Jayden slowly opened his eyes. In fact, he hadn’t slept at all. Just accompany Elena until she falls asleep. He then got up slowly. As much as possible not to make a sound so that Elena does not wake up.

The man with the black mane walked slowly towards the kitchen. Take out a bottle of red wine to accompany him tonight. Jayden took a sip of the drink. The silence in the room made his mind even more confused.

Several questions lodged in Jayden’s head.

Why would he hesitate to let Hera go? In fact, from the beginning he never wanted the marriage. Then why did he change so quickly?

“Do I really like Hera?” Jayden asked someone.

“No. I just love Elena. There’s no room for Hera,” Jayden argued again taking another sip of his drink.

“You’ve got it all, Jayden. It’s time you let Hera go. You don’t have an alibi anymore to keep this sick marriage going.”

“Is MadamHera going to part with Mr. Jayden?” asked Ara looking at the master who was sitting beside her.

“Isn’t that the best for everyone?” Hera actually asked back. “Jayden can marry the woman he loves so much and I can get out of a marriage that was wrong from the start,” continued Hera. Maybe her tone sounded sad but in her heart Hera was grateful because soon everything would end.

“You’re right, madam,” replied Ara, also pleased.

Knock… Knock… Knock…

The door opened slowly revealing the figure of Andrew who was looking at Hera with a look that was difficult for her to interpret.

“May I come in?” asked Andrew and after receiving a nod from Hera, he entered the room.

“I’m sorry, madam,” Ara said goodbye because the father and daughter couple really needed time to resolve the unfinished business.

Andrew sat himself on the edge of the bed. Netra who was originally in her daughter turned to her grandson who was fast asleep beside them. The man pulled a thin smile watching the growth of his grandson.

Silence dominated Hera’s room for a long time. Until finally Andrew spoke up.

“I’m sorry, Hera,” Andrew said with his eyes still on Juan. “You should have more confidence in your own daughter. Not in a man you just met. Just because he’s your boss at work,” he continued, sounding so sorry.

Hera’s heart immediately warmed making her give a faint smile.

“Hera also apologizes for not being able to be honest with Daddy all this time.”

What happened was not entirely Andrew’s fault. This misunderstanding occurred because of Jayden’s cunning that had deceived them.

The frowning face turned to Hera. “Why didn’t you ever say so? Why did you keep this all to yourself?” asked Andrew demandingly.

“Because I don’t want to lose my husband and father to Juan, Dad….” Hera took a deep breath before continuing her words. “But after seeing all that Jayden did, I finally gave up. Our relationship can no longer be maintained,” continued Hera, taking all the burdens that piled on her chest.

“Daddy should never have set you up with a jerk like Jayden,” Andrew regretted clenching his fists. Every time remembering how he had tricked her made Andrew’s blood boil.

“Do we have a choice then?” said Hera.

They looked at each other there. Hera is right. Did their family have any choice but to cooperate with the Xaviers? They were already on the verge of collapse and if it weren’t for Hera and Jayden’s marriage, it might be all over for them. Even now they weren’t sure if all would be well.

Andrew lowered his head. “I’m sorry for this incompetent, Hera. Daddy is too greedy to make you have to be trapped with that jerk,” said Andrew full of deep regret.

Hera took Andrew’s hands which were starting to wrinkle. “I never blamed Dad for what happened. Because at that time I was the one who agreed to marry Jayden,” said Hera, recalling her first meeting with Jayden.

**Flash back**

Hera thought that the family meeting that night was to discuss business. Like before. But apparently Hera was wrong.

“Marry?” asked Hera spontaneously a moment after her father expressed his wish.

“Yes, honey. You’re going to marry Jayden,” replied Anne, stroking Hera’s shoulder, which was slightly exposed by the dress she was wearing.

Hera glanced at the man in front of her. He looks so calm. Hera could guess that the man would agree with this matchmaking. He even smiled sweetly at Hera until the dimples on his cheeks were visible.

Very sweet. Hera admits it. But that doesn’t mean he willingly accepted the marriage.

“Are you sure you want to marry me?”

The question was asked after Hera asked their family for permission to talk privately with the man named Jayden.

“Why not? After all, it’s my Papa’s decision, so I can’t possibly refuse,” Jayden said and took a sip of his drink.

Hera snorted. “Don’t you have a life of your own that you gladly accept this arranged marriage?”

Jayden did not immediately answer but instead turned his face towards Hera.

“How about you?” Jayden asked back.

Hera being stared at by Jayden’s eagle eyes made her nervous to death. She even had to swallow her saliva slowly to feel the minty breath hitting her skin.

“Of course I have,” replied Hera as best she could to hide her nervousness. It was the first time she had been this close to a man. Because Hera had never had a special relationship with a man until her current age.

Spend time with his friends by exploring different places. That’s what Hera has always done all this time.

“I don’t want because of this stupid matchmaking, I’m trapped and can’t continue my perfect life,” Hera continued, but this time she spoke more firmly.

Jayden nodded slowly. Understand exactly what she meant.

“So you mean, you refuse this arranged marriage?”

“Of course. I refuse this arranged marriage. So immediately tell your parents to cancel it,” said Hera, getting up from her seat and then leaving without wanting to look back.
