically wrapped around my waist. My hand then moved to the back of her head, pressing

her closer while holding her in place, before my lips finally gave in and opened.

I heard her sudden intake of breath before her hands grabbed my hair and pulled them tightly as she

moved her lips against mine and kissed me as if she had no plans of letting go.

And I was doing the same thing.

I was kissing Amara as if I owned her lips and I was gripping her ass as if they were made for my

hands.

I moved swiftly until I was able to slam her back against the cold walls of the basement and press my

body onto hers.

She began moving her hips, grinding her front into my growing erection, and I felt like cold water had

splashed all over me.

This was all wrong.

I abruptly withdrew my lips from her, and it made her whimper in defiance before she snapped her eyes

open. Her eyes dilated, and the ecstasy present in her face just a moment ago had now warped into a

scowl.

"I can smell your arousal, Amara." Fuck! why did I have to say that out loud?

"And I can feel your hard dick." She replied cockily, her eyebrows hiking up as she stared at my lips.

"Exactly. We need to stop."

"And why?"

"Amara, enough." I dropped her to the floor, but her arms remained locked around my neck.

"You want me, Jace. I see it in your eyes, and I can feel it in the way you kiss me."

"But it doesn’t mean I would come and bang you."

"Goddes, Jace! I’m not even asking you to fuck me! What are you so afraid of?"

"I’m not your fucking mate!"

"And so? I’m not saying that I am."

"Amara, look at you! What makes you think that at seventeen, the man you wanted will be the man

you’ll want in your twenties? Don’t waste your time." I removed her arms from neck until she completely

let go.

"Did you forget your mother was seventeen when she fell in love with Uncle Jacob? And that Aunt

Janna was seventeen when she met Uncle Aaron. And do you want more names on the list? There’s

Aunt Andrea, Aunt Holly…"

"Enough, and don’t you dare forget how my biological grandmother ended up taking her own life! Her

life was cut short because my grandfather left her for his fated mate! I don’t have fucking time to play

around just to drop any female the moment my mate comes around! And you should be doing the

same fucking thing instead of pushing yourself at me!"

"What makes you think being chosen is a bad thing?"

"I just don’t see the need for it! I have a mate!" I brushed my hand over my hair before leaning my hand

on the wall. "Go, Amara."

"Then if you want nothing to do with me, then let someone else have me! Stop acting like a possessive

mate when you never wanted me!"

My body went rigid at her words. Did she find out?

"Stop telling every guy in the academy that shows interest in me to fuck off! Stop telling them Alpha

Aeon will have their heads off because my father will never do that! I can take care of myself, and it

shouldn’t matter to you if I throw myself at a pack of wolves, because we both know I’m not easy to

conquer! Stop giving me the idea that you want me for yourself when you don’t!"

"I only did that because I have your best interest..." My words were cut short when I heard footsteps

moving upstairs and toward where we were.

Her chest was still heaving, her eyes glaring at me, and if looks could kill, this pack would be left

without an Alpha today. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

"Calm down..." I told her. The last thing I wanted was to let anyone know about the conversation

between us.

"Amara…" Catherine’s voice rang in the air as footsteps grew louder.

"Here," I answered.

Catherine came into view. Her eyes were shifting between me and Amara as she walked closer. "Is

everything alright? Where did you hide this time?"

"Up in the cupboard," I answered before I turned around and walked towards the stairs. "Tell your friend

to stop climbing into higher places."

I heard Catherine let out a nervous laugh before she replied. "Aren’t you the one that told her she can

keep climbing and aiming for higher grounds?"

"It’s different now. I won’t be there anymore to catch her if she falls." I answered, and then I was gone

from the basement.

I knew my sister meant a different thing, but I meant what I said. Amara needed to stop, and I had to as

well.

She crossed the line I’d been trying to avoid since she hit puberty. It was the reason I shifted my

attention away from her and focused on hanging out with male Alphas.

I had been attracted to Amara since we were younger. The child crush turned into admiration, but I

knew better.

My biological grandmother, Geraldine, was my grandfather’s chosen Luna. They were doing well and

had a son until his fated mate showed up.

I had nothing against Jessica, my grandfather’s fated mate. She was a lovely female and someone you

wished you would have for a grandmother, but she was not mine. And although I loved Jessica, my

heart grieved for the grandmothers I never met.

Both my grandmothers were with their chosen before they met their fated mates, and life turned out a

bit harder because they had chosen mates instead of waiting for their fated ones.

I wanted Amara, but my desire to make sure I would not break her once my fated mate came along

was greater than what I felt for her.

I was just attracted, and the little kitten deserved more than just attraction. And I knew I couldn’t give

her more.

But she was right — I should let her live her life without any interference from me. And I would do that.

Since she shifted at sixteen, her aura had become stronger, and it was attracting Alpha males left and

right. I had to use her father’s name to warn them not to touch her because I didn’t want them to think I

was running after her. Or I had any intentions.

And I thought it was working because, up until now, no one had been brave enough to court or date

her, but I had no idea she was aware of what I was doing.

I punched the tiled walls in my bathroom while I soaked myself under the cascading shower. I knew

what I needed to do, but I was having a hard time dealing with it.

The kiss she gave me and the softness of her body awakened something in me — something I thought

I could always control.

I punched the wall once more before I let out a growl and rested my head on it.

I’m a fucking Alpha. I should act like one.
