The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate

Chapter 36

A man limped into the red moon pack. He was covered with blood and people rushed away from him as he approached them.

"Kendrick, what's wrong?" A guard yelled as he sighted him from afar.

He rushed to his side and helped him sit down under a shade.

"Take me to the Alpha, I must see him now," Kendrick replied. He was the man who was discussing with Clara the previous night before encountering Killian.

"What? Do you mean Killain injured you like this? But I thought he was weakened already." The guard said in shock, while Kendrick shook his head in pain.

"I don't have much time left, take me to the Alpha as fast as you can," Kendrick muttered weakly. He coughed hard before spitting out blood. There was no doubt that his internal organs were in a deep mess.

"You will be fine, trust me." The guard said. He carried Kendrick on his back and

"Greetings, Alpha Zayne." He greeted, and gently placed Kendrick on a mat.

"What's wrong with him?" Zayne asked with curiosity as he rolled his eyes all over him.

"He was injured by Killian." The guard replied and Zayne's eyes turned bloody in an instant.

"Killian, it's him again!" He roared and he exuded a murderous aura as if he was preparing himself for a fight. There was still something that bothered his mind though. The last time he saw Killian was also the first time he would lay his eyes on him. But to his surprise, they both look alike and one would mistake them as twin brothers if he or she didn't know of their identity beforehand.

"Alpha...Zayne." Kendrick muttered weakly, and Zayne rushed to his side.

"How are you feeling?" Zayne asked him. He turned to one of the guards and instructed him to fetch the pack's physician as fast as possible.

"Don't worry, Alpha Zayne. It's worth it if I can die for the pack." He said weakly and spat out blood once more.

"No, I must kill Killian with my own hands, how dare he injure my man like this?" He screamed, while Kendrick slowly held his coat.

"There's a plan," Kendrick said and coughed.

"What plan?"

"Killian is greatly weakened, and he still delivered such a great kick to me, I am sure he must have sacrificed a lot to deliver that kick. I saw his hand trembling after he kicked me hard." He paused to clear his throat of the phlegm obstructing his voice.

"The annual hunting ceremony is the best time to eradicate him once and for all, with little stress and casualty to our men as they would be too busy, and the security would lag for sure," Kendrick muttered, and Zayne slowly nodded his head.

"Also, Clara would work with you from inside, and she also has a strong supporter who is the general of the blue moon pack. So this will work out well for sure." Kendrick said as he swallowed hard. His red eyeballs were popping out of their sockets, and one would know at a glance that he was on the verge of death.

"My Alpha. Be sure to get rid of Killain and bring glory to the Red Moon pack. In that way, my death would be fulfilled." Kendrick said, and Zayne grabbed his hand.

"I promise you, I won't let you die in vain," Zayne replied and Kendrick smiled.

"Now... if you may...excuse me...my Alpha, I want to have a deep sleep. Forgive me... for I am leaving first." He stuttered, and his arm slowly slid away from Zayne's grasp. His eyelids gradually closed and he breathed his last.

Zayne wiped his face with his palm and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Rest on, Kendrick." He muttered with a smile before turning to the guard, whose eyes were already filled with tears.

"Give him a befitting burial, and add his name amongst the brave men of our pack." He ordered and the guard bowed.

He stared at Kendrick's body and was lost in thought. He wondered who would win if he and Killian were truly involved in a fight. He had successfully taken the life of one of his most powerful guards despite his weakened state. He sighed and stared into the air.

"Maybe we could have been best of friends, but unfortunately, we were born to be rivals." He muttered to himself.

"Are you sure it's going to work as planned?" Jared stared at Clara as she told him of her plans during the hunting ceremony.

"That's why we need to work together. The Red Moon pack is strongly behind us; there's nothing for us to fear." Clara replied while Jared sighed.

Clara noticed the worried look on his face and was quick to relieve him with her words.

"Are you thinking of the elders? With the red moon pack's support, who would dare oppose you when you sit on the throne and claim to be the Alpha?" She said, and Jared threw a quick look at her.

"You surely know how to read mind." Jared complimented.

"I am flattered. You just need to provide everything we've stated, the explosives, and the top rogue wolves." Clara humbly said, and Jared nodded.

"Noted." He replied.

"Killian. That seat of yours will soon be mine, I promise to give you a slow and dreadful death."
