Chapter 1361
Hansen was halfway through dinner when he suddenly clutched his stomach, face twisting in discomfort. He made a dash for the bathroom-once, twice, and then again.
Watching Grandpa's hasty retreat, Leo raised an eyebrow. "You think he got food poisoning or what?" he joked.
Everyone stared at the spread in front of them. Mia quickly put a gentle hand on her son's tiny belly. "Sweetie, your tummy okay?"
Henry shook his head. "No, Mommy. I'm still hungry!"
"Then help yourself, honey. There's nothing wrong with the food," Mia said, sounding relieved.
Molly piped up, "Maybe Dad snuck off and ate something he shouldn't have?"
Andre got up, worry creasing his brow. "I'll go check on him."
Meanwhile, Hansen was doubled over, convinced his insides were doing somersaults.
Andre found him just outside the bathroom and took his arm. "There was a bit this afternoon I wasn't watching you. Did you sneak a treat?"
Hansen avoided his son's gaze, looking guilty as a kid caught stealing cookies. "No, no, I didn't eat anything."
Andre coughed pointedly. Hansen shrank a little-when did his son start bossing him around like this?
"It's just the two of us, Dad. You can tell me. What happened?" Andre coaxed.
Hansen looked sheepish. "Well... while you were all playing with the dog, I got bored. Saw an ice cream cart, it was on sale, so I might've had one. Or two."
Andre just stared, silent. Hansen started fidgeting.
Summer wasn't even here yet, and here he was, a man in his sixties, lining up for ice cream like a kid. They'd kept an eye on their little sweet tooth, but no one thought to watch the original sweet tooth.
"Where does it hurt?" Andre asked, steadying his dad.
Hansen described his symptoms. Andre sighed. "Go sit down, have some warm water. I'll go grab you some medicine."
Back at the table, Chad was already waiting with two mugs of warm water. "Here, Dad. Drink up, it'll help."
Andre soon came back with the medicine and handed it over to Hansen.
Leo eyed his grandpa suspiciously. "Grandpa, did you sneak something?"
Andre shot his nephew a warning look. "It's just the temperature drop older,
. Grandpa's getting t
caught a bit of a chill."

Mia and Molly exchanged glances. Mia scolded Leo, "I bet it was you sneaking snacks! You're picking up the check tonight."
Leo: "..."
Anya, meanwhile, was cheerfully eating away. When she heard their family was covering dinner, she lit up and waved at the server. "Excuse me, can we get a few more dishes?" If Chad was paying, she saw no reason to hold back.
Leo groaned, "Hey, slow down! We're not made of money."
Anya, flipping through the menu, ordered a bowl of veggie porridge. "For Grandpa. It's good for his stomach."
Molly grinned. "Best granddaughter-in-law ever."
Henry, seeing Grandpa still a little pale, scooped up some mashed potatoes with his tiny fork. "Here, Grandpa! Eat up, eat up!"
Andre had mixed up a bottle of milk for Henry, but the little guy insisted on giving it to Grandpa instead.
"Grandpa doesn't need it, but thank you, sweetheart. You're such a thoughtful little man," Hansen said warmly.
Molly nudged Leo. "Guess why Dad always says 'little' grandson when he talks to Henry?"
Leo just rolled his eyes.
Dinner finished, and in the end, Andre paid the bill. Anya looked a bit sheepish. "Chad, weren't we supposed to treat tonight?"
Leo was secretly delighted that Anya
called it "our family," but he couldn't
resist teasing. "Why are you always so generous with our money huh? Ever heard of saving?" noveldrama
